Which course is currently disrupting your happiness?

just math in general.  ive hated it since i was a kid because of the labels i was given as a small child and forced to live with until i graduated.  it all boiled down to worthless teachers dismissing me for my learning disabilities.

A few days ago when it was really windy a power line over at my nephew's place blew down and started a fire. He lost the barn. He lost a steer, a bunch of baby pot belly pigs and all his chickens. They were stuck in the house watching because of the live power lines on the ground.
We had a warm room set up in there to start our chicks so now I'm on the hunt for a new chicken coop. I think I am going to remodel the kids playhouse and use that. I was going to trash it because it's in pretty bad shape.  I checked it out this afternoon and I think it's save able.

Dang jon, that sucks and hopefully everybody is ok.  If you or anybody up there needs some assistance, you know how to get a hold of me.

Here’s what I use Nate. Connect to pressure regulator and filter. Works great.

yeah i tried a soaker hose set up last year and it just didnt do good at all. i know i have a pressure issue.  I will give this idea some thought.

I do not have a hydrant out there, so i am having to run roughly 200' of hose from the house just to get to the garden. i have several issues with the water system for the home, 1. the system was not designed well, 2. the well pump is way under powered, 3. the pump is over 20 years old and will be failing soon, 4. even though i have a new pressure tank, it can only do so much with the amount of water that it is feed from the old pump.

friday 1 apr 22, i got my garden tilled and ready for planting.  i will start planting in about 2 weeks.

saturday 2 apr 22, i built the new front gate/fence.  i built it out of pvc to keep it light, and i can now swing it completely open for when i have to get my little orange tractor in there.

sunday 3 apr 22, i got the fence secured to the pvc and everything put back together.  the fence has done an awesome job keeping animals out of the garden.  but i did have 2 little bunnies that got caught in there some how last year and had to deal with them.

does nebraska have a coyote season, or are they considered fair game like in south dakota?  does nebraska let you lure them in with a prerecorded coyote call....kind of like baiting them?

Today I added the new disc mulcher head I had purchased a couple months ago. I loaded it and carried it to the farm.

Tomorrow I will add the new engine and transmission for the suburban to it.

I have plans to add a bunch of stuff to it and almost added the fender, doors, and quarter panel of a new Tahoe who tried to cut me off where I was merging due to a lane closure. The fool tried to squeeze past me so I just said to heck with it and just kept on coming over. Not sure if I touched her or not but I ended up in the lane with that Tahoe partway on the shoulder and part way in the grass in the meridian. She took off like a crazed animal and I never saw her again! It was black, so I guess I'll never really know but I was bumping into something sure enough!

Seems to be screaming for some picante or hot sauce.

So, question...

If I showed up for breakfast, and you served me that dish...Would you be insulted if I splashed hot sauce on it?

not one bit, as i put some sort of sauce/condiment on everything.  i did put some ketchup with it after the photo.

« on: March 23, 2022, 04:03:07 PM »
I use the cartridge still and buy off Amazon in bulk off brand normally. I recently bought bic and they suck.

Worth noting when we were in Cali last month for a few days the wife said my 5 month plus beard growth needed some attention and if you’re not aware I beat Mother Nature to the punch and started shaving my head a couple times a week at start of covid.

So I went to this nice barbershop in Merced and did the straight razor and hot towel treatment on the ol noggin. He did a good job with the exception those disposable cartridges and cream in a can get a much closer shave I found.

Curious to know how it goes Nate……

i feel you on the hair loss, i saw it happening a few years ago when having to deal with people that are no longer in my life and have embraced the manual bald.  when i first moved here, i found a barber shop with this young lady who knew how to actually shave faces and heads with straight blades (i had never felt my head that smooth before).  i would fork over the $$$ every 2 weeks because she did that good of a job.  sad thing is, once all of this fear mongering crap started, she was one of the ones that got hit hardest.  i havent been able to find her since.

i just got that one the other day and have a few more days before i give it a try.

who here has made the switch from a cartridge razor and aerosol cream to a double edge safety razor and manual cream?

I am tired of paying a fortune for cartridge blades that dont last that long as well as the aerosol cans of cream and have decided to give the old method a try.

i picked up a nice heavy weight adjustable safty razor, cream, bowl, brush and 50 blades.

I know this is not a hook video, but I figured this would give Dave some idea of what active duty pilots do and go through.

the hawk you see in the video was piloted by my old brigade commander when she was the battalion commander of 2nd battalion 82 aviation regiment from Fort Bragg.  Colonel (Ret) Carey Wagen.  during the time of this video, she was the first female aviation task force commander in the army and conducting operations in Afghanistan.  the mission that was being conducted in this video was an extraction of special forces from a mountain top (literally).  at the conclusion of this mission, she was heavily praised by the SF community for her skill.

correct me if I am wrong don, but very few pilots ever get training and have the stones big enough to actually execute this? let along the ability to control their aircraft on a point with that much updraft coming from multiple angles?

« on: February 15, 2022, 09:50:11 AM »
the AC Delco fuel filter (TP 1015) for the L5P says its 3 micron rating and they cost roughly $24 - $35 depending on where you get them at.

I found this 4 pack on amazon with a 5 micron rating for $41.99 which comes out to $10.49 each. 1-2 micron difference means nothing to me!

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DMFGY8Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

the AC Delco oil filter (PF 2232) is roughly $10 at most auto part stores.  i can get them from amazon for $8.99 each with free shipping.

I had the oil change light come on in the L5P today on my way in.  Weather to take it to the dealership or crawl under it myself.

Choices and more choices

if you have the $$$ and dont want to get fuel all over yourself, i say take it to the stealership and have them look everything over and rotate the tires as well.......

i found a 4 pack of fuel filters and ac delco oil filters on amazon for a great price.  i dont know what your interval you go with, but i typically stick to every 10k miles for both fuel and oil.  i take it back to where i bought the tires and have them rotate every 5k (for warranty purposes).

Been putting the house back together after the 6 week paint job, swapping out light and light fixtures, swapping out all the ivory wall plates, switches, duplex receptacles for white and adding some wifi light switches.  Also ordered a new sink and faucet for the downstairs powder room,  sink will require granite cutting so we’ll see how that goes.  Still waiting on the wife to pick tile.
