Pretty good brand
Expensive unit
Generally I think TD is second to Hypertherm in quality and usage out in the field

Trn is correct but I would look at that unit for that price. Boards go out on them is biggest issue, fyi

Ah, just noticed it has the 180 degree torch, more for automation.  A replacement 90 degree torch makes it not such a good deal.

I'm also finding these

Don't know anything about the hobarts. We ran hypertherm on our large CNC tables & Lincoln pro cut 55's for hand held units. Local friends of mine ran TD in their shop as hand held units, I know they replaced board once.

Ok. Got a guy down to $900 for a Cutmaster 51 that is very lightly used. What do you guys think?

If it tests ok I'd buy it at that price.

I can tell you this, we burnt up a board on our Lincoln Pro Cut 55 (or the owner had us burn it up). The reason we burnt it up was because of improper use. Our torch setups were our on a large fab job offsite. We had some parts if I recall correctly they were safety stops used on auto conveyor lines in big three manufacturing. These stops had 2" shafts and were the final fail safe on the line. If a car on the conveyor took off out of control these would stop the car from launching off the rack. Anyhow a few were welded up backwards and we needed to salvage the pins as they were a special something something something material. So normally we would use the torch to cut them out and save the shafts. Didn't have those so the owner decided to have us use the hand plasma, problem is when it arcs at an angle it heats things up and fried the board after a couple pins, $500 bill. Owner got a good lesson, we tried telling him before but it was his equipment......

I have a Cutmaster 42 I got used for $600. Very happy with it so far. Dual voltage and was like new.

It has worked great but I don't push it with my jobs.
