Alot of the farms and houses out in the country have those. They aren't too popular with people who have neighbors nearby as the smoke blows into their place. However, if I ever build a house I'm getting one of those. Digging trenches aren't hard.

A lot of places like what I envision Don to have as a home place have restrictions on them that they need to have stacks a certain height to get smoke above neighbors.

Nice thing about those is if you get a large enough door you really don’t need to split much wood

The best ones I ever saw were smart females

Just sayin...

Well, she takes after her momma so she’s smart. Albeit sometimes too smart for her own good. I passed along the info and explained it to her. She’s curious, although she has been looking hard at a law degree thus far.

Sounds like fun Shawn.  My bro in law had a condo on Mt Werner that we used to have access to before he sold it.  Loved downhill mountain biking on Mt Werner.  My first trip of the day was over 40 minutes down the mountain.  My last trip was just about 20 minutes and I blew past kids that looked like they knew what they were doing.....  caused me to wonder if I was a little crazy.

Took the family 3hrs roughly up to steamboat springs. We hiked a couple trails before lunch then ate at a great Mexican restaurant there in town. After lunch we strolled the downtown shops. One downside was all the smoke from a local wildfire that is going on. During our hike we had a chinook fly over head with the water ball.

Long ago my Dad told me something that has stuck with me thru the years. He told me "the problem with you is that you understand how the systems works too well and someday it is going to bite you in the butt." It's amazing how different each child can be in personality. My oldest Baylee takes after me and hardly disagrees with anything I say. In all she is a great kid, hard worker and determined. I couldn't ask for more out of a daughter really. Then along comes Shelby, and she is the most hard headed stubborn and demanding child on the planet. That phrase my Dad stated all those years ago seems to pop into my head weekly when I'm dealing with her. If I say left she says right and has been challenging from day one. Most days I'm pretty happy with her and then there are those other days. In all I have tried to instill a sense of independence with each of my three. Along with that a level head and someone who always questions why, granted that can be irritating sometimes to a Dad who wants it done now and that is all that needs to be stated.

So fast forward to Shelby's freshman year of high school fall of 2018. Baylee is a Junior and the high school in their further left leaning progression has enacted a few new rules. One of which has been a color coded by grade lanyard that is to be worn around the neck of each student. They have always had a student ID, so that is nothing new and it does things for them such as letting them into all home games if you buy that option for your child etc. The new part is the lanyard and having to wear it. Much to Shelby's dismay the campus supervisors mainly Mrs M (think rent a cop but not near as much responsibility and way more energetic) have daily told Shelby to wear this lanyard since school started. Shelby's response has been to say "ok" then not put it on and keep walking. She has always had this god given ability to let things roll off her shoulder, at times it even gets to the point I wonder if she has any ounce of empathy. Truth be known she has a lot and things do bother her but she would never let you know it.

Last spring after the parkland incident there was that whole nationwide school walkout. Well, the liberals in charge here thought it was great and actually promoted the idea. By doing so they kind of dug their own hole a bit. So Shelby since about the second week of school has decided she was going to wage a one man war on the lanyards. What is one to do when they are uncomfortable and do not match your outfit?

Early on her and Baylee came to me and asked for my opinion. I stated well, walk outs are the cool thing now so why not start there? You know use their stupidity against them. We discussed many aspects of the operation. The first and foremost would to be able to deny in case the school admins found out prior and wanted to take retribution. The main problem being Baylee does not have the personality to deny to the death. It's just not in her nature, I told them that if two people know then it's not a secret. Shelby took this to heart and let the discussion die, or so I thought. Early this last week she comes to me privately and had decided in order to protect her older sister that she would be doing this on her own. So knowing the camera system layout and doing her due diligence she had a plan to spread fliers. This is her flier below.

We again discussed her detailed plan and she decided to execute starting on Tuesday. Phase one was to dsitribute these in the girls bathrooms throughout the day. As of mid day she had texted me saying someone was picking up the bathrooms between classes. Her assumption was that it was Mrs M. picking up these fliers. I told her she had better quit for the day. She came home and we discussed phase two which was spreading the word via social media. She set up a privated encrypted account and proceeded to spread the word via a few pages that her fellow students visist daily.

