Turner, I’m not sure. Corners are worn pretty good on them but all in all they had a good 1/4” or more of tread across center. Plan was to keep them on until Sept. however we have two camping weekends coming up this summer and it will get loaded with gear and kids so not risking a blow out on used tires. I had noticed prior to buying it that at some point I believe it had a rear drivers blowout as inner fender liner (plastic) is busted up. I had these tires on a 3/4 ton D rated once and lost it coming across Cinci bridge on i75, was not much fun.....

Also worth noting I think these tires have been on there for a few years.

Sorry for your loss Jon, wife coming home is better news though I’m sure.

So today started early, had to have middle daughter to her barista job at 6:50. Since it’s been hot decided I would try to get rest of tile in back yard placed so I could unload pea gravel from trailer. After dropping said daughter off I headed to HD to get patio blocks for under small 5’ sq outside kennel. Picked those up and headed home to find out said 10.5 year old red dog is sick. Puking and diarrhea with blood coming out rear end. Took her to er vet and three hours later left with fluids and meds after paying 350 for services. She seems to be doing better but I held off on rear yard in direct heat/sun and used patio stones as vase for outside trash container holder the commies in the his require us to use if we do t want trash stinking up garage all summer.

Ok, so other than dragging my small trailer around I really haven’t had time to do any upgrades to it. Tires (cooper ATP E rated) should be here this week and after hauling 16 pieces of 16” sq pavers in back if it this morning I’ve decided the old tires will be going sooner than later. Haven’t checked but believe they are D rated at best judging sidewalls this morning on those well worn wranglers (not a fan of those tires btw).

I’ve done further research and banks kit is a waste of money on a v10. I may find a tuner and do the motor and trans with slight tow tune. In addition I checked and this came with 4.30 gears and limited slip rear. Seriously considering a grizzly locker for the rear in this though.

Sure Don will give you a raise. Right Don?

Had the drywall screw issue with my add on. Just electrical but frustraiting.

Most places don't allow runoff into others properties unless it was natural. Wouldn't that be a builder's issue?

Sent from  disneyworld waiting for a bus.

Hilly addition, engineered swail runs behind homes on my side of street. I signed knowing it was there upfront. The home directly behind me added a 3’ high retention wall so he changed his backyard dramatically but reality is same amount of water is still coming from that lot. My bigger issue or his per se is the tile at base behind his wall is not working. Water is leaching our under wall. I made him aware of it. His landscaper told him the tile wasn’t working because he was watering too much.... can’t make this up.

so give us an update on the first 30 days in the new home

28 days as of today

Well, we figured out why upstairs ac keeps going out. Drywall screw in the lines going to upstairs unit. The fix for this is on Monday 4 12” square holes being cut in the walls to run new lines. Frustrating is all I can say.

I have three neighbors uphill from me and 2 of 3 do not understand water usage in Colorado. Will try to get pics later but I’ve spent around $500 between trencher rental and tiling / pea gravel to get a good foundation on our back yard and take care of water which is being dumped on us. For the record I knew about the grades and to some extent the degree of water the back yard would see. The lack of intelligence on neighbors part and their landscapers is slightly frustrating but working through that process. I’m listening more and speaking less in regards to my opinions of things. More along the theory of I can only control what happens in my house.

Moved my mom from Indiana a couple weeks ago. She’s now admitting she has a lot of junk. To which I just nod. She has a list of things she needs done. For record she has lots to do but her priorities all involve me. That seems to be tapering off a bit which is a nice change.

Last of furniture (moms) being delivered today.

Wife hosted a large gathering last night. Smoker took a beating in the move, vent was bent and side shelf is broke, welded improperly. Wish I knew someone who could fix that.....

Lastly, my boss needs to get me a raise as this is expensive.....

I have a recipe for that....jus sayin

So today I did some drivers ed and then painted and installed the railing in the casita and adjusted the sliding shower door so it would stay closed easier.

And now I’m about to go out and get started on a long overdue project to install that Grizzly locker in the Bus....

