You could have been one of Bobbee's bros, hanging out (literally) in the back of airplanes then jumping out, just to prove that most of the time parachutes actually work...Well right up to the point you land in a 80' tree, or when you hit the DZ and get carried off like a plastic bag on the highway... Fun N' Games
Pop the release and no plastic bag effect... If you're quick.

I don't have anything on it now. I can't decide what I want to use it for really. The 2.5-10 is probably the most useful but not good for close range. I've been considering a T1 and magnifier also. Then there's the .308 specific ACOGS. That's why it has open sights. I can't make a decision.
The struggle is real. I like the T1 for battery life, but like the EoTech's reticle more.

There's a zipline in Lexington that's 500' underground in some old mines or something. On my road trip back from the wedding in June, I wanted to go check it out, but getting the road trip over with won out in the end.

Nightforce NXS http://www.opticsplanet.com/nightforce-nxs-35-15x-tactical-riflescope.html#
I want one. Well if you haven't shot one by the time winter rolls around we can arrange to shoot mine. It's looking like when I get laid off this winter I'm going to bring my truck up da UP to do the swap eh. See what I did there lol. My dad has a big garage I can use for the swap and I need to spend some time with him.
If you're around GB I'll bring it up and we can go beat on it for awhile if you've got a place to shoot.
Vortex. I'm actually thinking that might be what I use on my SCAR the 2.5x10 variety.
Sounds good, winter shoots are always fun. the 2.5-10 is a good choice. What do you run on the SCAR now? I'm a glass snob but I can say this. What ever it is that you buy, make sure it is first focal plane and the turrets match the reticle, e.g. Mil/mil, or moa/moa.
Oh, and Bobby, get an 03 or newer LB7 if you can. The can bus communication protocol changed in 03. Anything ever goes seriously wrong you can swap in later model engines without much trouble. Not easy at all on the 01&02
I agree with FFP , matching turrets. As for the truck, it really depends on what I see when I go look at them. I'd like the 03 as it's a 1 owner, 3" stack of maintenance records, however we shall see.

The scary part, is on occasion people believe those stories are real.

Next is the stock and scope, vortex?
Since it's a precision build I'd go with: StockA2 style - It's simple, you can find them cheap, they work. Can't adjust the LOP or cheek rest, unless you add an aftermarket rest. MagPul PRS - Not so cheap, but you can adjust the LOP and the cheek rest. ScopeVortex - Good quality optics, good price, lifetime no questions asked warranty. Those are my thoughts.

My scar is definately a favorite. I have the 17 and it is the softest shooting .308 you will ever handle IMO. I want a 16 so bad I can taste it. To the point of starting to do a mental inventory of what I can stand selling to fund the purchase.
No one I know within a reasonable distance has one. I want to shoot one and see if I like it. I do know, just by the looks that I hate the butt stock. But that's just a minor aesthetic point.

And Bobby (And Red Neck) why am I suddenly so "Quotable?"
And off topic (DOTin!) Bobbee, did you buy that 7.3 you were showing us?
1. You're a writer, you on occasion have quotable quotes of genius. 2. Nope it sold. Looking at an 01 LB7 CCSB w/ 262,xxx, 03 LB7 CCSB w/209,xxx, 97 ECLB 12V w/150,xxx. If you want an AR go DI. If you want a piston go SCAR or an AK.
I want to fire a SCAR.

Either or will work. But the DI is simpler, lighter.

Nope, I ate a sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. It was tasty, no supporting documents.

It's possible. I even walked on the grass..

you must counsel yourself for this...............;D
I also failed to perform D&C afterwards, there was no cadence being called, and I had visible tattoos... There was a great disturbance in the force.

