The ones I've used in the Armeee (as Big D calls it) were all green. I think I'd like the black and white much better. Seems like there'd be less chance of headaches. Looks good! I think you'll like it.
Green is cool by the way... But green is the amplified light design whereas grays are FLIR

Tex,

I love that motor! Real kick in the pants when you need it...Or when you want to do a performance takeoff with no regard for customer comfort...

Well this morning I had coffee, which I rarely drink, with a few of the old fellas who want to see the M37 running. One of them has a old 1940's Mil issue stencil set for hood numbers and other stuff. Guess he's dropping it off with my wife latter today...pretty cool of him.

Anyone here want to volunteer to build the wiring harness? This is one aspect I am not looking forward to.

The guy who sold me the overhead switch panel in SquareD, he's your man if you can convince him to do it. Good fella, up in Mass, I think. I had an issue with his stuff and he flat out took the time to take care of it. Got to know him some on the phone calls. A guru to be sure. So that is a bad lead, I know, but he would be the right man for the job

It was a couple of years ago. Wasn't a password issue. They would not answer emails...Others made inquiries. I think that D-Max build is still their biggest thread, well, maybe not by now, but I was approaching 2 million views on just that single thread.
Then the SquareD thread did it all again.

Nothing to be gained over at that forum. Too carnal. I hope that enough seeds are planted to point people whom God is calling back to this place.

Negative, even running on the coast side of the gear the 14 bolt is still stronger than the d-60 as it has the extra pinion support bearing. The 60 under heavy load will allow the pinion to walk the ring gear.

Edit: Norm, he has some ruff stuff parts he wants to sell ya!  ::)

I half way want to, as Norm would say, "Toss that 60 up under the Chebby."

Yea, it wouldn't make any sense, but I haven't displayed an abundance of good sense for long enough to be consistent for some decades now...

Nope!

That would make it a SBR which needs the tax stamp. Without the butt stock, its a pistol. Barrel length must be 16" for a non SBR rifle

Sort of off topic a bit, but the F35 is crap.

I get that from the pilots. It won't turn. Not enough wing. It's another F4 Phantom. What it doesn't do in turning performance it makes up for in avionics, but as a dog fighter going up against a third world Mig 21, it just might get its hide tanned. For stuff like that send in the F16 and kill the suckers, make some aces, pin some metals and let the mags talk about the technological wonder of the F35

So.... Pitman arm $85 Fresh F-150 Steering box $525 HD Drag link and tie-rods probably $200 in materials. Steering column and connections to box $100 minimal.

Full Hyd steering $1200 Hmmmmmm Simplicity of design and functionality....priceless.

Which then begs the question... A Dana 60 Dodge front axle is worth like $1200 around here all day long. A 14 Bolt rear axle maybe $150. I have to cut apart the 60 anyway so....

If I bought some brand new tube, did some fab work, why couldn't I build a 14 bolt front axle for the same or less?

Just thinking out loud here...

dID ANYONE MENTION THE FACT THAT IN A FRONT AXLE CONFIG, THE 14 BOLT IS MADE TO RUN ON THE WEAK SIDE OF THE GEAR. i CAN'T RECALL THE NUMBERS, BUT RUNNING IT (POWER) TO THE COAST SIDE WAS A PRETTY GOOD NUMBER LESS THAN RUNNING THE GEAR ON THE POWER SIDE.

sO SINCE YOU LOSE STRENGTH AND A LOT OF GROUND CLEARANCE, i'D SAY THE hpd60 IS YOUR BEST BET.

Did I just really type all that with the caps locked?

Well, screw it, I'm leaving it, don't want to retype.

Norm, I have that 1995 F350 HPD60 King pin housing carrier, with 4.56 gears and the forged 35 spline axles. I put that together for the D-Max truck

I guess I have the whole ruff stuff link front suspension sitting there in a box as well. Might help your cause...Let me think about if I might use that for the Dirty-Max truck

One way to tell which is which. If it has heat it's a house or a shop, no heat it's a shed or a barn. If it has a loft it's a barn, if it has no loft  but 4 walls it's a outbuilding. If it doesn't have 4 enclosed walls it's automatically a shed even though often called a barn. (loafing barn as an example) Outbuildings can be sheds if they are just for storage, then the one open wall isn't a requirement to be a shed. LoL

A grainery is used to store and move grain, a crib is used to dry corn yet on the ear, a grainery can be used to process ear corn to just grain...sometimes these are called elevators, but only if they have a leg. Then you have the annex, which is far different than the crib and is used to store grains.

I have some sort of hybrid going on

My shed has heat, sort of. Has a loft and a roof to be sure, and it's closed up.

