Hand Tools, Power Tools, Welders, etc / battery charger wiring« on: August 12, 2022, 04:49:34 PM »
so there is this pile of battery chargers at the farm (roughly 1500+) that all supposedly work, but all of them have the charger cables and the power cables cut off them.
So I fished 3 of them out of the pile and got them halfway cleaned up. Now I need to figure out where to get new cords from so that I can get these things working. Does anybody know where I can get new cables from, or a good way of fixing what is there? I would like something that has the rubber protector where they come through the back of the charger. 9
Share Your Recipe / 30 second hollandaise sauce« on: June 30, 2022, 10:03:12 AM »
https://theviewfromgreatisland.com/30-second-hollandaise-sauce/#recipe
Ingredients: 1. 3 large egg yolks (reserve one of the whites in case it's needed to thicken a thin sauce) 2. 1/2 tsp salt 3. 1 Tbsp lemon juice 4. 1/2 cup (or 8 Tbsp) butter Instructions: 1. Put the egg yolks, salt, and lemon juice in the bottom of a wide mouthed mason jar. 2. Melt the butter in a small saucepan and let cool slightly. 3. Add the melted butter to the mason jar and immediately insert your immersion blender and blend for several seconds until the sauce is thick and creamy. As you are blending gently lift the blender slightly so you get all the liquid emulsified. 4. Taste to adjust the seasonings. You can add more lemon juice or even water to thin the sauce if it is too thick. Note: if your sauce is too thin, try blending in the reserved egg white. 10

who here has made the switch from a cartridge razor and aerosol cream to a double edge safety razor and manual cream?
I am tired of paying a fortune for cartridge blades that dont last that long as well as the aerosol cans of cream and have decided to give the old method a try. i picked up a nice heavy weight adjustable safty razor, cream, bowl, brush and 50 blades. 11

General Maintenance, How to/DIY projects / L5P fuel and oil filter« on: February 15, 2022, 09:50:11 AM »
the AC Delco fuel filter (TP 1015) for the L5P says its 3 micron rating and they cost roughly $24 - $35 depending on where you get them at.
I found this 4 pack on amazon with a 5 micron rating for $41.99 which comes out to $10.49 each. 1-2 micron difference means nothing to me! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DMFGY8Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 the AC Delco oil filter (PF 2232) is roughly $10 at most auto part stores. i can get them from amazon for $8.99 each with free shipping. https://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-PF2232-Professional-Engine-Filter/dp/B000C9QEF4/ref=pd_bxgy_1/143-9419773-7447607?pd_rd_w=iXFZu&pf_rd_p=6b3eefea-7b16-43e9-bc45-2e332cbf99da&pf_rd_r=XDTY3RJDM3DYMXN1YWAZ&pd_rd_r=a527ccf4-878a-4989-acf0-cea2290ccc70&pd_rd_wg=dbSgs&pd_rd_i=B000C9QEF4&psc=1 14

Site Help / photo problems?!« on: October 19, 2021, 05:06:08 PM »
Attention: if you are going to post a picture on a forum that was taken with your smart phone or your non smart digital camera, make sure you take the picture in LANDSCAPE mode on your phone (phone sideways) and not in PORTRAIT mode (phone up & down)!
If you take a picture in portrait mode, you will have to do one of the following before you can expect it to load correctly on a forum. Phone fix: 1. open the picture in whatever app you use to view pictures. 2. push the crop or edit button. 3. you can either crop your picture down a very tiny amount or you can rotate the picture to the correct orientation. 4. if you crop the photo, it should automatically save the new image (verify first), then delete the old one and post the new corrected one. 5. if you rotate the photo, you will have to make sure you save it, as it will not automatically save like it does for croping. Computer fix: 1. upload the photo to whatever computer platform you are using. 2. right click on the picture and you should have a couple different options to edit the photo. 3. you can either crop your picture down a very tiny amount or you can rotate the picture to the correct orientation. 4. if you crop the photo, it will should automatically save the new image (verify first), then delete the old one and post the new corrected one. 5. if you rotate the photo, you will have to make sure you save it, as it will not automatically save like it does for croping. If for whatever reason you are having technological issues, shoot me a pm on here or if you have my number you can call or txt me. 19

Share Your Recipe / bourbon baked beans from scratch« on: June 26, 2021, 05:33:10 PM »
decided to try some bourbon baked beans from scratch.
