If you're interested send me a PM. It was Grandpa's gun, not looking forward to letting her go but I'm sure many of you have had circumstances dictate otherwise like me.

How about you let me buy into it and you just keep it for me. I'm sure there's enough of us on here to get you that $600.00- only stipulation is you have to keep it!! Forever! In case we want to shoot it!

The biggest mistake I've ever made, including marrying my practice wife was selling a passed down Mickey Mantle baseball card...

Send me your addy in a PM. I got $150 bill with your name on it brother!

Tate, Put your pay pal address either here or down in the admin section or share individually. We'll hook you up. Don't part with that gun. Take a moment and read the short story I just posted, "Patience and a squirrel." After reading it ask yourself if you can still sell that gun...

I am completely overwhelmed right now... I never expected the outpouring of support I have received here in my wildest dreams! I have spent the last few days praying for a way out of this situation that didn't involve selling that gun. Almost immediately after posting I started receiving my answers from the Lord, although I still wasn't listening. I have been trying to lean too much on "my own understanding" and not doing so well with it. After Bob reaching out and Blaine's post yesterday, and Don's "Patience and the Squirrel",  I prayed hard last night. And God heard me. I received a phone call at 0700 pst this am from Don telling me to log on and see what had happened. I had trouble speaking at first after seeing what love and support I had been receiving overnight from literal strangers that I have come to know through this forum and call friends. You all have truly blessed me with your kindness and I thank you from the bottom of my heart and give thanks to HIM in your names. The gun belonged to Conrad Leroy Hudson, who fought in the pacific conflict of WWII and assisted in the liberation of the Los Baños POW camp in the Philippines. I will remain in my family's possession thanks to your generosity. Don has offered to take care of me up front, if those of you that want to help will make your donations to the site's donation page that will pay him back. http://real-man-truckworks-and-survival.com/index.php?action=treasury

I thank you all, I don't know what to say other than thank you.

I have my Grampa's Savage Model 24 i got when he died. I couldn't imagine having to part with it. God Bless you Blaine for stepping up with the idea.

Hang in there Tate, we're here for you.

Matthew 7:7-8
7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

James 1:5
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

Colassians 2:2-3

Thanks to everyone!

This is exactly how men of honor act. Blaine stepped up and started it because God put that in his heart. Then the rest of us felt it after seeing HC's leadership.

I'm honored and humbled that God would choose this site and all of us who he stitched together to begin with (And we're far from being done growing) to do his work.

Still addin' and watchin

We should know pretty shortly

I think many of us can relate that we either have guns (gun safe queens) from our family that we would hate to part with or have parted with items that were special due to need. I know I do and hope to pass them down for generations to come.

I have an old Remington .243 that my dad had that was given to him by his father in law. He couldn't hit an antelope to save his life when we were hunting one day because he thought the bullet dropped like a 30.06.

I also have an old shotgun from my dad that he had engraved by some student at a community college. Honestly it looks like crap but that was the only gun that my dad mentioned in his will that he wanted me to have. I would hopefully never have to sell it.

We have all probably been there at one time or another.

God bless you.

I feel immensely blessed today, and again want to thank you all for the outpouring of support both monetarily and with your words.  I feel I should offer an explanation of my circumstances here.

For the last 2 years up until about 6 months ago my wife had a whole host of medical issues that landed us in the ER 6 times over that time period.  Specialists and scans, follow up visits and regular doctors all added their own fees and the bills started mounting.  I worked out payment plans with most of them but the numbers were in the thousands. She has been healthy and trouble free for the past 6 months but I have had to take a second job to help cover the difference and our savings has been all but wiped out. One specialist that wasn't covered by insurance was about to default my bill and I didn't have any vacation left to cash out, so the last option I could think of was to sell this gun. You all have lifted an immense burden from me and my family's shoulders, and God willing, allowed my son and future grandchildren the opportunity to enjoy the history of this family heirloom.

Thank you again.

The bible talks about this, the giving thing

To paraphrase, each should give according to his ability. That could be thousands or a penny or a prayer.

Remember the story of Jesus in the temple watching people donate or tithe? The rich would make a lot of noise pouring the money into the urn so that everyone would notice. But what did Jesus do?
When an old woman approached, he leaned over to a disciple and said "Watch this." She deposited a quarter mite.
A mite is like a penny. And because people were so destitute then the penny was sub divided into 4 pieces, quarter mites. Jesus valued her contribution of a quarter mite over all the other money.

Know why?

Because she did not give from abundance, but she gave everything she had. Yes that quarter mite was all the money she had, and she gave it all.

No one should feel ashamed or inadequate or like they didn't do something or anything like that. What we should feel is astonishment, and awe, that this thing happened here. I absolutely believe God chose this site and you men to help a brother in need.

Get that? God trusted us! He knew we would give.

I am humbled by this. And my money says the blessings (and challenges) will continue coming.

And that is a good thing!

OK, it's done

We all just paid $802 for that gun

The H C suggested agreement stands...Tate must keep the gun for life for us. When any of us are around and want to hold it or shoot it, well, we can.

Done deal

Thanks everyone for making this possible!

God Bless all of you!