To Shelby's dismay the whole walkout thing never really took off like she had envisioned. Then this morning I get texts from both Baylee and Shelby. "We no longer have to wear lanyards!" Apparently, Mrs M made an announcement over the school intercomm stating it was no longer going to be an enforced policy of having to wear the lanyards. Each student still needed to have their ID on them which was no different than any other year.

So this afternoon the girls come home and Baylee is a bit annoyed we did not include her. I had to explain to her that her little hard headed sister was protecting her and giving her denaibility. Shelby then gave me her theory that the threat of a walkout over these lanyards was enough to make the campus supervisors aka Mrs M back off enforcing this lanyard policy.

Needless to say Shelby all 5'4" of her is walking a little taller at the moment......

So I sell excess stuff on Craigslist. For those that do not it can be quite the experience or headache depending.

As of today I listed a set of snow tires and wheel from my wife’s Lexus. Per the normal you get scammers contacting you who want to send you a certified check and then have you ship them your item via a supposed broker service etc. after you deposit their check. I’m assuming this gives them account info of your bank and allows them to withdraw money? I’m assuming here as I really never took the time to research it. Anyhow I get tired of telling them to pound sand. So now I just tell them yes said item is for sale. Then they ask for my name and address which I have posted below.

Here is my full name and address

Al Coholic
666 Seymour Buttes LN
Hell, MI. 48169

On a similiar note I have a friend who once had an unpleasant run in with a female judge during his divorce. He used to have these scammers send their check to her office.

If I could accurately identify at 400 yards I’m probably pretty good with that. Depending on what I could buy for the money I’m thinking of buying two units and have them set up on ar platforms, potentially one on an ar10 even. And you have time, thinking Black Friday shopping time frame. Need to get jk axle and tire upgrade finished. Looking at aftermarket steering box setup currently and those aren’t cheap either.

I haven’t yet because I’m cheap! I’ve been watching the prices fall for last couple years. Thinking maybe a Black Friday purchase this year. I’d like to acquire a couple, kinda hoping you guys would chime in with some expertise. Thought maybe if I posted in here Bobby might even grace us with his presence.....

I actually just sent you a PM about something completely unrelated. As for NV scopes it's going to depend on:
how much you want to drop
how far you wish to see
how far you wish to see and accurately identify the object that has your attention

Give me some time to look and get some prices and links and I will type something better. So possibly this weekend if you can wait for a somewhat articulate response.

Copy, also sent you a reply

Well, I can't believe it, but John Deere told me to bring the tractor back in for another repair.

They admitted to straightening the deck last time and bolting on some new pulleys and hardware. Further, they acknowledged that the unit was being used properly and should be able to power through the field grass I had it in.

So we'll see how long the repair lasts this time.

The next time I am going to hire an attorney and lemon law the thing

I walked out of my shop floor office to hear plane one hit over the shop radio. At the time no one knew it was a commercial airliner. However many minutes later the second plane hit and confirmed it was no coincidence. We had a small portable tv in the main shop office, all we could get was snow for reception. We were able to make out the smoke billowing out of the towers thru that fuzz and it was eerie to say the least.

Tonya called from our apartment, she was eating rice crispy’s and 3 months pregnant with Baylee. She was a waitress (no degrees of career which seems odd as of today), on the way to work that evening all the gas stations were packed (price gouging had ensued) and I recall her asking if she should get fuel to which I stated no this is people panicking it will subside and it did within a couple days.

The other thing I recall is the conversation with her and how we were having Baylee and the world just changed that day.....

I know I may be deserving of some of the critical observations, but, really, all we have been trying to do is cut heavy field grass with a heavy duty mower/tractor designed to do so.

That cutting deck is junk

I think they advertise it as their 7 iron deck. I think mine only got a 6 iron treatment!

7ga is roughly 3/16, thinking my 60” zero turn was that thick or thicker....