If I’d have needed them I suppose Tate would have sold them to me

No, always use new bolts. Originals could have stretched. Other thing here is that on certain axles the bolts provided in the Yukon kits are a universal size. What I mean by this is that on certain carrier applications you can use a larger head bolt. However, Yukon kit will send you the one that fits most applications. Not knocking Yukon just telling you how it is, Yukon is a business and building kits to fit most applications makes business sense. Ford 9” install kit comes to mind, I sourced larger head bolts from another supplier.

Well, As usual, I think I don't have all the stuff I need to finish the project.  I measured backlash best I could, and I continually get about 5 thou although that seems tight per the specs on line.  But all the stuff in there looks good and it has 180+k miles on it.

I need a thread chaser for the bolts and holes in the ring gear to get all the threadlocker out and I need to dig out my bearing install cups and see if I have the right size

aaaannnnd my jack on the 20t HF press is busted....

You using new bolts on ring gear?

Never load up the front of the trailer and it will dump whatever you put in it. The first 2-4" of lift doesn't have any mechanical advantage on most of them...
....but they lift higher than yours,  if I looked at your picture right.  Maybe they gave your trailer more mechanical advantage in exchange for a little less lift.

Holes for weight loss? I like the die idea though.

Weight loss and I’ve stood on that bumper with muddy boots or in rain it’s pretty slick. So reverse dimple die’d holes will work for both accounts.

Build Threads / Re: 2008 Jeep Jk 4 Door

So that’s where it ended up today. Yes, I used dimple dies on 3/16” plate. Anti seize on the draw bolt and a big impact did the trick. Large holes take a couple stabs at it, tighten then loosen and retighten worked best.

I tried texting Big D first thing this morning to find out if the HF bedliner was UV resistant? I believe we figured out the meaning of life during those texts but it is still not confirmed on the UV rating of the cheapo bedliner spray available from HF.....

Well, the sheer cost of going from a $8K-$9K purchase in the single heavy bumper pull up to a truck and a trailer.
And this is where it goes from trying to work out something to just impossible.

Now I do appreciate the suggestions but essentially what it sounds like is, "Well we know you want a tent to go camping now and then, but what we really suggest is you buy this plot of land and a camper which you can store on the lot for when you want it. Sure the suggestion sounds like a great idea...so long as one does not consider expense.

I find little dumps which have some time on them and do not need 4-6 tires, an axle rebuilt, a brake job and a set of injectors for $8K. But a decent dump is mid twenties for something that will not kill you in costs. Then the insurance...the commercial insurance is the same as a trailer payment...land then, oh yea, there's the cost of the trailer.

Just not doable, not at all. A trailer that I can pull or nothing at all. That's where I realistically am in all this and what makes sense.

And, PLEASE, no PRETTY PLEASE, no one get insulted or have their feathers ruffled. I really do appreciate the voice of experience. But the reality of each of our situations dictates our own course of action(s)

Which is why the voice of reason (me obviously and definitely not that guy who’s name starts with a K or a D!) said gn trailer....

So some of you may recall back around Christmas an militant editor of a local liberal lbg whatever rag got into it with me on fb and subsequently stalked me on social media for awhile.

So fast forward six months and the better half volunteered to speak at a local public summer concert (they have these free all summer in our town). Part of her responsibility speaking was to name all the sponsors of the event. While going over the details prior to speaking I may have mentioned if it were me that one sponsor might get overlooked.

Needless to say I’m very proud of my better half at the moment.....

So I’ve ordered a few things but have not had time to do anything with them. But the add on list as follows....

Cooper ATP tires 285/75R16 x 5 (tires on it I may run until this fall)

2008 tow mirrors

2005 headlights

And still looking at winches and possibly a hidden winch mount so I can keep stock front bumper

Did find some paint peeling in a couple spots top side so may have it linex’d across top. Have appointment for front window tint. And may just keep spare in rear but laid down on floor then build a cabinet over it with a flip out portion to lay over back rear seat when it is folded down. This would protect seat and make nice flat area for camping equipment storage.
