Tate, I don’t pay attention to Ken any longer. But if I only had Ken’s money, maybe he’s working for the foundation now?

SOoooooo, as if I needed another project atm. I was tired of looking at this heavy piece of tube and I am looking for a good used 4 post lift that need to reside where this was laying.

I also had access to a forklift today and decided I need to get this free standing column fabricated for the second bay shop jib crane. If I get projects completed it frees up floor space I guess

Speaking of foundations. Started this the other day. Was always planned, to continue the main slab westward to extend the shade out that way, over the 45' container on the right. It's aluminum and gets about 150* in there.
Slab will be 30x48 but only doing 20x48 until I can figure out where to move the white box van on the left.... that I just put there a few months ago.... that's also completely filled with crap.

I’d say your got one heck of a deal Ken. 8k for that trailer is a really fair price

Been looking since the other trailer I have progress has stopped.  That’s about 12k here

Hopefully Shawn, but shade is the priority.

They're about 12k here also Dave (big Tex, Lamar, pj, etc). This one they had a list price of 10, on sale for 8 because it's a 2019 (built in November of 19 tho)

Go straight to Kaufman online. Pretty basic trailers, but built heavy duty. One of the few places that's factory direct.

It wasn't a dig at Shawn. I was just referring to my other trailers.

I didn't go all in, mainly because I'm not ready for a dually yet. This one is 22,500gvw. 10k axles. Only 20' plus 5' dovetail... but the wedge ramps make it a useable 25 footer.

Local company has Kaufman build them to their specs and put their stickers on, and still a couple grand cheaper. It's basically a 26k trailer w/10k axles.

Funny you mention that Dave
....not 15....8
Yeah that would get you pulled over in Texas by DPS.  26000 max cgvwr including truck before CDL required.  They usually pounce on the guys with dual wheel trailers and no DOT sticker

In any event, nice trailer, nice score.  I almost bought a 40 ft one like that when I had the dually.  Friend was selling it cheap but I didn’t want to hassle with the class A

Same here Charles. Guess we'll see what happens and make sure I'm not hauling for money and maybe they'll be nice?
Az has a not so clear personal use exemption listed, besides the RV one.

Funny, one of my buddies hauls a 44' fifth wheel, with a 24' car trailer out back, and never been stopped. Over 65' without the truck. Smh
Last week the rear trailer came off of the ball (wrong ball) and dps stopped to help him....

And you went auto transmission for ease of working conditions or because employees lack of ability? When I was working, almost everything except the heavy equipment hauler was supporting an automatic. Heavier, and more expensive at startup but money saved on repairs and proper operation offset the costs.  We didn't hire drivers/operators, we hired laborers, some with experience some with none. Good drivers and operators would starve to death on the entry level pay rate, but you couldn't convince management.

I went auto because when we are running the side dump trailers there are lots of short loads in soft ground. We might haul 20-30 loads and only drive 200 miles a day. I think it is going to be easier on the drive train. Smoother starts. No clutch at all. My last truck was a 18 speed. That's great for long haul but when you are loaded heavy drive 2 miles then stop sign. Go one mile, turn, 2 miles turn again, go a half mile then turn in a field. Bounce a half mile across said field. Dump and go back to where you start. That's a lot of shifting.
This has an Allison fully automatic transmission. Exactly like the one behind a Duramax in pickup trucks only much bigger. This isnt the first Allison on the farm. We have a silage truck that I use to haul grain with. It's awesome I love it. I would load 100,000 lbs and it would just crawl out of the field.

Well made some almost no knead bread.
Started it last night.
3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp yeast
10.5 ounces water.

Knead about 10 times to get all the flour.
Proof it 8-18 hours.
Knead about 10 times and form into loaf.
450 oven covered for 30, uncovered for 5.

It’s pretty dang good and zero effort to make.

Not unlike Nate was a deck day for me.
Unlike Nate I went all in as it was the project, not a siding job too.
Demo was skill-saw and sawzall.

I went right to the support structure which to my happiness was still sound.

Some of the rotten crap.

COB tonight. Started to rain again too so timing was spot on.

Pump in with few issues. Changed several of the elbows to sweepers to reduce flow resistance.

This pump really cranks, 25 psi at full speed. Old Pentair only was around 10-15 with clean filters.

Now I need new gutters, the old ones leaked and dripped on the old motors.

Now I can repair the solar, been to cold for me, just 75-80, I like 10 warmer. I have a gas heater, but that's a big project.

I purchased an adapter for fifthwheel -goose neck today $65 bucks.    Now I can move the trailer and get it to a place lots closer to the garage to work on.
Now I need to drag it to the cabinet shop to toss the poop tank into the dumpster

Looks great Sam.

Speaking of trailers...
I didn't like how the dovetail planks met the deck planks on the gooseneck.
Seems like a place where the wood might get destroyed, so I beveled and widened the joint to fit in a thick walled pipe. This will also allow the future winch cable a place to drag across.
