I'm with ya Bobby. Wow is all I'll publicly say. Wow.

Yea, me too, that's crap!

I do. Shame on them. Shame on the lousy, new age millennial narcissistic parents, Shame on the photographer for not speaking out before it became what it was, rather than waiting for the sensationalized photo op. I applaud the Veteran in the wheel chair in the bottom right for keeping his demeanor and not lashing out at them as would be his well deserved right. I am saddened that the question even needs to be posited; "Innocent or insensitive?". There is no question. This should have been a bonding parenting moment to teach a child about our history and hero's, our country and many sacrifices made to maintain it. Instead they were probably more concerned about uploading instagram and facebook pictures of their kids on their vaca.

"as parents encouraged their kids........" -most stupid/tragic events go back to the lack of, or irresponsible attitude of parents. Just look at Ferguson........

Very well stated. I'm reminded of Christ's words. "Forgive them Father for they know not what they do" Which is an indictment in and of itself.
Lets remove the Vietnam aspect for a moment. Let's say it was any public work of art or marker. It's still beyond my parental comprehension that you would allow your children to climb on a public object. I can only hope that like so many maligned innocent figures (e.g. Darren Wilson) the public tracks them down and embarrasses them into seclusion.
