Bobby, Might be a little of the camera angle but yeah she was leaning too far back. She is very much a rookie and 20.. so my goal was just to keep the muzzle pointed down range. :)

True, down range is always appropriate. Nothing wrong with being a rookie, everyone was at some point in their life, as long as she's willing to learn and improve it's somewhat easy learning curve.
So, Bobby...being the calculating trained warrior NCO that you are.  Take the appropriate action, Execute!
your standard grunt level CQB is just putting rounds and rounds on scary stuff till it stops scaring you!

We spent really little time there. Road bikes in the AM, skiing when hot, drinking and pool at night, seemed the border patrol liked to chase me, never caught me.

more like sea of dead!  or Tweaker Beach now, I fly a lot over there and some places are not good places to be.

That's too bad. I have always wanted to see the Salton sea and boondock at the slabs. I guess since I read the book Into the Wild.

Had a short but sweet conversation with Tate while I was boarding a plane to Miami today.

Probably not a bad idea but I’m not DD this thing so quite a bit of the mileage is either straight line highway or on gravel

Next up will likely be a shackle flip and an e or air locker for the front.  This will never be a crawler but it will see some muck and trails.

That will complete the suspension/driveline portion of the complete rebuild as everything else has been replaced or rebuilt.

Then I can focus on building the block I have sitting out back of the shop.  It will be an LBY/LLY heads and compound turbo with 40 overs most likely.  Driveable reliable and 650 to the wheels is the goal.

More wood working today

Might not look to exciting but the home owner wanted to cover the top of her kitchen cabinets so you couldn’t see the top when she came from her upstairs.  Who ever remodeled deleted her planter boxes that hid them,  we glued up some massive alder tops to cover it all up

Put some new chrome on my Pete. The old stacks were all rusted out and cracked at the bottom. Went stainless steel this time. The lowest door I have to go through is 13 ft so I cut them off at 12ft 8.

Jon. Stacks look good. Is that a m359? Love that model. The other morning coming to work I saw an older Cabover Pete with a 40' stainless refer trailer heading north on I94. That brought back some 1980's memories.

It's a 379 long hood. I mainly pull a 50 ft grain trailer and a 48 ft side dump. Occasionally I pull a 53 ft drop deck flat bed and a detachable low boy. We are working on the pusher right now. The bolts came lose and egged out the holes. You can see the shiny part where the arm works back and forth. They quit making this style so no parts available. We have come up with a plan. I will post more on that later.

Love the old conventional Petes, SS is by far better than chrome, just needs TLC.

When I did that we had several V12's with straight pipes.

Thoes old bins load slow. We put this together on the other side of the road over the past couple years. Four 20,000 or so bushel bins 2 over heads and then the two 75,000 bushel bins. We don't have a dryer though. Talked about it, budgeted for it. Found out how much it would cost to hook into the natural gas line 3 miles away. Decided we didn't need it so bad after all.

Got the large pieces installed yesterday

I’ve got it all buttoned up for home owner

She is now happy that when she walks down her stairs she doesn’t see all that cabinet mess.   Now she needs to get a ladder out and dust

The farmer my dad and uncle work for ditched their propane tanks a few years ago and ran a natural gas line about 10 miles.  There were a quite a few houses on the route that hooked up also to drop the cost.

Made it back from Miami today.  The weather was beautiful.  I'm too pasty to be a beach guy but it was perfect for me.  60 at night and 80 in the day.  Nice breeze and sun.  Did a little cruising on A1A and Ocean drive today before heading back.

Looking forward to getting my Grizzly locker in the mail tomorrow!  Realistically it will probably sit in the shop for a month before I get around to installing it....

Trying to get the rest of the corn out today. I somehow threw out my back and blew out the zipper on my coveralls within 5 minutes of each other. So I'm stuck lining up trucks and running the auger tractor. this last little bit is going in flat storage.

Found this large and heavy box on the porch yesterday.  Haven't opened it but I suspect its a grizzly locker.....

Today I have a buddy coming over to help finish the structured wiring, installing cameras, and move all the AV equipment to a central wiring closet in the casita.

Still no exact ETA on the staircase....

Nate, a bit cool down here this year so am waiting a bit to go for a boat ride. The ramp area is still open but no rangers around but the area is clean and someone is cleaning the area. The ramp and parking is inside the National Lake Mead Recreation area is  managed by theNational Park Service. Was a bit of a hassle coming down looking for places to park for food and sleeping. A lot of motels said I would have to park out on the street, and that just was not an option, for me anyway.

Yup, the boat and pickup would take 3 spots at least. I  ended up staying at a casino in Redding and at Tehachapi up by the Denny's store. If I had known the CHIPS would give me 65 I could have done one overnight and been down here.  I always thought they gave the truckers 62 but held the RV's and other trailers to 57 or so. California is such a pain to drive through, but not as high elevation as the other options and I don't like pulling in the snow.

Tate, who is saying I didn’t???

Ken I’d be leery. I had the exo grapplers on the dually and they are hard as a rock , wear like rock, ride like rock. Started out ok but became hard to balance and a little noisy.

They touted those as commercial grade/tougher construction.

The nearly identical tire (ridge grappler) they released right after has been a smashing success. It doesn’t have the same hard construction which was apparently the trade off

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

So the Toyo is probably the same construction,  just different tread than the Exo's?
Ridge Grapplers are on the short list . I really like how solid the Trail Grapplers have been,  although wearing fast..but they tow better than the other ones I've had...like rock solid in the corners,  for being 35s.
Just looking for something to put on the stock 20s...thinner and shorter for longer trips. Never thought I'd say this but I think the Grabber X3's, that Norm likes, look a little too aggressive,  and they're 70lbs in the size I want.

Underpaid and misunderstood since 2014
