Concealable chest rig
« on: January 20, 2018, 06:34:08 PM »
I ran across this and thought it was interesting, especially the 12ga setup......

Considering purchasing a couple, maybe one 12ga & a 5.56

hmm.  interesting. would be cool to have 556 mags on the back and 12ga on the front and a few pistol mags under the arms.
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

I like the idea of the pistol mag add on, not sure I’d need 12ga & 5.56 on one rig......

Edit: looks like adding pistol mags is an available option btw

Well why do you need/want a low-vis chest rig? Have you looked into getting something belt mounted?

Yes the last one is expensive, but I wasn't about assume what pouches and etc you need. But you can set one up with whatever you want for cheaper, or buy the stuff seperate and assemble your own belt.

Well, in regards to the 12ga shotshell holder. I have a belt mounted one (think goose hunting belt). The problem with that is the location of the shotshells and ready access when reloading. This unit and the position of the shells to me seemed more accessible no matter the intended use. For example when goose hunting you sit in blinds quite often. By lowering your zipper on your jacket you have easy access where as a belt mounted it’s not the case.

Well if it's for hunting why don't you get a side saddle shell holder? If your hunting I assume you have a pack that can hold extra shells if necessary.

This looked handy & versatile, it’s an each their own moot point I think.

I refuse to be provoked by you today Ken , for the record I have side saddles on my 870’s. However, I have been on courses where that was not enough & the shells needed to be accessible. I used my goose hunting belt & for the record it could have been better. So thinking back to that instance this seemed like a relevant option.
