Well after exacting my revenge for the colonoscopy yesterday by eating an omlet PLUS biscuit and fried chicken and then a burger and onion rings for desser, I ran some errands today.

Got the pool chems checked and bought some more acid.

Bought deer corn

Bought stain and varnish for my trim
Picked up said trim
Bought a lightweight concrete pad for the mini split
Dropped a package off at UPS
Bought a miter saw stand

This is what $150 in wood looks like.

Tuesday at work (school) teachers and all staff participated in ALICE training drills.  Active shooter scenarios and evaluation.  Finally seeing effective action being taken and forcing the sheep and snowflakes to evaluate reality.

Liberals are slowly acknowledging that the daily carry of a pocketknife and wearing a belt is common sense - amazing how quickly they let the redneck - Art Teacher, secure the door with a belt and fall in behind or listen to instructions barked out during evacuation!

At some point they plan similar training WITH students involved.

The weather has not been cooperating at all with harvest. A few guys are going but a lot of them have tearing up axles and transmissions. So we ave just been farting around in the shop. Wife is in full "I told you so" mode. What I thought would be a quick fix and flip is not looking good. Put a new starter in the Pathfinder and it still does the same thing it did before. I'm going to change out the relay to day and see what happens.

Hey so a shout out to my dad for preparing me...
so I procrastinated putting my license plate bumper mount on when he was around and he isn’t here at the moment so I had to do it all by myself and I did it just fine and I knew what tools to use as well so thank you dad.

Got Dad situated in nursing home. Donated his household stuff to several needy families ( it was great btw ). Dealt with all the financing and finalizing his lease and forwarding mail etc. none of that was fun or quick.

Was loading his car on dolley to take back to hippyland when moms dr called. They couldn’t reach her and needed her to go to ER immediately (she had ct done yesterday) they found a chicken bone lodged in her colon (can’t make this stuff up). So she was admitted, I stuck around until 7pm and met her colon dr who was 95% sure she would go home in morning and do follow up later in his office. I then drove for 6 hours to nowhere Iowa for the night. Bedtime, cya

Oh, and Baylee’s xj got rear ended. Her and my middle daughter Shelby and one of their friends were in the Jeep. Back hatch is fubar, stock bumper and hitch are bent down. Doesn’t sound good for xj, girls are ok though. What a week.....

So today was a busy day. (Aren’t they all?)

Pulled the 4 half doors and trimmed1/16 off the edge so they fit better. Then ran to town for a grocery run and then to the pool store for a leaf bag for the Polaris, then to the truck accessory shop for the bed cover for the sissy truck. Then to the mill for more wood.

Then stained the 4 doors and then painted the upstairs on the casita.

Tomorrow will start cutting the window and door trim.

Finished driving back yesterday, funny thing happened about 30 mins from Norms area on I80. At first I thought maybe they were my over watch (you know so I could pass safely thru Norms area without issue). However, then I realized they were heading towards him so thinking maybe there was a planned raid on his bunker. You know the one he talks about all the time aka “the shed”!

Haven’t heard from him in a few days so they either did raid his place or he just lost his phone again...

Got back to my shop at around 7 last night. Had sore throat most of yesterday then stepped out into 30 degree weather and immediately started chilling. Came down with fever apparently so dropped car outside shop then dolley at uhaul place. Came home to NyQuil / ibuprofen & long hot shower. Went to bed and within few hours woke up drenched and had broken fever.

Mom had colonoscopy this morning and is doing well. May get to go home tomorrow. Stopped by shop this morning at 7am and unloaded 4Runner and moved car inside. Took back wife’s rental car, had lunch with her and now just relaxing.

Baylee’s xj isn’t too bad, hatch is dented in and won’t open. Stock bumper pushed down and I think hitch is a bit too. Hitch stopped further damage is my opinion thus far. Other guys insurance will cut her check and she’ll add some more fun parts to xj. Guy who caused accident has USAA & guy who was meat in that sandwich has progressive go figure....

Well life is spinning out of control these days but slowed down enough to go find a whitetail. The big one got away when my muzzleloader misfired. Twice.
He would have been a 130-140 buck. Oh well.

This guy didn’t fare so well. It went boom when he came out for his picture.

I knew you'd show up Bobby.  I just had 3 eggs over medium, cheese.....and Siracha!

Working on coffee number 4...finishing the brisket I put on last night at 9pm.  Point came off about 6.  Waiting on the flat to come to temp
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Spending today and yesterday getting things together to take my dog Hank to Booneville, AR for the 2nd annual trip to the National Championships.  Cleaned and oiled the saddle and other leather gear and packing clothes for whatever weather comes our way. Will drag the trailer home from storage Wednesday to toss everything in and double check things before leaving Friday around 4am to avoid traffic stupidity; at least that’s the plan. 9-10 days of watching some of the best Brittany’s in the country and great people. Hopefully Hank has his best run yet and we’re successful in showcasing his abilities!

Nice. So let me share a story from yesterday's event:

There was a girl (18-early 20s) who was dead last in this ruck of almost 900some people. I passed her on my way back and she was riding the struggle bus hard, I asked if she was ok and gave her a thumbs up and she barely gave a thumbs up back. I finished,  we then found out she was carrying, what we initially heard was a 70lb ruck, since she had lost 70 lbs to join the Marines. Well she was close to finishing and the guy in charge of the charity ran to the next ballroom where a Marine unit was having their Birthday ball and asked the 2 highest ranking Marines there to come out and he explained what was going on. After she finished she got coined by them, we weighed her ruck so remember with little to NO training this young lady walked 20 miles with an 87 lb ruck on.

So, Bobby...being the calculating trained warrior NCO that you are.  Take the appropriate action, Execute!
your standard grunt level CQB is just putting rounds and rounds on scary stuff till it stops scaring you!

Great story.  So did she join?]

Never forget, always remember. Teach your kids.  Thank you, Veterans.
