So tonight was wing nite.

Salt pepper and 10 minutes at 375. Into a bowl with Buffalo will Wings sauce. Some fresh tomato and cucumber from the garden.

Today was a day of mostly rest. Parents came up and spent the night at the weekend place. Grilled fajitas last night and made big breakfast this morning.  Got up at 5 and drank coffee with my dad before everyone else got up. After they left I took a nap (????? Hadn't done that in a long long time). Went out and worked on the casita for a while in the sweltering heat and then with only a 15% chance of rain we got a toad choker for about 1 1/2 hours my new drainage was spot on. Unfortunately because a lot of the ground was freshly worked it eroded severely.  I had hoped to get end walls on the culvert and another 54 tons of road base brought in before the next big rain.....not so much.

Today spent 6 1/2 hours on the tractor replacing a culvert.  2 eight inch pipes are not enough for the water flow when a heavy downpour happens.  Got an 18 inch pipe but had to dig 10 inches of the road base off and then come in from the side and dig a trench 20 inches deep to get the required 12 inch minimum cover on top to meet H25 rating.  Almost rolled the tractor 3 times trying to compact the drive near the edges....  make you want to actually wear that seat belt......

Wow. Ask and he shall receive. Maybe you should just dump a TON of money in it, getting it about 90% completely restored and then let it sit in your garage indefinitely.

Oh and today I had 72 tons of rock delivered.  36 rip rap and 36 crushed limestone roadbase.  I have to re-cut the drainage channel along side the driveway and line with rip rap to stop the erosion. I put down about 4 inches of the road base by the shop and will eventually do the entire drive.  Getting practice with the tractor trying to get a smooth surface.

Really want a hydraulic top link and hydraulic lift link.  I already have the two rear remotes, I just need the links and hoses.

Bear I feel ya.  My weekend place is a 12/12 metal.  Slick as owl snot.

Ok. Three racks of ribs today. Three different ways. All used my same rub, but one was not spritzed/mopped, one was spritzed with apple juice and one was mopped in a vinegar sauce that had pepper, brown sugar, salt, white vinegar, crushed red pepper flakes and Texas Petes hot sauce.  I really really liked the vinegar/ pork combo.  Wow.

I don't do MOA. I only do MIL. What ever system you choose make sure that all your weapons systems are the same. Only one system to learn. Computers can give you trajectory tables but only real world shooting can show you the real dope. Get a log book and keep detailed meticulous records. Temp humidity wind ammo distance all factor into your dope book. Shoot a lot and keep records

Good job Nate. Old guys rule. I can tell you that water at 50mph hurts. I high sided my seadoo XP at 50+ going around a bend and hitting a wake. Launched me like a rodeo clown getting the wrong end of the bull.

Today I poured concrete. Did bible study. Poured more concrete.

Didnt like the amount of bearing surface on the 12 inch piers for the 12x3.5 glulam. So I put an 18 inch tube form around the 6 outers and poured a bigger tube.

Should be ready to get with the structure of the casita soon.

I'll take a stab at it.

Most of the left was indoctrinated from birth with liberal ideas although they do not know it was from Marxist socialist teachers and professors.

Because of this, and the fact they've never had to face a real existential threat, they think more with their heart and feelings than with their head.

They were raised in hyperbole and not facts, therefore when their "belief" system is challenged, rather than dealing in facts they resort to violence or insults.

They will continue this destructive pattern until their head is separated from their body by the very people they welcomed under the wonderful idea of tolerance.

Dave as a brisket nears completion, and the fat starts to render, it becomes tender. When inserting a skewer, you'll notice it slides in like it's going into butter, very little resistance. Another method is how flexible it feels when you pick it up.

Mike, small victories.....

So had the parents over for bible study today and then went to get Pho for lunch.  Ordered a simplisafe security system for the weekend place/hide.  Then ordered parts to make a 1U rack server/computer that will run the camera system I plan to build to replace the one I have now.

Got terrestrial internet last weekend finally so I can get rid of one of the dishes.

What type of Loc-tite should be used on different areas of assembly?

Back-up sights?

Buffer Tube?

Anti-walk pins for trigger assembly?

Stock/sling mounts?

Anywhere else?

I know "staking" is another method for some areas, but I'm pretty sure those are already covered, except the Buffer Tube, which doesn't have a nut based upon my stock choice.

You can use Blue in all those locations, but really most BUIS don't work loose if they are steel and mil spec rail design.

Please describe the buffer tube set up.  That is the one location that needs staking, along with gas key on the bolt carrier.

The anti walk pins should use blue loctite.

Perhaps the most important area for loctite is the scope rings where they hold the scope.  I put blue loctite and then apply a dab of red finger nail polish to be able to easily identify if the screws have worked loose.
