I like it. That’s cover behind that half wall as opposed to concealment

Yesterday I put some sikaflex 1c-Sl into all of the cut joints on the driveway.  Holding today it warms up enough to go fill any voids and call it a Sunday

One small step

This is the backing needed for my granite to sit on a “floating” slab.  The dog kennels fit under here just so.

The rest of my granite goes in tomorrow AM

We passed our inspections and the bank has been through the home.  Just going to simplify a little and move in slowly,   Sign papers on Wednesday.  Hopefully have things closed up here before thanksgiving

Looking good Dave! I’m sure everyone is ready to get in too.
The little things that your CDO (OCD for those that don’t have) is on fire about the rest wont even notice. That’s all part of seeing it all. It’s a beautiful house and will be a great home for you and yours.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Started the garage tonight, one thing led to another, it’s at least Masked off.  The pump won’t prime and my little pump won’t keep up

So at 1:45am I am calling it a night and see about a pump tomorrow.  40 gallons of paint to put on isn’t going on with a roller

Well before I cleaned up I gave the pump shaft a smack with a hammer I have and it started to prime.   I sprayed 16 gallons or so and now I am really tired and need to drive to my bed

I did try out the new shower.  With dish soap and a microfiber as my towel but..... I am more alert
Mirrors hung today

It was hard to get a feel for the size of the garage until you parked the truck in there.
Plenty of room for stuff.

Ken I have enough room to back up my 28 foot trailer and room to spare.   I do wish my double garage was a little wider than 18 feet.

Jr I love my headlights. I get the best of all worlds. Stockish style, amazing light output and only blind people because my truck needs air bags while towing

Tex the garage makes me so flipping happy. I can’t wait to build cabinets and move all of my tooling and motorcycle stuffs in.  Hang some photos and tinker with stuff.

It is for sure a good thing to get the wife in the house before the holidays.  Once things get unpacked and placed I’ll take some photos.   Our company wants to do a walk through video when it’s all cleaned

Stained glass anyone?

I have a wonderful artist in my family who does stained glass down in Ph Arizona and his specialty is stained glass.   All of my older aunts and uncles have some really beautiful things that he has made in their homes. I asked uncle Russel if he would be willing to make a very centered piece for my island and he accepted the challenge.

The glass is all last of its flavor sourced in the USA and the last of it resides in my home thanks to President O. It won’t ever be made stateside again thanks to lead manufacturing restrictions.

Spectrum is the brand (again out of business) cobalt blue.... and a big long number, the white pearl in the centers is also the last, with a few pieces in Arizona still.   I picked the glass, pattern, sourced and delivered  and I am super happy with the results and the months it took waiting.

And now finally hanging.
Tomorrow the other glass maker in the family is coming to put the last of that blue in my cabinet uppers to match the lights.   I also have one more pendant for a total of 4.  I will hang the last one over my master bathroom tub.

Dave,

Hats off and congrats on a great job here.

The home is good in so many ways. Has utility, presence (Curbside appeal) is well laid out making good use of space, has a great garage, good use of color, and enough use of tasteful addities (New word) as to hint of something much more costly.

Great job!

Buddy over @midnightarcmetalwork or arkstriker here and never posted. I asked him to make Me some cool coat hooks for the mud room and he provided 100% over the top with some simple but unbeatable design

I am not sure if momma wants them painted or powder coated or what she wants, I like them in the rough

Dave, if you paint them make sure you wire wheel the cut edge to remove the scale from cutting them that has built up. It will flake off easily...