I think it's part shop, part house, but have to call it a shed to keep the prying eyes of the guberment from inspectin' it...

Then the barn has one side kinda fallin' in, so I guess it could be a barn transitioning to an out building. But I have a fallen down and somewhat bush-hogged chicken coup. I think that is just a pile of trash, but who knows, might be a ...

Ok in Neb speak...

Shed: Wooden, leaky roof probably once used to store or house tractors/animals/equipment. We have 3 sheds on this property..one is pure kindling.

Garage: A building that keeps hail and snow off of things. So a shed with daily use LoL We have one of these with a dirt floor. It will hold maybe 6 cars/trucks. Or two daily drivers and a boat and lawn equipment, golf cart, Razor and assorted other stuff.

Barn: Well it's a barn LoL

Well, according to this, I no longer own a barn and a shed

I think I own either two sheds

or

a house and a shed

I'm confused

Don how's the repeatability on the break down and reassembly?  Minute of scumbag (coon) accurate?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The fact that you take the thing apart and reassemble it doesn't seem to affect bullet POI at all. Of course the ranges (50 feet) are such that a small change would not affect minute of mouse accuracy.

I did watch a vid where a gentleman fired several 10 round groups, each after taking apart and reassembling, and there was no change to speak of

My hardy thank you to all who sent gifts, money, or prayed for these folks. If you want to participate still, I'll keep this open until the end of the month. I plan on zeroing out the account to pay rent for one or both of them.

But please do not (anyone) feel guilty for not giving. This does not work that way.

If I may, Father. God places needs on different peoples hearts. When you feel like you really should get involved in something, then you should pray and ask if the spirit is telling you to do something. If the feeling persists, well, if I were you, I'd heed the call.

Remember you can't out give God. I guarantee you, something very good is coming back to you, but don't give because you want something. Give because you are being faithful and obedient to the call of our Lord.

Another way of looking at it, is if you were prompted to give, then obviously God has placed in your hands the ability to give. Everything is his, everything.

But after praying and getting quiet about giving you don't hear or feel that prompting, then don't give, there is no need to. You see, Father God did not abandon these girls. He made my wife, then me, then all of you aware of the situation, then placed on your heart the desire to do something. And you did. So in reality, God had, and has his people covered. These girls are on his heart. It may be their time, I don't know, but I know we were supposed to play a part in this.

So this Christmas, know in your heart that you made a real tangible difference in the lives of these two families.

Don't know about you, but I am blessed already

I feel good!

Parenting / Re: A dad's reality check
« on: December 20, 2016, 11:20:30 AM »
Well, the oldest is now 13 and the youngest just turned 11.  I gave my oldest a phone when she turned 12.  When I gave it to her, I told her that what I was handing her was as dangerous as one of my pistols.  It had the power to ruin her life and that nothing she does or says on that phone should be considered private.  I've disabled everything other than calls and texts, but still that's enough to get her in trouble.

She needs it to communicate with us as she's involved in a lot of after school activities like dance, debate, Nat'l Jr Honor Society, etc.  Last week she leaves it on the bench at school when being picked up.  We went back and it was gone.  I tried to activate find my phone but it was not installed onthat phone.  Fortunately someone turned it in at the office.  So I was updating software and installing anc activating Find My Phone and decided to do my fatherly duty and review all her pictures and texts.  Found a friend that was texting her about sending dirty jokes.

My daughters downfall was not telling her friend not to send them.  Instead she said, send it and then I'll delete it and that her battery was about dead so she would respond and let her know when to send it.....

So....I texted her friend as though I was my daughter and told her to send it.  It was innocuous "don't foget to blow up the beach balls" I guesss getting the word "balls" in a joke was dirty for them.

So I called my daughter out on it and she knew she was wrong and knew she should have told her friend not to send jokes.  I also reinforced that nothing on that phone is private and she should talk to her friend and tell her she got in trouble and that she would appreciate her not sending anymore jokes.  Ofcourse my daughter wanted to text her and I said, no.  You need to talk to her face to face in person.

I also told her that if I caught her again (and I'd be checking) that she'd lose her phone and ability to particpate in after school activities.

Have you guys dealt with this? how did you handle it?

Are there any sofware that logs all keystrokes and text messages?
In a school near here Sexting is the big trap the girls fall into.

It happened with one of my girls. Went to church with the other family. So we nipped it in the bud like immediately. Saved both of them. But another friend's daughter got all caught up in it as well. He is strong enough to handle it, and has had success getting her back on track

Phones, computers, texting, skyping, gaming...all of that has potential pitfalls.

Bring them up in the ways of the Lord and they will come home to what they know and have been taught.
