I understand man, it isn't the tires as much as the fiberglass fender flares that would get me in trouble.
I did notice GM went back to round pipe type hitches again. Granted they are much larger than the ones that had so many problems but have to wonder why they did that. My trailer is darn close to the 1,500 max tongue weight at times depending how I load it. The dump trailer, well it has never been across the scales. The 2011 had the square tube hitch and I never had a problem. The truck before that had the round tube hitch and it was replaced under warranty once and then I bought a good Reese hitch to take care of the problem. I just hope this new truck does as good as the 2011 which other than a couple glitches with the DIF fluid was a darn good rig.

For the record, I've broken sq tube Reese hitches. Granted it was on a ford (not that that matters) & well we always overloaded those steel trailers. Back before DOT came down on us all the time. The hitches usually outlasted the trailers as I always had to reinforce where the a-frame came out from under the front deck of the trailer. They always tended to bend and tear at this point. With all that said the constant pounding of heavy trailers bouncing is what breaks stuff on bumper style hitches.

That is all true Shawn, but I do know a guy that can build me one if it comes to that. I just think the square style is stronger than round but school is out on that right now. I am close to manufactures weight requirements, but my wife doesn't know all that stuff and she packs for whatever it is and I am not going there right now.

So, Bob, did you keep the 11 and purchase the 16 as well?

Or trade the 11 in on the new one?

I like the color and the look of the latest one!

Hey Don, I did trade in the 11, they gave me 32,000 for it. This truck has a few more creature comfort items too if that matters, and no I won't be taking a bunch of stuff off of it to void the warranty.

Kyle, I looked at the Curt class 5 today, and darn it they are using a round tube also. It almost looks like GM is using Curt to build their hitches. Maybe I will be ok. Funny, buy a one ton truck just to be on the safe weight side and have to worry about a hitch bending or tearing away.

Bob you're probably fine. The only ones I've heard issues with were the old body styles, and those were probably way overloaded to boot

That could very well be, the truck I had with hitch problems was a 07 classic so the old body style.

Never an issue with my 06, but haven't pushed the limits with it either. The Ruenel bumper should address any issues.
