Title: First antelope hunt
Post by: longball on January 03, 2017, 09:47:41 PM
Maybe I'm missing a section but I couldn't find anywhere else to put this. My wife and I decided that we would take our fathers on a western hunt this fall (if we can draw tags). We have decided to try Wyoming antelope first. This way, if we suck at it, we won't be out the small fortune it takes to hunt elk. None of us need to kill trophy animals, we just want to provide a good experience for two great men. So, my question for y'all that have done this is; what are some things you wish you knew before you went on this kind of hunt? Which methods did you use to research/find areas to hunt? In general, any information you have will be greatly appreciated.

Tried to pm you with my phone number for you to call but didn't work.

There are some areas that are better and easier to draw than others, and a lot of the antelope hunting is easily done, meaning a lot of road hunting, or pulling up to a field and downing a goat. When I hunt, I typically do it for meat, so easiest route to success is what I look for.

Non resident applications have to be in between 3 Jan and 31 May, for antelope.