PREP: 1 hour COOK: 5 hours SERVES: 8 INGREDIENTS: 8 oz thick cut bacon diced 1 large yellow onion diced 3 tbls minced garlic 1 tsp paprika 8oz tomato sauce 1/3 C molasses 1/4 C bourbon 2 tbls packed brown sugar 2 tsp yellow mustard 1 tbls worcestershire sauce 1 lb dried navy beans rinsed and picked through Salt and pepper to taste 8 C (1/2 gal) of water (you can use chicken stock as well) - You will need a dutch oven that can hold at least 7 QTS DIRECTIONS: 1. preheat oven to 300 deg 2. cook the bacon until just before crispy, remove from pot and drain some of the bacon grease. Not all of it, because you will brown the onions and garlic in it. 3. brown the onions and garlic until softened. 4. in a small bowl, mix the paprika, tomato sauce, molasses, bourbon, worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, yellow mustard together to make a sauce. 5. add the sauce, beans, cooked bacon and 8 C water to the pot and stir to combine. 6. bring the mixture up to a boil, cover with lid and put in the oven for 3 hours while stirring every 45 minutes. The beans should be tender by this time. If they are not, leave in for another 45 minutes – 1 hour. Add more water if necessary. 7. when beans are tender, uncover the pot and increase the temp to 325 degrees and cook for another hour or until the beans are thick and browned. 8. remove from the oven and let cool for 20 minutes before serving. ill get a pic when complete. and i attached a word doc of the recipe so you can print off. 26

Most Favored Companies / who really owns and manufactures your tools« on: May 26, 2021, 09:31:51 AM »
I post this here and made it a sticky so that people can reference this information and be educated on where their hard earned money is actually going to.
this is not an end all be all thread, as i am working on some other ones regarding food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, etc. https://www.protoolreviews.com/news/power-tool-manufacturers-who-owns-them/43632/ Every wonder who owns Craftsman tools? How about Milwaukee, Mac Tools, or Skilsaw? It may surprise you to know that only a handful of companies own your favorite power tool manufacturers. That’s right, most tool brands fall under a parent company which also controls additional brands. We break it down for you…with charts! NOTE: RIDGID AND RYOBI CORDLESS POWER TOOLS ARE LICENSED BY TTI. We didn’t include every tool company in this image. To be honest, we couldn’t fit them all on the page. We will, however, do our best below to include as many tool brand parent companies as possible. Starting with several of the largest makes the most sense. YES, CRAFTSMAN AND DEWALT ARE OWNED BY STANLEY BLACK & DECKER Stanley Black and Decker Stanley Black & Decker (SBD) turned heads when it bought Craftsman Tools in 2017 after Sears closed 235 stores in 2015. The company owns many brands, however. Dating back to 1843 with a man named Frederick Stanley, the company quickly formed its roots. In 2010, it merged with another company which started in 1910—Black and Decker. As of 2017, the company maintains a $7.5 billion business in tools & storage alone. SBD brands include: DeWalt Stanley Black + Decker Bostitch Craftsman Vidmar Mac Tools Irwin Lenox Proto Porter-Cable Powers Fasteners Lista Sidchrome Emglo USAG WHO OWNS MILWAUKEE TOOLS? TECHTRONIC INDUSTRIES CO LTD (TTI) TTI Techtronics Industries As it turns out, TTI owns Milwaukee Tool and a host of other power tool companies. It also licenses the RIDGID* and RYOBI names for cordless power tools (Emerson owns RIDGID). TTI stands for Techtronic Industries Company Limited (TTI Group). Founded in 1985 in Hong Kong, TTI sells tools all over the world and employs over 22,000 people. TTI is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and had worldwide annual sales of over US$6 billion in 2017. Their brands include: Milwaukee Electric Tool Co. RYOBI RIDGID (“Orange”) Empire Level Hoover Dirt Devil Oreck Stiletto Tools Hart Tools Homelife VAX AEG *As a general rule, Emerson manufactures “Red” RIDGID tools and TTI manufactures “Orange” RIDGID tools. WAIT, I THOUGHT BOSCH OWNED SKIL? Chervon North America Not anymore. In 2017, Chervon acquired Skil Power Tool Brands from Bosch. This added two big brands to their portfolio: Skilsaw and Skil. Chervon started its power tools business unit back in 1993, launching the EGO brand of cordless outdoor power equipment in 2013. In 2018, the company rebranded Skil (including the