Took my friends ashes, his wife and his son on a long two hour boat ride yesterday to spread his ashes across the bay.
Then after returning home had to drive down to my brothers place to be beside him for a while. He has been fighting liver cancer for a few years and the time has come to say goodbye.
Now I am getting packed up for a couple weeks hunting and remembering all the good times I have been blessed with sharing time with family and good friends.
Thanks Don for the wonderful site filled with great people with a common cause and beliefs.
I take no credit, nor do I deserve any.
Thanks and glory to Jesus alone!

Watched the daughter cross the finish line with the governor relay team. I tried to post the video but sorry it is to big so you only get a picture. The governor is the big gut in the center and Krysten is the only female (beside the governor)

This just made FOX news this morning
The governor of OK was being interviewed live and he mentioned Krysten who was running along side of him as a sister of one of Oklahoma's soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We set the dvr to record it. Krysten if I say for myself is an amazing young lady. She is such a champion for Gold Star families. The brightest thing to me is that as a 3rd grade teacher in her little school she educates her school on what the price of freedom is. These kids come out of that school knowing what the pledge stands for, how to sign the national anthem, and the difference between Memorial, Veteran.

We need to create many, many more like her

We need to ensure the truth is kept alive within our homes

We need to pray and network and church together

We need to support people like her behind the scenes...run interference for her as it were

We need to do all these things in the name of all that is good and right, or we will surely lose our country and goodness in our land

My kids were throwing mud balls at the side of the house.  I got the ladder out and made them clean it. Then there were about a hundred clean spots on the white vinyl.

Should have had them clean the entire house.

Broke down and bought a gen3 glock 22. Even found one with 15 round mags.

I got rid of mine years ago and regret it.

North side of the house nobody could see it. Anyway I got my point across. They never did it again. And my younger boys have not done that yet. They heard the stories from my older kids.

This was taken on my Order of the arrow campout in 88. Jerry was one of the best scoutmasters that ever was. I'm the shaggy haired kid next to him.  Yesterday I rejoined my old troop in saying good by to him. There was quite a group of current a former scouts there in uniform. He was also a highly respected district commander of the VFW.
I ran across this picture a few weeks ago just after I signed up some of my own scouts for OA. I thought I should call Jerry and get some advice. I kept putting it off or forgetting. Thinking I have time the campout is not for a while. Then I heard he passed. It hit me pretty hard because I had thought a lot about him lately and couldn't take 5 minutes to pick up the phone. I learned another lesson. When you want to talk so someone just pick up the phone. You don't know how much time you have.

Tested positive for the Rona.

I got vaccinated as soon as it was available for first responders back whenever that was, during the first round. I’ve had multiple multiple positive contacts, working death scenes and what not. I guess it finally caught up with me.

Monday after shift I was feeling super tired in the gym, Tuesday I developed some cold like symptoms and just felt like crud. I went and saw the jail nurse and got an antigen test. I popped negative. Then last night i was feeling like crud even worse. I went for a two mile walk and afterward in the shower suddenly I noticed I had no sense of smell .

I went to my wife’s hospital this morning and popped a positive test. BOOOO. Luckily there was room in the infusion center so I jumped in and got the experimental antibody therapy.  I will keep y’all posted on how I fair. I walked two miles again tonight. My lungs feel pretty good, I’m just wiped out everywhere else.

If your sense of smell doesn’t return quickly after recovery take some ivermectin. It brought my middle daughters taste and smell back after her second bout of covid. Get feeling better.

Better watch this. My neighbor just died from it.

Does anyone recognize a brand or model type for this rotary tools?
I got given my grandpas drill press (not pictured yet) and this rotary tool was in the bottom drawer, polished up the body, going to need to grease the inside but all else runs smooth as butter.

Looking for any history or a place to start looking for information is all.

Pushing along on project LBZ.
Have it all but buttoned up.
Accesory belt still off, and whole grill and associated stuff.

Tried to fire it today but after giving up with “dead” batteries I headed back to the lake.
Seems odd that after a couple weeks disconnected they’re dead.

Half way across the lake…”duh”, I didn’t tighten any of the grounds on the block…
It should start when I get home tomorrow evening.

