so, JR, your roxul wont be touching the radiant barrier?, have you thought about a ridge vent, where you cut away the plywood along each side of the ridge beam? Then you just need soffit venting at the lower eaves to get the air moving up along the underside of the plywood and out the ridge?
Just a thought

As I watched the sunrise today in a still free country I was chatting with a friend who has been on assignment in Kazakhstan for 3 years. It makes me humble and proud to be amongst the 1% of the world blessed enough to be born here and live in relative freedom and security. All of this because of some really hard men and women who give up the niceties of life to secure our liberties. People who go to hell hole places on earth and kill vermin who want nothing more than to wipe us off the face of the planet.
Some of those men and women never come back and those that do live with some really bad memories of twisted cultures and sick people and the deeds they’ve done to survive and preserve our way of life.
Today may every man woman and child take a moment to remember those who gave all so we could BBQ in peace today. A seemingly mundane event but built on a foundation of blood sweat and tears.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I did Dave. Thanks. I’ve been working these guys hard and they are all within a couple hundred dollars. Probably gonna use the guys that hassled me less. There is a dealer on the way from Houston to the weekend place that would be convenient and they also happen to be the place that has an RV dealer and they were super helpful when my fifth wheel had to go back to the factory for repairs even though I didn’t buy it from them.

Personally I’d go with plywood. Nate that’s awesome. I’d love anyone of mine to want to play golf. Still fighting a cold but mowed today and then worked in the garden trying to recapture the garden from weeds. Wife and kids have not been keeping up their end. Then did bible study and took a short nap while a rain cam through. Made this towel rack / shelf with the help of the little one Then a little chillaxin Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nate question about making bacon
When you are smoking I assume the temp should be as low as possible and your just trying to get it saturated in smoke?
From a food safety issue meat at temps below 140 for any length of time is no bueno
So does salt play a role in that?
The reason I ask is that I have a smoke tube that puts out a bunch of smoke and I was thinking of maybe not even using the pits flame but just the smoke tube.
Thoughts?

Then, when I'm finished I'll start installing the stud walls in the shipping container and get it ready for insulation at the same time the insulator is spraying the casita. Getting closer to being able to install AC and sheetrock...
Lol. The Sheetrock is for the casita. The shipping container will be finished with 7/16 OSB over studs and insulation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So plumber came out yesterday and started on the rough in. Laid the 2 inch line from the septic to the lift station and put the lift station in the ground. Then proceeded to rough in the waste lines in the casita and will come back Monday to finish. So I started tackling this today. I’m fighting a bad cold and 92 heat and humidity didn’t seem to help. First up. Mark the opening and proceed to cut it out with a small grinder with a cutoff wheel. Makes me wish I had bit the bullet and got a plasma cutter. But it got done. Then clean up the leftover welds on the base beam and clean the paint off the edges where I’ll be welding. Door is metal with a metal knock down frame. Then start mocking up the sub frame out of 2x4 square tube Then install the frame and door. Got the left side plumb and installed and then on to the right and then lastly the top. wow, you clowns are a real help :tongue
So I blew off the chevy dealer. GM is not pushing the incentives on their higher end models.....and this quickly escalated from a cloth interior daily driver to another house purchase.
So I'm working 4 dealers on a white (yes you boneheads, not red) Denali Ultimate package. I can't get a straight price quote from anyone. Dealing with 20 year old " internet sales managers" and other people who give used car salesmen a bad name. I especially love the young girls who wouldn't know a 6.2 from a 5.3 if you showed it to them on the sales pitch sheet.....
First one who gives me a deal that doesnt have some fine print like you must be coming off a buick lease! (really) I'll probably just show up and hand them my wallet and tell them to get it over with.
On top of that I'm getting a cold from all the sick people I was stuck in a metal tube with wings for 3 hours this week.......

Lol. She’d be wrapped around the axle
So here’s the decision point I could use some help with
Dealer has a fully loaded LTZ Z71 that the manager drove as a demo and I’ve got him down to 48 plus ttl which is 11,700 off sticker.
GMC is offering 11000 off the loaded denali but it would still be 54 +ttl
The Denali has the 6.2 but I don’t know if I need it. The Z71 has dvd rear entertainment and 20 inch wheels instead of 22s on the gmc
That’s still 6k to buy up to the Denali and I’m not sure it’s worth that much.
Thoughts?

Let’s get it on and get it over with. All of Jerusalem belongs to the Jews. It wasn’t until 633 AD that the Muslims even had a movement
The romans laid waste to that temple in 70ad. The Palestinians have no right to any of that land.

Yeah. Then there’s that. Fortunately I don’t travel often (relative to other roles in my company)
Most of my travels serve to scout out opportunities for getaways with the wife. Charleston is nice and is now on the list.

What gets me about multi vehicle ownership is the maintenance. Even if you farm it out the scheduling is brutal when you work 60-70 hours a week.
Fewer would be simpler.
Of course my boy Nate points me to the Denali ultimate. Now I’m even considering something other than red :eek

Wife won’t let me paint her van......
I may keep the LB7 just to play with it. I have a LB7 block crank and heads coming in July.
Could do a SAS, lockers, 4:11s and some mud grapplers and then go play with the Jeep boys .....
But likely I’ll just stop digging. I was told if you find yourself in a hole that’s the first rule of order.....I’ve got over $40k in it and would be lucky to get $15k out of it. Any takers??

New truck - what color will it be? ;)

I'll keep the dually for the weekend place and when I need to haul something heavier than I'm comfortable with in the 1/2 ton. And you don't even need to ask the second question not the dealer I'm working with but just an image I grabbed off the net

Thanks Shawn. I think GM has some good incentive to move the 2018 with the 2019 coming soon and a new body style.
that eco boost is a powerful engine, just wonder the longevity of the twin turbo v6 turned up that high

So thinking of rewarding myself. Either a nice watch or another truck.
Thinking 1/2 ton gasser crew cab 4wd as a DD and parking the dually at the ranch.
Not sure I like the 2019 and may be able to get a deal on a 2018 Chevy/GMC.
I’d like to be able to tow 7000-8000 without turning 6000 rpms
Thinking 5.3 or would you guys recommend the 6.2
Might even consider cloth seats and cover them with ballistic seat covers so I can remove and wash them
Wondering how the Silverado compares to the Ford F-150 in terms of price and equipment and longevity?
Thoughts ?
