Very cool...I wish I had done that with my kids but I don't think it's too late. Cool idea. I remember hearing that my friends got money for grades in school....I did the same as this kid and went home and explained it to my parents...$10 for an A, $5 for a B etc... I got the same reaction from them..."nope...we EXPECT you to get A's and B's...you don't get rewarded for it". And while a little different (not success books) they paid me to memorize things...The Gettysburg Address...the preamble to the Constitution, the Declaration of Independance. It's funny....at the time I "just" memorized it...I don't think I fully grasped it's meaning.... (so maybe memorizing it AND writing a report would have been better).....but since then having it fully memorized meant I also internalized it. And so often I refer to it in my mind when I'm questioning things are govt is doing and think...."hey wait a minute...."