logo) and announced new 12V and 20V cordless power tools. Today, Chervon tools and products are sold by more than 30,000 stores in 65 countries. Chervon manufactures the following brands: EGO Skilsaw Skil FLEX Devon Xtron Calmdura Kobalt 24V (ODM for Lowe’s) SO WHAT BRANDS DOES BOSCH OWN? First off, Bosch Tools only represents part of the Bosch Group which includes Robert Bosch GmbH and over 350 subsidiaries across 60+ countries. In 2003 Robert Bosch GmbH combined its North American power tool and power tool accessory divisions into one organization, forming Robert Bosch Tool Corporation in North America. The company designs, manufactures, and sells power tools, rotary and oscillating tools, power tool accessories, laser and optical leveling devices, and range finding tools all over the globe. Bosch also manufactures the following tools: Bosch Freud Diablo Dremel RotoZip Vermont American CST/berger HUSQVARNA GROUP BRANDS Husqvarna Group Husqvarna Group manufactures chainsaws, trimmers, robotic lawn mowers, and ride-on lawn mowers. The Group also makes garden watering products as well as cutting equipment and diamond tools for the construction and stone industries. Husqvarna Group also owns the following tools: Husqvarna Poulan Pro Weed Eater Jonsored Klippo Zenoah Gardena Diamant Boart Flymo McCullock Search Amazon JPW INDUSTRIES – JET POWERMATIC WILTON JPW Industries JPW owns several large brands including Jet, Powermatic, and Wilton. The company has its headquarters in La Vergne, Tennessee but also has operations in Switzerland, Germany, Russia, France, Taiwan, and China. They sell products in 20 countries throughout the world. Their tool brands include: Jet Powermatic Wilton Edwards Promac Tool Air GYS APEX TOOL GROUP (ATG)…IS A REALLY BIG GROUP Apex Tool Group Apex Tool Group has its headquarters in Sparks, Maryland, USA and employs more than 8,000 workers. They operate in more than 30 countries throughout North and South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Annual revenues exceed $1.4 billion on the sale of hand tools, power tools, and electronics tools for the industrial, automotive, aerospace, and construction/DIY markets. The following tool manufacturers belong to APEX Tool Group: Weller Wiss Gearwrench Crescent Lufkin Jobox Apex Campbell Nicholson Jacobs Xcelite Master Power Belzer HKP SATA Dotco Cleco Armstrong (shut down in 2017) Allen (shut down in 2017) EMERSON Emerson Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri (USA), Emerson manufactures products in the industrial, commercial, and residential markets. While TTI licenses the RIDGID name for power tools, Emerson controls the following tools (among others): RIDGID (“Red”) Greenlee Insinkerator Emerson Sensi ProTeam Klauke MORE SMALLER TOOL GROUPS AND COMPANIES TTS Tooltechnic Systems AG & Co. KG Based in Wendlingen, Germany, TTS or Tooltechnic Systems owns Festool (electric and pneumatic tools), Tanos (not to be confused with the guy who destroyed half the universe), Narex, Sawstop, and now Shaper Tools. TTS is truly behind the scenes as it doesn’t really have appear to have its own website (at least not in the US) or an official logo. In bullet point format, its subsidiaries include: Festool Tanos Narex Sawstop Shaper Tools Yamabiko Yamabiko Yamabiko Corporation started in 2008 and has three core business segments: outdoor power equipment, agricultural machinery, and industrial machinery. Based in Japan, Yamabiko is a global company with major markets in Japan and North America, and a growing presence in Europe and Asia. Tool brands include: Shindaiwa Echo KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P.) KKR Kohlberg Kravis Roberts KKR manages private equity, energy, infrastructure, real estate, and more. In 2017 KKR acquired Hitachi Koki. Previously, Hitachi had purchased Metabo. Now, KKR owns the following: Hikoki (formerly Hitachi Koki) Metabo HPT (formerly Hitachi Power Tools) Metabo Fortive Fortive Washington-based Fortive, a diversified industrial growth company, includes a multitude of Professional Instrumentation and Industrial Technologies businesses. Fortive employs over 22,000 employees in more than 50 countries around the world. Their numerous brands include the following tool manufacturers: Fluke Matco Tools Tektronix Keithley WernerCo WernerCo ladder company WernerCo manufactures and distributes ladders, climbing equipment, and ladder accessories under various brands. They also manufacture and sell