I own several confederate flags and did before they were ever an issue. One of them was draped over my fathers coffin at his civil war themed funeral ( grew up civil war reenacting ). Its just my opinion but the war of northern aggression had little to do with slavery.

I ask because I am around some folks who take the topic pretty serious, mostly against the removal of the flag. Just a topic that I found odd that we are so far removed from it. But I see and recognize the importance of the topic as a stepping stone to the removal of other things

Eventually I foresee war memorials like Vietnam getting demolished/removed because people disagree with what they "stand for" if this sort of thing keeps progressing.

Tate that was along the lines the group was discussing, how do we protect our nations history, even if it's not maybe so pleasant, We still have museums for the holocaust, kids still learn about WW1 and 2.

From my perspective, history is just that, history. It should be presented objectively to learn from, however terrible or terrific it may be. Subjective history belongs to the commies.
