I made one out of pvc. The only issue is you have to lift the tool so high to get them out my wife struggles with the larger things like leaf rakes
I did see another idea where the gent turned the 45 degree the other direction and gravity held them in place. He then cut the front of the pvc out so you could slip the tool in.

Dave, move you top horizontal board down, it will still hold the tools and wife can access them. Bottom one could be rotated 90 degrees and push handles out so the tools cant towards wall too. Just a thought

Pulled rear seat from X today to load up camping gear I had stored at shop over winter. Heading to higher altitudes this weekend to beat the heat a little. Amazing the amount of storage, truck is really growing on me. I did pick up a 4.30 gear 80 dually axle this morning cheap and complete. Who thinks I should dually this X like the old burbs?

This thing still broke? Think it needs a caddy 500 conversion.....
That quote looks a little salty Shawn... dog problems?
Kid problems, if I didn’t have kids a single 3.5 cent 22 LR would fix the dog issue......

Then took it back upstairs and installed it with HeadLok screws (like timber lock but with a large flat head). 12 screws into the wood triumph it sits on and the subfloor and in a couple of instances, the engineered joists, and that thing would support Ken’s girlfriend..

Yea totally thought you jammed some kind of turbo in there!
Baylee wishes.....
Rightfully so! Not like that 4cyl is a spunky. Only way to get it to really go is re gear! Did you re gear that thing?
No, we considered it but she’s only running 32” tires so we would have sacrificed some highway speed and well she will graduate high school this year so thinking that is more important maybe.

Sell it. Move on.
My offer still stands on the Cummins, maybe you should take your own advice????
I don't sell to lowballers, especially hippy versions. Plus, I'd have to get dust on my hands getting it out of the shed...we know that ain't happening.
Since you weren’t delivering like that nice guy Phil it seemed like an honest offer......... Here again maybe they’re worth more at your shop?

Second time having passenger side door apart, mirrors are substandard. After getting adapter plugs the mirror to plug adapter does not fit. Mirrors are getting sent back. Will have to find new source for mirrors, swbhobie16 you have a source? Frustrated, glad it’s friday!
i’ll see if i can look back and find the order. mine have been on for 2+ years with no issue. both power and heat work on them. sorry to hear you’re having issues with them
Don’t look too hard, I purchased a set from top gear auto sports. Best I can tell they have a better quality unit. We’ll see

Pretty standard in non communist states. Went from undeveloped land to a buildable lot correct JR? Did they give a reasoning for the engineering? Back in Indiana my wife and I did this several times. Largest concern there was water runoff etc.

So spare tire is back in mostly stock location. Couple small modifications... First we had to remove this from under where rear spare is located. It appears Ford engineers thought ahead or I lucked out and one was an off road guy who likes bigger tires? Either way, props to that guy! So in the rear of this limited I can vent this large rear side windows. A larger tire once installed makes contact with that opener and it’s motorized so don’t need a burnt up motor. So I dug around shop and found this rear floor mat from Baylee’s totaled Xj. I doubled it up and stuffed it between tire and rear panel gaining just enough room to clear that window vent opener. Mat may double as a knee pad or traction device in the future. Double win I think?

Yes and this is why you GM guys have it so good, lots more parts out there. Unless its Dodge specific there is a lot more rework to do.
I am going to talk to Advance Adapters today and see what they say.
Phil, they used to have issues with highway duty on those. May have just been an early issue? Seem to recall oil coming out breather or something. Maybe Tate recalls and will chime in? Hard to beat an np205......

^^^ I'm not exactly sure what just happened
In summary, I can tow at 16K Ok, but it does bounce when hitting a divot in the road for a couple of cycles. I have seen these load carrying wedges do wonders for that. They connect the standard spring pack directly to the overload spring at the bottom of the pack without having the spring pack flex that far. Basically you're just increasing the spring rate of the pack a ton without changing its shape. That way the spring acts like it is totally loaded while at normal resting height, so steering, and headlights, and hopefully, shocks all work at a "normal" height.

I'll order a set right now and report on what happens. I think they could be useful to a lot of the folks visiting this forum
I’m curious how they ride w/o a load....

My oldest just received her learners permit. For several hours tonight all three were gone. Two at a concert in the park and the oldest baby sitting. We're down to 6 years and they're all out of the house.
The discussion turned to what remote place we will be moving to when the time comes. Wyoming keeps making the list as does Idaho or even Montana. We're visiting vast expanses if all 3 this summer so we will be taking inventory.
Did you make that trip? icr...or was this before you decided to build where you are now?
Yeah Ken this was way back! We did make that trip and it was before we moved / built house and moved my mom here. Discussion has turned a little, it’s now buy property and cabin within 3 hours drive preferably 2. So that’s NE, WY, CO or NM. I dislike KS and NE truth be told so they’re not really on radar.....

Always had good luck with them. There is one close to my new property too, hope they are just as good.
This one is on major highway near our house and normally always slammed. There is a small one near my shop I might try in the futur as they never seem busy but only a couple bays versus this 8 bay place.

And we just pulled a trailer with 5.4 tons of dense grade gravel about 20 miles. Going up one hill starting at a stop light my truck was starting to spin the rear tires below 25 mph. We pulled at 70mph on the highway just fine. I did notice some bouncing that would continue for several follow on's, so I think I'm going to purchase those wedge devices that connect the running leaf pack to the overload spring.
Wouldn’t a load leveling hitch be a better solution or convert it to gn.....
Nope I just hate those LL hitches Using a pry-bar to lever up two scary square bar steel springs and all that junk hanging off the rear of the truck, then on top of all that they are ball hitches whereas I use a pintle. I like to rig and go, then dump the trailer off to use vehicle like a car afterward.
Have you ever heard of these things I was talking about?
Forces your truck to act loaded the whole time they are engaged.
Well, we used load leveling hitches on 16k bumper pulls on steel hauling trailers prior to wising up and going gn only on pick em up trucks. I’ve never used or witnessed anyone using those fancy wedges. I will agree with one thing you said though. Lots of junk hanging off the rear end of the truck isn’t the best bet..... ahem, ahem, 16k ahem, bumper ahem, trailer ahem, H must be near I’m getting allergic to sum thing Sorry, about that last part something caught in my throat!