Turkey day weekend for us so making some curry chicken for tonight and a brisket for tomorrow.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Mwahahahaha happens to the best of us.

I did the exact same thing. I couldn’t get it to run without hooking a booster/charger to it. That must have provided just enough wiggle on the negative cable to make contact and allow it to start. Got it out of the garage, took it up the road and romped on it— fell flat on its face. Got it home, then realized both battery grounds to the block were loose.

All of them are loose.
The accesory ones as well.
All four ground bolts.

As I had everything all over I was leaving them till everything was in.

Sam, tell me about your chix curry please.

It’s pretty simple and boring.

Whole chicken today, cut into chunks.

Heat oil, mix curry powder in water.
Add curry mix to oil to brown the curry.
Don’t let it burn.

Cut chicken and coat all sides with curry powder.
Once curry in oil is browned, add the chicken.
Sauté some while the pot has heat.
Turn down add some water.

One large onion diced.
One whole bulb of garlic.
Hot peppers of your choosing to taste.
3 scotch bonnets are too much almost.

Cook covered for a couple hours.
Checking occasionally to ensure liquid still in pot.

It’s done when the chicken starts falling apart.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Guess what.
My batteries are still good.
It cranks like crazy.

Oh yeah, once the fuel reached the injectors it lit right up.

So been struggling with pain the last few days. Thought it was back pain.  Woke up at midnight last night in some serious pain. Like I wanted to shoot my self in the face pain.

Spent  few hours in the ER this morning. I am the proud papa of a 4mm kidney stone. Now I’m home on pain meds to try and pass it.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

As some of you know, I've got chronic kidney stones and have passed 16 in a year once. THIS. STUFF. WORKS. https://www.amazon.com/Certified-Organic-Breaker-Phyllanthus-Packaged/dp/B089WHHSB5
Also, add crystal lite lemonade to your water. Potassium citrate softens the stone material and helps them break apart making them much easier to pass, and harder to form. Good luck TRN. I'd say it gets easier, ... but it doesn't.

I feel for you TRN. Saw one of our deputies on the floor at work when he passed one.

Heavenly Father, we lift up Tex, and Tate, and every man here with ailments. I guess that would just about include everyone. Pain is no fun, but since you created our body to experience it, then the fact that we feel it must not be a mistake. Let us use every painful situation to remind us that you made us, that you watch over those who call themselves by your name, and let it remind us of your grace. Although it may hurt, allow it to point to you in our minds and cause us to draw closer to you, our eternal father. In the name of Jesus, I declare healing over those who seek you in this our internet place, Amen

Amen.

I drove my truck tonight.
Not far. Not fast.

I was trying to break the rear wheels free of the hubs.
Doing a nascar tire scrub at about 20-25.
It didn’t work.
Will take more drastic measures another day.

But the truck runs.
Think I need to do a trans relearn.
And then not sure.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Good job Sam.

Charles I feel for you. I have chronic stones as well and like Tator said, lemonade is what seems to work the best. It rounds off the sharp spines and they don't get stuck as easy. My first big one, that got stuck, looked like a goat head. My second bigger one passed easier because of lemonade. It was more like a round stone.
Don't get me wrong, it still sucks.

Got rained out on beans so took a quick overnight trip to Hutchinson Kansas for the National HDT rally. One of the couples we hung out with in Idaho this year got a new trailer. I absolutely fell in love with it. 43 foot all aluminum no wood anywhere 8,000 lb payload. Pictures do not do justice to this piece of art. I wish I had interior photos. Not plush by any means but pure function. Stainless steel cabinets, full size fridge and the list goes on. I thought I wanted a spacecraft semi trailer conversion. This changed my mind in a hurry.

I didn't ask but I'm guessing by what I seen online anywhere from 150-200K for that. But most of the other trailers there were DRV, Spacecraft and luxe. All high end trailers. Very few older ones like I have.
The thing I love this group is they don't care. What you have. They treat us with just as much respect kindness as the people with half a mil invested.

It's their home I didn't want to take a bunch of pictures of their stuff. This one is very similar.
