I think this is the Dems finally saying so long to the Clinton Crime Family. Even Liawatha Eliz Warren said the process was corrupt.

I was astonished to see Brazille write that due to the Seth Rich murder she kept her blinds drawn. Is there mire there she's not telling?

But she's not innocent.. she fed Hillary questions from CNN before a debate. So she was willing to be sleazy but now they're all trying to bury Hillary for once and for all is my guess. Should be fun watching the hyenas turning in themselves.

What are you building? / Re: Design software
« on: November 03, 2017, 09:30:55 AM »
Since you are doing plans and live you have to get it approved/permitted (quiet) I would just look at plans online or in a catalog.

Out here just the engineer for my my garage was $1500 ten years ago.

I also have a buddy who is doing my plans on ACad who loves doing garages all day long. Maybe scetch it out and I could see what he would charge for stamped plans or he may know where to look for RTG plans also.

Doesn't sound crazy at all. I've already done that to some degree in Excel (i use excel all day every day so thats my "yellow pad") re-sizing the cells to square and laying it out. Thats gotten me this far but want something better for the "next steps".

It's at 34x26 now, 3 car bays under, upstairs will have bathroom & laundry, kitchenette  (stove top but no oven), dining area open to living area. Bedroom. Small deck.

What I'm calc'ing now is the knee wall transition to the roof line. I want to make sure it doesnt look weird inside with the sloped walls.

I also would like the software as I want it for another place I'm hoping to get started on in a year or two. And that will be a full house etc.

For all this I figure the more I can fine tune it now the greater the likelihood I get what I want and also keep costs down (ha! As if that's possible! But I think you know what I mean.)

« on: November 02, 2017, 09:33:48 PM »
Yes it should be pretty simple. I do want to keep the 9/12 pitch that my house has. But I am not doing a full second story then the roof on top of that. I want a single story 3 car garage then the roof on top that will have dormers on the frobt, a partial shed dormer on the back, a slider and small deck. Due to the  slope of the roof I know I have to give up some floor space. I partly want to play with where I put the stairs coming up from the garage, where I put the walls, what the headroom will be etc.

I have looked at some of the online ones  (and am still looking at them), just not finding exactly what I want.

Maybe I won't need an architect though, not sure. I just want to be sure we get what we want. I have tried sketch up before but could never get very good with it so was looking for something dedicated to building.

My wife and I will be building a garage with an apartment over it for my FIL to move into. I have sketched some ideas but I want an architect to do the plans. But I'm thinking I can save some time and (hopefully) $ by using a basic software system as a starting place.

With all the building I've seen done here I'm wondering if anyone can point me to a decent software package for this?

Thanks.

Ps been a rough few weeks here for all of us. Sorry I haven't been around much. Hope everyone's doing well!

Don just saw this- obviously a different view from what you posted. Do you have a sense of which is more likely the accurate story?

October 26, 2017

Sergeant La David Johnson's ODB support team was on a mission to setup a CIA drone base in Niger, was never truly missing, and were asleep when the ambush began.

VERO BEACH, FL (TruNews) In the early morning hours of Thursday October 4th, a twelve man Special Forces Operational Detachment Bravo team, also known as an ODB, was ambushed in Niger by a force of approximately fifty attackers using seventeen technical trucks mounted with medium and heavy Soviet-made crew serve weapons.

From the onset, military officials knew three U.S. soldiers had been killed and that one was alive but missing in action.
Although media was reporting mechanic Sgt. La David Johnson as MIA, military officials have told TruNews that AFRICOM never lost track of the "missing" soldier.

According to three active duty military personnel assigned to Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), following the separation from his unit, Sgt. Johnson was tracked by aerial surveillance and reconnaissance assets, but due to the "tyranny of distance" response time for the reactionary force and medical attention was stretched between 38 and 42 hours.

The officials, who have been briefed on the details of the operation in Niger, but spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not permitted to discuss the incident publicly, also told TruNews that the ODB team was parked in place and asleep at the time of the initial ambush.

With none of the ODB team awake to provide security, the enemy was emboldened and uninhibited in their setup of the deadly close range ambush.

ODB teams are comprised of mostly "non special forces qualified" soldiers, and are usually not assigned a Joint Tactical Attack Controller (JTAC) due to their predominate role as a support element, rather than a direct combat asset, which they lack the trained personnel to properly fulfill.

