Nice getaway place, or even a main home for that matter. I really like the covered porches and the metal roofing. Once you get all that grass on the side of the house turned into a pool the mowing time will be reduced....

So sorry Tate, I will be including you, your sister, and her son in my thoughts and prayer. Be strong and be there for both of them

That setup would be really nice if you could haul a Jeep on the deck & still pull the trailer.....
Like this happy camper

Looks good Tex. If you cut all the trees that drop stuff into the pool you will have lots of room for solar.

No damage when things tore loose I hope. It had to be moved anyway right...Don't want it under that nice pool.

I keep forgetting about solar being from wet side of Washington.

Could you plumb a second heat source and use wood boiler to keep the temp right. My friend in WA uses a wood stove with coils as an only heat source for his pool.

Well even if the duty falls on you, it will be a nice place for the family to relax and enjoy the Hide. You have been doing a great job fixing up the place, thanks for sharing...Keep the fires under control...

Wow, a pool....So who gets to keep it clean. Every needle, twig, creepy crawler in the county will be in it if it is an outdoor model. I like the idea of two 500 gal tanks, regulators do fail and that pool better be warm for the family.

I was going to ask the same question as Bob. in WA you need at least two rear facing. And I like them for watching the rear tire without sticking my face out the window in the oncoming path of mud and debris
Hi Tate, how is the weather up there, Ken's state can not be beat, during the winter that is....

Shawn, don't you need the side mirror to drive legal on public roads in Co.

Go eagles, if that is the case Shawn. Got a pork loin on the Trager and lots of beer in the fridge. Couple people coming over for dinner. Not the game, just dinner.

Sounds like you are mixing your own blend for the growing medium. Do some reading and studying for the right mixture for the best results. You will probably have lots of weed seed from the river silt and the donkey droppings. No really good way for weed control other than herbicides or continues weeding, so for a few years just stay on top of the weeds and all should work out OK. Some of the top soil places use extreme heat to kill the weed seed, try to keep on top of them and all should be good.

Sounds like a good soil blend for growing. Is the river soil and donkey droppings processed or will you be fighting lots of unwanted growth the first couple years?

Spent the day at the Grand Canyon, what a sight that big hole is. Still some snow around, after all it is 7,000ft. Saw 3 bunches of elk laying around under the pine and juniper. No photos, wife had her camera and we don't have a card reader to transfer them to the computer.

Ken, how good of an operator do you have to be to run water back uphill? Maybe a pond is going to happen, make sure all the important upgrades to the area are protected by some rip rap or ditch (wash) around that area.

After thinking on this a bit, depending on what insurance you bought, you just might have a good claim, depending on how you describe how the damage happened. Check with the high school shop teacher, maybe they are looking for a class project.

Maybe while waiting on an engine a different bilge pump system install is in order. Mount an auto pump system with manual and auto switch in the bottom of bilge and run the discharge hose to a through hull fitting set well above the waterline. Might check with the big marine place along the hwy near Everett they might be able to help with either a used replacement engine or do a rebuild for you. Boats are usually tossed away because of engine damage not drift or rock damage to the hull. The bad part is the engine and running gear are always more than the rest of the boat is worth.

Yes the Contender and Encore systems from T/C are very fun. I started with the Contender and a .41 mag barrel, bought a .410 shot/.45 colt for the travel trailer and the list kept growing. Then bought an Encore frame with a 7mm/08 handgun barrel. They are all fun to shoot and with the rifle stock and longer tubes can be good for hunting. Only bad thing with them is barrels keep following me home.

That is a very good looking rig, sorry it wounds on the wrong end. The style /shape of the stock could be causing part of the bruising, along with the metal butt plate. I have a couple of Ruger falling block rifles in 45/70 and a T/C Contender hand gun with 14" barrel also in 45/70. One of the Rugers is a stainless with laminated wood for hunting the wet side of Washington. I started with the handgun but it is a bit of a challenge to hold on target.

Really not all that funny when the feds say it is against the law to shoot them down. I guess a couple court cases might change their minds, time and good shots will/could tell.

Agreed Bob. Little hot loads like that, are a crutch for poor shooting skills IMO or when you are competing and have a sponsor, money is no object. You mis read the wind or distance and its a lot more forgiving at 4000fps. That's why now they have 308 matches where only 308s compete. Levels the playing field. I still think the 300 WM is hard to beat all around. One reason the secret service used it for years and perhaps still do.
Yup.....My go to round for hunting is a 300 win mag. Might mess up a little more meat but they are usually dead right there.

I completely agree, no free lunch. I would rather have a note sheet showing drop than save up for a barrel replacement and all the work to get the load worked up.

Charles, I was told it wasn't the speed as much as all the powder burning that ate up barrels. Cuda, more important to know what the bullet is doing at the needed range than how fast it is getting there. I know the wind is not a friend but heavier keeps a better line than faster. A good old .257 Roberts improved is about as good as it gets for longer range yote hunting.

Don, having worked the mat myself, going to state the first year is no big deal. Takes a long while to get the moves down, it is not all about who is strongest.

Bob, I am not saying that, but I'm saying his cooking is good enough to make me think about it......
That is a true statement Charles, Not only that but all those management meetings makes a guy's brain foggy.

I can understand the family benefits side but when forced to weed water and harvest when the lake was calling was hard to swallow. I do not look back at fond memories of the garden or berry patches.

Maybe want to find a better lot to build on. If this a long term home, you shouldn't accept potential water problems or unneeded stairs to fight from now until you move again.

Don, practice- practice- practice. Start slowly on a pile of dirt and grow into it. That thing is capable of so many projects. You can buy or build an attachment for most anything needed to be done. If you try, even a little bit, you can and will destroy something, so take it a bit easy OK....

A skid steer is a skid steer and it is not a Sarge, take it a little easy on the poor thing.

Before I installed an ONAN 5500 GOLD in my trailer, I bought the biggest Champion generator Costco had. if I remember correctly it was $500. Had remote start and more power than one really needs. I think it was a 6500-7500. My friends referred to it as the rock crusher, as you can imagine is not very quiet. I built a 3 sided foldable noise deflector, which helped but it wasn't a tranquil camping experience.
Few years ago a friend bought one of the those Champions for his elk camp. Ended up buying bales of straw to try and quiet it down and ended up burning about 10 acres of scrub and pines at the top of Bethel Ridge before the fire was put out.

whether actual finger print or just biometrics as they claim, the shear massive amount of information they have linked has got to take up a server the size of a football field. fingerprint, to park ticket, to credit card, to you. it's the greatest fingerprint collection agency in the world without even trying.
Wow, when trying to get off the cruise ship last week {Panama Canal} , my wife showed her plastic card from the ship that had her photo, passport, room number, and who knows what else on it. Anyway it beeped wrong and we were pulled aside ordered to give up passports and follow customs person to a special booth for reentry to the US. After every thing was said and done we were allowed out of the building and on are own to find the other 7 people in our group.. Yup, after my wife gave me the LOOK I gave it up. I hate traveling any other way than a car in this country, even then getting across the border is a real hassle. We don't fit the 18-26 yr old Muslim profile, most likely would be easier if we did,.
