Those poor guys are only looking for a days work...Give them a break, isn't that what the USA is all about????? While my son was in the brush business, it was the circle K to find day labor.

Build Threads / Re: LML Silverado Duramax C-Max build thread part 4
    « on: March 22, 2018, 04:00:48 PM »

You already have the bumpers, upgrading winches adds little weight if any.

Roof rack, a hundred or so until you load it up Don style,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sure glade I have the LBZ, but I understand wanting the pump and ally upgrade.
I have a skinny little 9K winch on the front
A 16.5 will add from 100 to maybe 120 more there
Push bar uprights with two cross bars and wings, maybe 80

Roof rack is #75 (I have built over a half dozen...) and additional reinforcing, maybe #20 more

Two 2" X .120 wall hoops is an easy 80-100

Placing some steel under the front back to the crossmenber, then under the trans, Xfer case and fuel tank is #200

A 10 K winch in the rear bumper is #75

Then a case of water is what, #20???

An easy #2,000-#3000 pounds That is when you consider now the entire chassis will be one solid cube of wet mud!

    Boneheads...

Well, not a lot of extra weight because of some fancy bed topper anyway.

Like Ken, if the cable pullers don't work, set up rollers under it and roll it into place. I moved a shed with 4 inch pipe rolling on 6x8 timbers, hardest part was trying to stop it before it ran into the apple tree which actually stopped it.

Gun Control / Re: Trump to Sessions “ban bump fire stocks”
    « on: March 08, 2018, 03:52:58 PM »

Funny deal Shawn... we pretty much agree.

Laws won't fix mass shootings (correct) Some well thought out rules, may prevent some...if enforced... (debatable) As I see it, the laws are coming, regardless. That's what a society that's morally decayed does. They make stupid laws to replace common sense and moral values. Study history....this is quite clear, and factually what has always happened.

So...the laws will come, which side do we want to be on? Do we want to be Morally valued/responsible to see/call out... there is a issue, and in some areas we as gun owners can bring forth more common sense, responsibility and do what we can to make sure we have set a standard? Or we will be dictated to how we shall live by that very decay we have discussed? It's not just about laws new or old.. it's about the big picture.

Lets face it... if society was "healthy" that Sheriff, much the school administration, and some FED's, and who knows who else would be unemployed, and likely in a few cases, detained and held responsible. As most are, this was preventable on many levels of obvious reality. Your right, society failed... I just don't buy into the logic that we as gun owners don't hold some of that responsibility.

We can do better and not infringe our rights.  We can as a HUGE part of this country's citizens say we will not tolerate this decay...we will do WHAT it takes to put a stop to this. The "what" regarding laws/rules whatever should be OUR rules of said engagement....not some politician or professor or media personality. Our Ideas offered, vetted against OUR constitution, assuring no one gives up rights. But towards a goal of doing our part... to PROTECT our rights.

Once that has been established....maybe society will see the REAL issue. Some of that decay falls at the feet of gun owners who can't seem to distinguish between the right to bare arms.... and the convenience of bearing arms.

If I bitch slapped every person I saw with a AR15 at the range who has ZERO clue how to handle that weapon (likely any other weapon also) and confiscated said weapon, I'd own a few hundred AR's. We have all seen it, we all know that's true, and maybe we should establish exactly what should be done about it?

These "shooters" by default, despite our wishes, are gun owners. Are we policing our ranks to the best of our abilities on ALL levels?

    Obviously we are not...

I would not be to quick to try to take my AR away from me. No I don't have the most up to date training but after the fight I just might come out the winner in this fight.

Yes , I agree time to put in the overflow piping. I would go with one larger pipe rather than two smaller but it isn't my pond. Size the overflow and leave some room for bigger runoff. Better to be too much at first than fighting a failure later. Other idea would be a  rock lined overflow swale area. That must be some real clay soil as muddy as the water is.

"Lets require all private party transfers to be done through a FFL That way both parties have a purchase permit? Seems very simple, and causes zero actual problems. I have actually done this for years now...it's not a restriction, it's responsible"

Norm, Wash. State has a law very similar now that requires all transfers to go through a FFL. Sounds good except I need to now pay a FFL fee, pay sales tax, make a trip to the FFL, to pass a gun onto a friend or child. The other problem with that is the new law is not being enforced.

So Shawn, where exactly do you stand on this? You can not have it both ways. I think the bump stock being legal is going in the wrong direction to be considered worth fighting for. I don't want my 2nd rights to go away, but still have to look at real problems. I won't be handing over my mags or rifles, but do think there is middle ground we can work with. If I can not buy an auto rifle without paying a premium , why should I be able to buy a bump stock and end up damn close to the same result.

    Time for a bigger 5th.

Yes indeed, brand new state of art 5th wheel with four slides and a new rig sitting on the flatbed behind the cab. You won't feel so bad when it is time to pay at  the fuel stops. Nice to have all the room for fuel, right up to the time you have to pay for it.

Nice set up as long as you have room to maneuver, doing a nice job setting it up. You should never have to worry about pin weight of a trailer either.

And when the plows get to the area, fighting all the abandoned cars just slows down their work. Every area has its own requirements for calling in the crews after hours. Just depends on where you are at the time. Plow trucks could be working but just not where you happen to be.

    1243

Well, for location of stuff, I am just a road worker so I just measured from a couple known points for each end and made a quick dirty not to scale drawing to have and hold forever. Same with the sewer cleanouts, and D box.

I would think some kind of metal roofing would well outlast the asphalt shingles. Biggest draw back is metal can be a bit slippery when wet if you have much of a slope to the roof.

Sprinkler....have the plumber provide a stub out from the 1 inch minimum  water service line for connection of irrigation. If on metered water service, request a 1 inch or larger meter for good flow to the home and fewer sprinkler stations.

Depending on how far down the basement floor is, not sure conduit would be needed. Could be a lot of digging to get down to it.

    1244

How well will shingles hold up in your area? Would metal or tile roofing hold up better? You can even get metal in a tile look or even metal 3 tab look...

Sprinklers, if using drip type for individual shrubs and trees, don't use the black plastic tubing as good old pvc has a much longer life. Have them install lots of conduit under the concrete flatwork for wiring and irrigation runs and mark/map the locations. I wish they would have used one size larger here at the winter place as I could only get 1/2" pipe through the conduit.
