The search for the perfect multi tool

I have found a need to purchase a multi tool like the leatherman pliers and other useful tools in one package

What I have found it that the price can very from $150 and well below. 

What have your men experienced with these? Favorites brand and model and list the reasoning please

I have the Leatherman Super Tool 200 (precursor to the 300 I guess) and the Leatherman Wingman. The Super Tool is definitely heavier so use that when I am doing stuff around the house and know I'm likely to need it. But I like the lighter Wingman for something to have on my belt for those times when I won't likely need something but if I do I have something. If that makes sense.

Kind of like having a huge SAK that I only occasionally carry buy my (light) folding Gerber or Buck knives go everywhere.

No for multi-tools just the 200 and the Wingman. I like them both but as I said for different reasons. The 200 is definitely a stouter, heavier tool. The Wingman is lighter and has less girth. I prefer the 200 for doing things but its weight leads me to leave it behind fairly often and instead carry the Wingman. It all depends on if I KNOW I'm likely to need a tool (in which case I carry the 200) or if its a MIGHT need a tool which for that means I carry the Wingman.

Clear as mud right? ha.  ::)

I have the wave, is it perfect? Probably not, however it was priced right (gift from steel vendor). I will say the $10 upgraded Chinese leather holster is worth the money & the tool hasn't left me stranded ever.

I have been using a Leatherman Wave for ages. It has never let me down and I use it a lot. Just yesterday I used the serrated blade to cut some conveyor belt...above it's design parameteu but it got it done.

As a side note... I actually own two. I had one for many years and I lost it. So I bought another, then about a year later found the one I lost while fixing my driveway from flooding. Even laying underground for a year, I just soaked it in oil, wiped off the mess, and it's good as new.
