Quick update, drove the truck several hundred miles so far. Needs shocks, working on getting a set of radflo’s as I’m a dealer. Ordered a set of oem 2005 headlight lenses and will convert them. Looking at new shoes and will have to address the slop in steering. Some of which i think isn’t steering but poor shocks and is adding to poor handling. Thing is a pig and needs some help for the fat girl.

I had 5 or 6 come in for head gaskets , but only one needed it. The rest were egr and oil coolers. Local dealer diagnosed most of these. Smh
At 150k my 04 f350 crew went in for injectors at dealer. Was there for a week and a bill of 3-5k can’t recall exactly. Wife’s dad was in area so dropped wife off to pick it up and she gets 3/4 the way home on a 45 min drive and calls me up. Says I think it’s doing same thing again. I said is it or isn’t it? She says it is and limps it home. They get a call and pick it up, another 2 weeks go by and I get a call your truck is done. So I go in and they hand me keys, no bill or paper work or explanation......

7.3s are tanks.. but dogs.
and from what i’ve always heard the 6.0s were tuned one way from international, but ford got them and turned them up to 360 hp which pushed head bolts and gaskets to their limit.. even though it’s a ‘factory’ tune.
Correct international 6.0L is 200hp FYI

Started with the 7.3s and they didn't have nearly as many issues as the 6.0s.
Are you talking the 7.3 before or after ford bought out international/navstar?
Ford didn’t buy out international, they sued IInternational over the 6.0L issues..... On another note interesting fact. When the first 7.3L turbo diesels arrived at Ford they had 500k warranty tags on them per an engineer I worked with who was employed at Ford (I was still in high school then btw). Ford freaked out about those tags and next thing you know the 7.3L’s had 100k warranties instead.....

Shawn, I haven't heard many gas engine related problems with those, but I have heard plenty of diesel problems with their high pressure oiling systems failing at very inopportune moments. seems like a good thing it's not ford diesel.

I had an 04 f350 crew that tugged our 36’ enclosed exiss alum trailer around for 150K just fine. Then it started having issues and became a money pit........ 6.0L never again

Those excursions are heavy pigs but ride nice because of it. The V10 holds its own, but a Cummins swap turns them into a heck of a rig.
I’ve ran across quite a few of these with 300k on them still going.

Those V10's are all over the place in heavy class C RV's. I have wondered how they would do in a lighter application. I drove one for a month out in the cali desert at Ft. Erwin. Have to say, I didn't like it's weird sound, lack of power or horrible fuel mileage. But betting Ford has vastly improved the thing.

I’ve been considering trucks for awhile now and always wanted one of these. The hand me down Honda Insight hybrid just ain’t cutting it for shop duty. So before it gets too many miles sipping fuel to the tune of mid 40’s per gallon we’re going to sell it to someone who will appreciate it more.
So I threw out a low ball offer over a week ago on this second owner unit. Guy turned me down but asked me for my card then called back to accept the standing offer last Friday. I take my funds to him tomorrow afternoon. Plan is pretty simple for this, tighten up steering (only issue I can find thus far) add some front window tint, roof rack, exterior spare tire carrier and bumper. Possibly front bumper and winch then some additional lighting and new tires with maybe a leveling kit and potential grizzly in the rear at some point. Possible banks upgrades but not sure if I’ll go full kit with headers or just keep manifolds. Use it to haul family / friends and shop supplies / camping gear.

Bobby / Don / whomever, so on the 1911 topic. I owned two and both were gained via trade and they were low end units (can't recall even the manufacturer) I didn't really care for them honestly at the time. I've also been at my old smith's place on numerous occasions where he was either tuning them or trying to fix feeding issues and I do recall one being a high dollar Wilson unit with feed issues. So if a guy were to buy a 1911 in 45 out of the box for under a grand what would you buy? I want in on the competition so lets say I buy to play what do I buy without going broke and add to the inheritance collection?
Save the headache. Buy a glock ;-)

Have a couple, they made it sound as if you weren’t carrying 1911 you couldn’t play. Which is why I asked, have no use for another caliber and a kettle bell that throws lead really....

When I was growing up nothing less than a 3/4 ton (bigger brakes/ axles etc) as they were real trucks. Now the 1/2 ton capacity’s are really surprising.....

JR, I used to put down the miles. Fight thru it and keep chugging coffee. Just ain’t the same, hour nap and I was good for another 5 hours driving or so. For the record the outback seats are not very comfortable. Had me missing my f150 in long drives..

So yesterday I flew to Indiana at 3am. Visited with my Dad in nursing home and then finished packing moms POD rental up along with her Subaru Outback. As of 8pm eastern last night then left for home. As of 6 pm this evening I arrived, all in all drive went ok. Stopped couple of times during night to take an hour or so nap. Glad those drives back and forth are complete. Mom is here and waiting on her possessions to show up in ten days or so.

My grandmother would only water garden with rain water. They had catch buckets on all downspouts at farm.
So you were watering from a hose? City water then went received monsoon. Different water source and probably too much from monsoon.

Too much fertilizer can be an issue too. I probably would not have used that stuff. Transplant then watch and react as necessary.

Amen The left like to label you and stick you in this little box. However, it has nothing to do with being scared or part of an “ism”. It’s a personal preference. Kinda like belts, I like black belts. I really don’t care for brown ones. To me that is a preference. With all that said in God’s eyes I’m sure I am less than worthy the same as a queer. So I choose to try and not cast the first stone.

Dunno. I have a bug to do something not structural construction.
I have a bead on a 2008 F250 frame and both axles. Will start working on a roller with a NV4500 and maybe a 2 speed transfer case to put with the 12V and then figure out what body to drop on it.
Got a lot to learn about straight axle trucks....

Well, he was talking about Don & Don’s built 12v and a sterling. There are a couple things you can do to beef them up though. The money in what Charles is looking at though is the front axle and radius arm suspension.

Nope, dr Horton last home & now Lennar (both in top 3 in the nation for home building). To me it’s not a big deal. I like to pick my handles anyhow. In fact several of the options they did give us for this home I just wasn’t a fan of anyhow.
