You should just buy a farm in Kentucky. I’ve got fiber to the house running at 1 Gbps. Of course, when all the kids abs my wife are doing schoolwork, checking Pinterest and looking at build videos on YouTube, it still makes my work slow down a little.  I usually just take that to mean I’m supposed to take a break.

Same thing happened with my coworker, she was told late 2022 and got it last month. Makes me wonder if he pushed up deployment after spinning it up faster than planned for Ukraine.

A coworker recently got star link set up at her place in Michigan, she’s getting 500 down as well. It’s really an awesome system from the reading I’ve done.

On another front, I just got two new drivers in the household, and luckily they both have jobs and are responsible, so they can pay their insurance and gas.

I’m with you Nate. I was never given a tent unless it was a real rough deployment where I had to share accommodations with others. I once even had to share a villa with four other people in Riyadh. Usually we had our own hotel room and all the accompanying furnishings…..

Oh, you mean you weren’t even given a tent like that would have been better. Sorry, can’t comprehend, what with all my blue privilege being Air Force. ;)

Installed a 50 amp outlet in the garage, my sons bought a welder to play around with and build things. Also installed some book shelves in them main room of the house. These are 18 ft long and currently only hold about half of our books.  So I’ll probably be installing another set in the not too distant future.

My brother’s wife decided she needed a new car because their 2009 Honda Pilot had a couple of issues. The transmission won’t shift into overdrive and the cabin heat doesn’t work.
So it has joined my small fleet of vehicles, it’s the EX-L with 188k miles, 4wd, and in pretty good condition. She said she got taken by a con artist when she was having computer issues with it and he took her money and her car. When she eventually got it back the computer issues were gone but the transmission issue had appeared. They didn’t want to pay money for a replacement transmission so they gave it to me.  Ill pull codes tomorrow after church, a friend is bringing his scan tool. I’ll poke around and probably start a separate thread depending on what it needs.

Typically the $100 limit only applies to debit transactions. If you push “no” or whatever the terminal says when it asks for your debit pin, it will normally default out to a credit transaction and there is either no limit or at least higher. YMMV

I had the oil change light come on in the L5P today on my way in.  Weather to take it to the dealership or crawl under it myself.

Choices and more choices

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You should do neither of the above options. You should think outside the box, or like Don, take the box, fill it with tannerite and shoot it.

Dealership costs money, crawling underneath is just uncomfortable. Install a lift and youndont have to Go to the dealership or crawl, and you make more use of your beautiful garage.  Problem solved.   :)

In the spirit of being helpful and giving, instead of trucking your new munching head down tot eh farm to test it out and find any issues, you can just bring your SVL and the cutter head here to my place (it’s closer to the dealer and your house) to test it out for a few days and see if your like the results. If so, great!!  If not, I’ll just need to hold onto it for a few days to clean up the mess.  ;)

Good catch, that's unreasonably cheap!
I remember when my mom went to the other two big games they were in. I think the tickets were closer to $500, which still seems like a high price to me. But, to each their own, if you make the money, you can choose where to spend it.

Well, all the children are handling the horse’s death really well. Contacted a dead animal removal company and found out that the county has a program through the conservation district to reimburse the charges for having large animals picked up. It apparent to keep people from having to just dump them in the woods or the nearest creek bed because of cost to remove. The gentleman was very helpful and came down this afternoon and took Jasper away. Pretty much all done except for the guilty feelings of not getting to him and caring for him sooner, but I know that is just normal regret.

On the more positive side, I found out that the Steiner can easily pull a 1000 lb dead weight behind it without even getting taxed.

Picked up a new(to me) oven/microwave combo the other day and installed it. It is only three years old and the two older ladies that lived in the house barely used it. They removed it last year doing a remodel of their kitchen and it sat in the basement until they need to sell it to me because God is good. Only paid $900 versus $4k for a new one and got it the next day instead of waiting months. Looks good as new and works perfect. Not to mention it was what the wife wanted. Blessed on so many fronts with this transaction.

Yeah, there is power all the way through the whip, through the fuses and into the control panel. So not too sure past that point. I’m sure there is probably a transformer in there somewhere to bring it down to whatever voltage the panel needs, so maybe that’s fried, but I don’t want to throw to much money at a 15 year old unit.  I don’t mind poking around and looking at it before is spend the money though

Looking for a new wall oven/microwave combo. The old one apparently got fried when I switched the main breaker back on while installing the laundry pair last week. Checked the main fuse and the thermal fuse on the oven itself and they are good, thinking the control panel got fried. It’s 16 years old and was in the house when we moved in four years ago. Why do all expenses come in bunches?!? V. Didn’t expect to be spending an additional 3-4 grand right now.   Oh well, gotta do what ya gotta do.

I spent the last two hours of my day wrestling this together

Transport guy called in,
Loaded a mini X breaker hammer into the rubber tire skiddy, backed that on up there.
Dropped all the buckets to the mini 50 next to the trailer so I could reach it from the deck with the mini.
Chained up the 350 bucket and drug it on to the trailer with the mini and tipped her over flat, picked up both my mini buckets.
If our 350 Deere is full of fuel I have to get a over weight permit or leave the small bucket behind so picked that up,

I cleaned out the chain box except two binders and one chain I wouldn’t strap a ATV down with.

Then blasted down i-15 northbound home

Compressor on one of the heat pumps at the house decided to throw a rod or something this morning. Nearly twenty year old unit, so getting it completely replaced. While the local building mechanical crew was here, got a price on a new heat pump for the little house. I’ve been making do withe the mini split I put in three years ago but it can still get mighty chilly when it can’t find any heat to pump in the dead of winter.

So long story short, I’m a bunch of money lighter than I was this morning when I woke up…or at least I will be in the next few days.
