In Texas there used to be hardship licenses. Your parent only had to attest to the "need" for a license. I took my test in a 1962 bel air, 350 with Z28 intake, 292 heads, Holley 650 and a comp cam. No power steering.  . I had a full drivers license at 14 no drivers ed needed. They stopped that years ago.

Some. I don't push it on them too much. As much as they want and then let them move on to something else. If I push them they'll never want to do it. I needed the practice.  Drawing from concealed while moving was a bit of a challenge.

Gotta love the Craftsman range bag rofl

Got the 11 and 13 year olds on the Glock 17. The wife shot the 21. She was doing ok but after a few she was milking the trigger and off low and left just a bit. Kids did well with the g17 with me behind them for safety.  Even with them limp wristing it would not FTF

Today is target making day. Using what I had laying around. Some 6 ft T posts and weld on a mounting plate made of some purlin clips and some small targets and bolts. Wifey wants to shoot the G21 bedstand gun so I'm going to put up 4 of these targets and paint them different colors and call shots in colors.

Ok I may shoot some too. Jus saying

Just did my first mow yesterday. My Troy bilt 22 horse mower is used as part mower and part brush hog shredder. It goes through blades and spindles like a kid through a stash of chocolate.

When my 6wd dually got stuck by the pond in wet grass hooked to a trailer, it was the track-tor that made short work of the recovery.  Of course the dually had factory Michelin atx on it then which were worthless.

I haven't. Though I wonder.  It's well known that the 5.56 works on a tumbling fragmentation principle creating multiple wound channels. But at much higher velocity than the rounds from a pistol.  The hydraulic shock of a larger heavier expanding round at those slower velocities may still be preferred.  True multiple wound channels might be more lethal, time to incapacitation is my main concern, which massive instant transfer of total energy would probably accomplish better. My 2 cents

Dave I would find a review on BBQ brethren or pelletheads. I really like my RecTec. Look for heavy stainless on the burn pot and the diffuser plate. Mine has a cool down cycle that blows on the firepot removing almost all the ashes.  I never vacuum the ashes. Although I'd like to have the meat probe and more Programming on the controller you probably won't use it as much as you would think.

For reference.

Can employers prohibit workers from storing licensed handguns in their private vehicles?Generally, no. In 2011, Senate Bill No. 321 was signed into law. Under SB 321, most public and private employersin Texas may not prohibit employees, who hold a license to carry a handgun, from transporting or storing a lawfully possessed  rearm in the employee’s locked, privately owned motor vehicle in a parking lot, parking garage or other area provided by the employer. Of course, there are several exceptions, including, vehicles leased or owned bythe employer; vehicles parked in lots owned or controlled by schools; or speci ed properties owned or leased by chemical manufacturers or oil and gas re ners.

Actually your employer (in Texas) can not refuse you the ability to keep a weapon in your vehicle on company property. That law was passed about 3 years ago. My employer was the same way but now I can legally have it in my car on company property and they can't retaliate. This is assuming you aren't on a federally regulated facility and you Te subject to state laws.

G19 with a G17 mag with a stack of hydra-shocks

Reminds me of a saying

Thanks Don. She unloaded all the chop stone out of the trailer and removed all the flag stone from the original path, then helped rake out the path before I dumped the granite and re set the stone.

Don,  haters gonna hate....

I've been around a few of these things and most people have mounted them to a utility trailer.  Makes it mobile and functional.

Wow, I'm gone for a couple of days and you guys are on a roll.

On the college thing.

Follow the money.  Every time government gets involved in the financing of something the costs shoot through the roof.  People/businesses rush in to take advantage of a seemingly endless supply of funds.

Case in point,  take a look at the expenditure on healthcare since the introduction of government funding of Medicare and now the cost of college in the era of easy government backed student loans.

Dirty secret, college tution is one of the only things whose costs have risen faster than even heathcare costs.

Agreed that college is not necessary for everyone.  Work ethic and a willingness to learn go a long way even in todays world.

Now here is a thought.  much like every maligned conservative who has gotten publicity for their cause, (e.g. Joy Villa, Black Rifle Coffee Company, Ivanka Trump to name a few) If someone would start a strictly conservative college, I bet they would have a trail beat to their door

Add a tbs of canola oil and cook the entire finely chopped red onion over medium heat until soft. Then add 4 cloves finely chopped garlic and continue cooking 2 more minutes. Don't burn the garlic. Then add all the fresh peppers and continue cooking another 5 minutes.

Then add 1 tablespoons each of the powdered chilis and a teaspoon of Mexican oregano and cook 2 more minutes before adding 5 cups of chicken stock and 16 oz of drained whole tomatoes (puréed in the blender first)

Cook 15-20 minutes until slightly thickened

Partially freeze your bottom round and then cut into 1/2 squares. Season with salt and pepper and brown in batches in a heavy cast iron Dutch oven using a couple table spoons of canola oil each batch. Drain the excess oil between batches.  u

When you're done, return all neat back to the pot. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons cumin powder to coat and cook for a minute. Deglaze browned bits with a whole 12 oz bottle of dark beer. (Don't cheat. Open your own beer). Reduce the beer until almost entirely gone and the. Remove meat from pot.
