« on: April 21, 2017, 12:43:42 PM »
whats the deal with the leaky transmission hose coming off the radiator on the LBZ's?

whats the fix for it, and does anybody happen to know if DF or DD has a DIY on how to fix it?

I did the 5/8" lines about 200k ago...
Had to do an o-ring change on one of the rad hoses once, I screwed something up don't remember for sure what/why.

A bit of a pain in the butt getting it all routed and back together, but no leaky ever...

Whatever they cost these days, well worth it.

Bought the alligator lines and did it myself after attempting a DIY.  I explosively changed the fluid in the transmission twice at highway speed.  The only benefit was I now have an undercoating.

If you do any towing in excess of a few thousand pounds if get the heavy ones.
I think the smaller lose a bit of flow from what I've read.
If you're towing in any kind of heat, flow is your friend.

I replaced mine last year before I drove to LA, out the stock line back in.

Many write up on it. I did the Alli 1/2 lines. It is not a quick job, not hard either.

Your stock lines are 1/2, the aftermarket 1/2 neck down to 3/8 at fittings.

If I did it again I would repair the stock lines with fittings keeping full flow.

That was the issue. And the reason I went with the 5/8 lines I suppose.

I'll agree with not hard but takes some time.