Grunts can't think like that! ;)
You guys just eat once in awhile, sleep even less, complain and steal things while awake, then go out and break things, make noise, and hurt people the remaining time...

so now that we have talked about cats on bobbys thread, whats the status of the furd bobby?
About cats : I hate them. About the 7.3 : Buddy hasn't gone and looked at it yet. I called the dealership. They have no records of prior maintenance, only what they did. The "tune" was a plug and flash. I'm still looking. Oh yeah, almost forgot what it was about. Lol. He did put it in the D.O.T. section though, so it should be expected.
Doesn't bother me when things go off tangent.

But you installed it, someone else built it.. You deprived the DOTs of build thread substance. SO now we pile on even the most minute of details.

So I was out exploring and wandered into a gun shop in the area. The guy builds precision rifles and etc. He had one of the rifles he built for a customer up on the counter. Remington 700 in 6.5 Creedmore, with a carbon fiber barrel. It's stiffer than a steel barrel of the same length, has a match liner and the whole package was pretty light. I had never seen a carbon fiber barrel before, and it does seem like an interesting and weight saving option.Sorry didn't take any pics.

free always makes things taste better
Yes it does, those red beans and rice tasted even better as free. I'm definitely going back for the pork chop sandwich and the bbq pork sandwich. 1 of those 2 will be had, along with a slice of pecan or sweet potato pie.

Well again no pics, but on Saturday, my parents, nieces and I went to a new, small Soul Food Cafe here in GB. Had some amazing catfish, homemade mac n cheese, cornbread, sweet tea and sweet potato pie (1 of my 2 favorites pies). Afterwards, dad and I were talking to the owners and I mentioned I was torn between the pork chop sandwich with red beans and rice and the catfish I had ordered, she hooked it up with some free red beans and rice.

Seems high price wise for 200,000 and the visible wear to the driver's seat. Photo of engine bay would give you a better idea of how it was kept before going up for sale- everyone cleans the outside and interior. More details on the "tuner" might give you better insight- a tuner on a truck owned by Don or RN is one thing, a tuner on a truck owned by my 23yr old son would be a "NO THANKS" for me.
I do know the PowerStrokes were plagued with major issues, some years much worse than others- of course within those years, many didn't have one problem, so hard to say! If you're serious, I'd knock them down on price to say $10,250 - price out a replacement on the driver's seat alone; should be enough justification, especially if heated.
I was thinking about $10,xxx ish. The seats are heated. I looked at the interior and the seats could be sewn, even by me and my limited sewing skills, until I can get them recovered. The motor looked ok, naturally it was cleaned by the dealership. I didn't get an in depth check up since it was late afternoon on Sunday. I'll hear more from my buddy later on today probably. As for the tuner, I"m going to call the dealership and ask them for more info, just haven't gotten a chance yet.

Would that make it a DOT Free Zone? You know what happens when you disarm a location....it gets over run and massacred. There will no doubt be a high capacity DOT attack...
Possibly.

1200' is standard... We did an 800' morale jump with the FFL once....
800-900' night time, 0200 TOT... And all the fun jumps and wing jumps and etc happened after I left. I went to jump for my Chilean wings, and sat rigged up on Rhine Luzon for hours sitting in the sun... Chalk2, was going to be my last jump in Division... scratched due to high winds on the DZ.

Over on the other thread there, Airborne!
But that thread should be kept clean of unrelated ramblings and missives, and only have the actual review posted in there to keep it more streamlined and on task.

Bro, that's not high, I'm guessing 1500AGL. Bobby, look like 1500 to you? And yea, Sicily was mostly sand. What was the next big one down the road? Nijmegen? or??
1500AGL seems about right. Sicily was lots of sand, but had a few more hills, and a larger centerline road. Nijmegen was next. I'll lean towards Nijmegen.

mess kit repairman
You don't know the horrors those brave men and women faced on a daily basis. They stood upon the cusp of anarchy and stared down the horrors that lurk just beyond the shadows. With steely determination and an unwavering moral code of conduct, they trudged forth into battle with just their tin snips, soldering irons and rivet guns, vowing to never fail a mess kit in need of repair. They are truly the real unsung heroes of this generation of Warfighters... or something like that.