This may explain why the ODB team did not, and could not, communicate with the two French Mirage fighter jets which arrived "on station" while the ODB team was still fighting for their lives, approximately one hour after the initial ambush.
Officials also told TruNews that prior to the ambush, the ODB team was carrying out a reconnaissance mission for the placement of a CIA drone base, also referred to as an Advanced Operational Base (AOB).

Niger was picked for the placement of the CIA drone base because of its strategic positioning in the center of the African continent. The CIA operates similar drone reconnaissance bases in South Sudan and Tanzania.

In response to this report, Department of Defense spokesperson U.S. Army Major Audricia M. Harris told TruNews that the U.S. military does not have an active, direct combat mission in Niger.

Thanks for posting this Don. So hard to sort wheat from chaff through what's reported in the media.

Now it looks like the security guard shares a SSN with someone else? Is he an illegal?

So much here that just plain stinks. Video cameras everywhere in Vegas and nothing of the alleged shooter. We are not that stupid. The lies keep growing.

Well some times my "plan ahead" actually works. Who knew? I got a new hot tub last fall. When I installed it on the patio instead of putting it directly on the patio I built a platform and put lag bolts on the corners and put the hot tub on that  - the old one was directly on the patio (a paver based patio) and with all the water we have (I back directly up to a pond) the patio had settled a bit and trying to fix it was next to impossible. So I noticed the other day the tub was about an inch off from one side to the other (the water makes it easy to see! Even a dummy like me can see when it's off!). I needed to drain it anyway so drained it and decided I would level it. Talk about easy....hi-lift on the low corner....brought it up an inch or so, slid some PT 5/4 under the 4x4....lowered it....checked it with the level...its good...and started filling. From empty to re-filling maybe 10 minutes. I spent more time getting the jack and a piece of 5/4 out of the scrap pile than I did actually fixing it.

So I do get lucky some times! Of course now I just screwed up that karma prolly! Ha.

Dunno if fluid filled tires would be needed....theyre heavy suckers. The Deere models (most of them Timberjack versions after Deere bought them) range from 36,000 lbs to 49,000 lbs. But you may be right? Just seems like air or fluid wouldn't have a huge impact?

So something weird I can't figure out....in the pic of the shooter being shown a lot where he has a drink in his hand he has a "13" tattooed on the front of his neck. But in the one of him with his girlfriend's family he doesn't have it. Then in the pic being shown of him after he supposedly committed suicide (the 10/3 pic I referenced above) he doesn't have it. So obviously one or more pics are fakes. But also, assuming the ones of him with his gf's family and the sleepy eyed pic with the drink are real he got the neck tattoo after the pic with the gf's family. Why? Isn't it odd that a 60 something yo accountant type would get a prison looking neck tattoo? Yeah I understand that any mass casualty shooter has likely done lots of weird stuff but this is another "something doesn't add up" thing in my mind.

Don I am very sorry for your loss. I have never had a bible teacher like that. I need to find one. You have painted a eloquent and beautiful picture of your friend. I am convinced he will live on in the things you do differently because of his influence in your life. And that just as he changed people, you will continue to as well. There is something about a 21 gun salute that is jarring, final and so very poignant, all at the same time.  Thank you very much for sharing that.

This woman has some interesting perspectives and info on it. She tweeted a picture yesterday of (supposedly) the shooter and asks why there are clean bullet casings on top of the blood stain beneath him (You have to scroll down to her tweets from Oct 3). I don't know if this is a photoshop or anything else but it would seem to raise some questions about what we are being told....

I'd "Season" this one for a time

Give it some time for the story to fully develop and watch the juxtapositioning of the early and follow on players

A linkage with mental illness and gun control is surely in the offing as is the age old anti gun rhetoric.

It's pretty convenient when the shooter is blown up before being questioned...

THIS^^^^

I am so sad for the victims. 2 of my daughter's friends were there, fortunately okay. But so much of what "comes out" initially is proven false later. I truly believe the Dems politicize it immediately because the people who do these things are always people the Dems support be it Muslims or "regular" Democrats. The libs know that if they hurry up and get a "story" out there the ignorant among them will buy it hook line and sinker and continue to spew those falsehoods. Look at how indifferent Libs are to Benghazi despite demonstrable proof that the "you tube video" story was utter BS.

I find that life has a way of reminding us what matters and what doesn't. When my MIL passed away this past spring we had numerous examples of things that were just a bit "too coincidental" to ignore. She was there for much of it letting us know she was okay. When I read things like you have written it reminds me to focus on what matters. Life has a way of distracting us and getting us off what is important. Thanks for the reminder.