fall protection products and job site, truck, and van storage equipment. The full lineup includes: Werner Knaack Weather Guard Keller Green Bull ITW (Illinois Tool Works) ITW Illinois Tool Works Founded over 100 years ago, ITW manufactures specialized industrial equipment, tools, and consumables. ITW operates in 57 countries with over 50,000 employees. They also have more than 17,000 granted and pending patents. ITW brands include: Paslode Duo-Fast Ramset Red Head Tapcon Bernard Miller Hobart Tregaskiss ITW Buildex Texwipe Deltar Alpine, an ITW Company Ideal Industries Ideal Industries In 1916, J. Walter Becker apparently started the IDEAL Commutator Dresser Company of Chicago from his mother’s kitchen. More than 100 years later, Ideal Industries serves technicians and workers globally. They serve electrical, construction, aerospace, and even automotive markets. You likely recognize several of their brands: Ideal Electrical Cree Lighting Anderson Power Products Casella SK Professional Tools Audacy Sunrise Global Marketing Sunrise Global Marketing manufactures Greenworks and Greenworks Pro tools. Positec Group Positec started in 1994 as an OEM manufacturer. They now own the Rockwell and WORX brands. WHAT ABOUT HILTI AND MAKITA? Hilti and Makita are just Hilti and Makita. Hilti doesn’t have any subsidiary companies underneath them or a parent company over them. Makita, on the other hand, did acquire the Dolmar brand, bolstering its already-impressive line of outdoor power equipment tools. It’s pretty impressive the market share each of these companies enjoys! WHO MAKES HOUSE BRANDS AT BIG BOX STORES? We can’t leave out the popular house brands available at those big box retailers and home improvement warehouses. Note that many (if not all) of the brands below represent ODM or OEM solutions. That means the tools get specified by the store but executed by another manufacturer. In other scenarios, tools are “offered” to a retailer and then manufactured in bulk upon acceptance of a buyer’s order. Home Depot House Brands Husky (Stanley Black & Decker, Western Forge, Apex Tool Group, Iron Bridge Tools, and others) HDX Lowe’s House Brands Kobalt Tools (24V power tools made by Chervon; 40V and 80V outdoor power tools made by Greenworks) Blue Hawk (various OEM) Menard’s House Brands Masterforce (various OEM) Grip Fast? Performax? Tool Shop? While you may have thought you knew who owned all those power tool manufacturers, consolidation has changed the playing field. By far, Stanley Black & Decker demonstrates the largest buyout pattern. Companies like TTI, Apex Tool Group, ITW, and others also enjoy adding to their numbers. Finally, if we missed any tool mergers or acquisitions, please leave a comment below. We want to keep this article updated—a much harder task than we ever imagined! Hand Tools, Power Tools, Welders, etc / BBQ/Work gloves« on: November 27, 2020, 06:31:04 PM »
So i was looking for a new/different pair of gloves that i can use while creating masterpieces on the smoker.
My must haves were: 1. I be able to hold (for atleast 2 minutes) pans directly off the smoker without feeling the heat 2. I had to be able to put them on and take them off pretty easy 3. They had to be thin enough for me to be able to feel what i am doing with my fingers 4. They had to be able to be washed 5. They had to be some what cut resistant 6. They had to be oil resistant (cant be burning my fangers with hot grease) 7. They had to actually fit my big hands So what i found was these 2 different gloves. This one comes in a pack of 12: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B074J59W91?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image And this was a single pair: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0829R7MD4?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title I think i found what i was looking for. On 22 February 2010 GOD created a true gentle giant who would soon be known as Maynard der König (MAYNARD the king)! And on 28 July 2020 @ 653pm GOD called you back to his side!
I truly hope that we were humans that you were proud to live with and provided for your every wish and desire! You were my true best friend and you never judged me for my faults! Your pain is gone and you can finally breath again and have those wonderfull dreams of you chasing rabbits! WE LOVE YOU and will always miss you! You will live in our hearts and memories every day until the day WE get to be reunited with you! |
