I heard the funniest thing this afternoon
« on: January 18, 2017, 06:28:33 PM »
So i was asked to check out this vehicle and what my thoughts on it were.

http://www.gamblinmotors.com/VehicleDetails/used-2002-Chevrolet-Silverado_2500HD-Extended_Cab_Long_Bed_LT-Enumclaw-WA/2917895013

So i called this window licker named peter that works there and asked him about this truck.

- He flat out refused to tell me what their stealership was into this truck for because it was a trade in and it was still going thru their service dept and not officially being posted yet.....
- i asked him if he was stone cold serious about the $18k price tag and he said they were......
- i asked him if the injectors had been replaced yet (truck has something like 145k) and he asked my why that would matter........
- i asked him if the pump rub has been fixed on the transfer case and he again asked me why that mattered......
- i told him that i would come in there right now with $10k CASH and he said that his boss would not be happy with that insult........

.......smh

Too many clicks have driving the price up to $19k!!! They'll just wait around for some ignorant snowflake to come buy it sight unseen. I've noticed salesmen don't like educated buyers. Makes me want to slap that guy though. Welcome to car shopping in the PNW brother.

It's a 2002.......too old to finance easily. Honestly, not even sure that would bring 10k around here.

Some kid will get his daddy to buy it for him. I like to ask for the last owners info and give them a call. If they don't have it or wont give it walk away.

I have never thought of doing this, but would think there would be some privacy issue with giving out the previous owners info.

You could have the dealer call and let you talk with them.

my recent truck buying experience was the first in almost 6 years. as in the past, i walk in there knowing everything but pretending to be dumb. some of their answers to questions are hysterical.

I ran the plate on a caprice I bought at auction. Found it was a was from a local county and called the corp yard about it. Bought it for the engine, tranny was in the trunk blown, only thing wrong with it.

Anyone can run a plate via DMV. Some states easier than other. True though at that time it was MUCH easier for me.