Some cool flying for sure. I have to think that's a rush for the pilots. Don you have to miss that no?

I flew with a spray plane pilot once up to Labrador from Maine. Leaving we flew past the camps we had stayed up. They were up on a river bank about 25 feet above the river. We flew up the river past them and I remember looking up (slightly but still up) at the camps when we flew by. That made me realize just how close to the water we were. Yeesh. Sadly the pilot put his plane into the trees at his parents farm later that summer. Even sadder was that the whole family was there for a cookout and he was going to be going to the BBQ when he finished so they all saw it.

Looking good.

Really good bino's are hard for carrying. Especially for hunting where dawn and dusk make some of the ones without enough objective (the 2nd number) more difficult. I think you are right in a decent spot where you can carry them okay without them killing you, but you'll still be able to see in somewhat lower light situations. For sure something 50 or better would be that much better but those are big*ss ones to lug around. Obviously it depends where and when you hunt too though.

I'm surprised a traffic light would flip it. I figured if he caught the light it would just pull free - even the pole too as I thought most of those poles were the breakaway types ? Course I'm guessing when the beds up the stability of the truck changes a lot so might be pretty easy to flip at that point.

Thanks Nate- yeah I saw that comment. So I think one way "around that" if using a Camp Chef (I too want the flexibility to use pots etc. ) is with a thicker gauge flat top....it would spread the heat better no? I tried to find the gauge of the CampChef one but it doesn't say, but basing on the weight and size it appears the Camp Chef version is around 3 gauge (almost 1/4"- a 16"x24" griddle weighs 28 lbs.). The Blackstone one is lighter (7 gauge) but that lighter metal probably still works due to the difference in the burners?

I'm probably overthinking this anyway (shocker I know!  ) I do want the ability to use pots/pans so the camp chef still seems like the best way to go.

Coffee Induced Early Morning Rant / Cajun Navy
« on: September 08, 2017, 07:41:13 PM »
well written words on the Cajun Navy helping people in TX.....

Hundreds and hundreds of small boats pulled by countless pickups and SUVs from across the South are headed for Houston. Almost all of them driven by men. They're using their own property, sacrificing their own time, spending their own money, and risking their own lives for one reason: to help total strangers in desperate need.

Most of them are by themselves. Most are dressed like the redneck duck hunters and bass fisherman they are. Many are veterans. Most are wearing well-used gimme-hats, t-shirts, and jeans; and there's a preponderance of camo. Most are probably gun owners, and most probably voted for Trump.

These are the people the Left loves to hate, the ones Rachael Maddow mocks. The ones Maher and Olbermann just *know* they're so much better than.

These are The Quiet Ones. They don't wear masks and tear down statues. They don't, as a rule, march and demonstrate. And most have probably never been in a Whole Foods store

But they'll spend the next several days wading in cold, dirty water; dodging gators and water moccasins and fire ants; eating whatever meager rations are available; and sleeping wherever they can in dirty, damp clothes. Their reward is the tears and the hugs and the smiles from the terrified people they help. They'll deliver one boatload, and then go back for more.

When disaster strikes, it's what men do. Real men. Heroic men. American men. And then they'll knock back a few shots, or a few beers with like-minded men they've never met before, and talk about fish, or ten-point bucks, or the benefits of hollow-point ammo, or their road-worn Ford F-150 pick-up. They'll likely be up again before dawn to do it all again until more of the helpless are rescued and all the work's done.

And the next time they hear someone talk about "the patriarchy", or "male privilege", they'll snort, turn off the TV and go to bed.

They're unlikely to be reimbursed. There won't be medals. They won't care. They're heroes. And it's what heroes do.

Saw this and had to pass it on.....

September 5th marked the 35th anniversary of the death of Sir Douglas Bader and I couldn’t let it pass without this story about the RAF hero. He was giving a talk to an upmarket girl’s school about his time as a pilot in the Second World War. “So there were two of the f***ers behind me, three f***ers to my right, another f***er on the left,” he told the audience. The headmistress went pale and interjected: “Ladies the Fokker was a German aircraft.” Sir Douglas replied: “That may be, madam, but these f***ers were in Messerschmitts.”

149
:likebutton: that looks great. I was going to ask about running pipes between the "hoops " to add more rigidity. I think I saw that somewhere on military trailers with similar canvas tops. But sounds like you beat me to it! I think this will work great!
