Well I was going to use 1.5 however HD was missing some parts in stock. 2 inch goes 20 ft to a large splitter box where it will go 3 directions for now in 1 in with the availability to add more 1 in routes if needed so 2 in really isn’t a big deal over 1.5

I also despise fighting to pull wire, we used to do the big cable with a forklift at my last place of employment....

The pallet rack I picked up at a local auction, setup and a little more organized. Ran me $125 9’ tall 42” deep and 94” wide Has 4 shelves rated at 8k per shelf. The two shelves I have were on it and made from plywood with 2x4 supports. May pick up the regular wire shelves down the road from a rack resale place in Denver. Good enough for now with bulk storage.

That is a nice rack. Even big enough for entire rear ends.

Awesome table

Neither......

There are forklifts on site but honestly haven’t used them at all yet. Biggest hurdle was getting cross section on top of lift. I rigged a snatch block from ceiling and Baylee held the rope (keeping one end up) and I walked other end up a ladder to get it in place.

A little limited with loft and open garage doors. Part of the idea for having these is moving heat from ceiling electric heater down to the floor. I also have floor fans and may install a wall mounted one. We’ll see but it’s a start...

So in addition to plumbing shop for additional air compressor and adding more light I wrote the check last night for this unit. Been turning away a lot of $500 jobs due to 2 post or the long bay it’s in being occupied. I called BendPak direct and they wanted to sell me a second lift so I pulled the trigger.

I figure the money I can save on garage size costs will more than pay for a lift like that. Double parking really helps, and being able to work on the underside of a rig not laying on the floor is a big plus.

Soon as my building is cleared, it will get a 2 post. I will need axle and tire access more than parking.

Shawn really want to here the report on the fans.  Looking at fans now for the outdoor kitchen.  Reviews are all over the place and no formal standards for air movement measurement.

So I have both mounted forcing air down in a 1200 sq ft shop (floor plan is shaped like a large L) with one 3/4 way back in deeper bay and then one up centered between front overhead doors about ten feet inside the shop. I keep a large floor fan under loft blowing towards doors. My shop stays a good 10 degrees cooler than shops without. They move a decent amount of air with my ceilings at 14.5’

I have two in my garage of the same model, put a remote control for high medium and low speed.  Keep my garage a good bit more even temp.   My stairs into the house were usually ten or 15 degrees hotter all winter long until I put fans up.

They have run at least on low every day for over a year. I like them

Jib column is ready to erect, need to trim 4 corners of beam at hinge end and cap opposite end then it will be ready to hang in place. I triple passed the column side of the hinge mount as it had about half the welding surface area the beam side had. After triple pass I looked inside of pipe and could see two distinct rectangles where the 1” x 1” x 2” stand off stock for the two pieces of DOM tube were welded on so the 5/8” wall pipe has good penetration.

Moved the column into position and stood it up. Borrowed a max sds drill from a buddy and had to track down a 3/4” bit for it. Not bad for doing it by myself. Bit of dirt and a Red Bull can inside that pipe.

How much structural strength do you think it would kill if you put a hinge mid length of your horizontal bar?  Bend around the corner?

Or rotate the post 90* so the hinge is closer to where he was standing to take the pic. Then it could kind of wrap around the corner.

Finished shop jib crane this morning and hung hoist then a few more lights. Now I’m waiting on my electrician to come in and properly wire all the new lights and ceiling fans. That hoist hung in my grand dads garage when I was growing up. I’ve had it in an action packer tote for at least twenty years toting it from one shop to the next and finally putting it to use.
