Request for prayer
« on: March 19, 2015, 07:47:49 AM »
My sister in law, Bev who just finished chemo-therapy and was found cancer free in November has had a severe relapse. Multiple spots in her liver this time, inoperable. Very aggressive cancer, normal medicine (Doctors) say there is a chance of slowing it down but no cure...
Please lift her up for God's will in all this and if healing is in the plan then for that to happen, and if not, then for peace and no suffering
Thank You

I pray for her peace, and that of her loved ones' and their understanding of her Father's decisions. May He be with you through these times as always.

Update: This has to be the fastest cancer I have ever seen. In just days it has spread to her stomach, bones, we think her brain and who knows where else. It doesn't matter, though. Hospice says she has 3-4 days tops. My wife and our girls are up there. I am holding down the fort with the boys, but will probably punch out soon...
She is on morphine and barely conscious, probably best that way.
She is saved!

Don, a true Christian faith indeed knows He orders all things, and all things for His glory.  It's good to see prayer request for His will to be done and not just for our selfish worldly motives.  I am praying that His will be done for your sister-in-law and that He provide comfort for you and your family in this trial.

A couple of verses for you, Don.

Job Chapter 1, v20 Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head, and he fell to the ground and worshiped. 21 He said,

“Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
And naked I shall return there.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away.
Blessed be the name of the Lord.”

22 Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God.

 2 Corinthians 5:8 (NASB)

8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Joshua 6:20-24

Thank all of you for the prayers. Bev passed yesterday morning.

Let me share a little story of faith.

My wife was at her bedside when Bev went to heaven. Kathy said her mouth was open and she was white and had a neutral stare. For some reason I was reading scripture about dying and going to heaven, it was as if I was compelled to read it. I was in Kentucky with the boys, she in Chicago.

While reading in the bible, I had this scene in my mind's eye of a much younger Bev, very beautiful, standing in a white dress with her hand stretched out and standing there opposite her was Jesus.

I was thinking that, it just appeared in my mind. A moment later, Kathy texted me "She's gone."

I immediately started texting the verses I was reading to my wife. She later told me that they all started singing praise songs and praying out loud at Bev's bedside. Right before their eyes, although she was dead, Bev's mouth slowly closed and a slight smile formed and some color came back!!!!!!!!

Funny, but our prayer was for a miraculous healing if that were God's will, but for a quick passing if not. We got door number 2. This thing came on so rapidly, the time of suffering was very limited. I think our prayers were answered!

Praise our Lord!

My condolences Don, she is with our lord now and that is a wonderful and pain free place. Still praying for your family during this time, sometimes even though we know the better place they are, those left behind are left to bare the pain.

Back from vacation and just catching up now- I'm sorry for your loss, thankful for your answer to prayer about speed and mercy.  It's amazing how one of The Lords passing can be like a burst of light washing over all involved simultaneously, across 100s of miles of this earth.
