i bought these at the beginning of winter last year, and they have been great.  they kept my hands pretty warm last winter especially when we had our sub zero cold snap.

i also use these gloves when i am handling big chunks of meat on the smoker or big hot cast iron pans from the oven.  they do a dang good job of keeping the heat away for a short period as well as they have never melted on me even after handling 500deg cast iron.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074J59W91/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

did i mention that for the $34 price tag, the package contains 12 pairs?

I have used these gloves every winter for 20 or more years. I like the elastic cuff because it keeps snow out. At one time we have 3,000 head of hogs We made our own feed. I stood outside 3 days a week in all weather conditions. Rain, snow, sleet, and negative temps. I've been out fixing cattle waterers in -20 during an ice storm. Once the inside got worn out some, I wore a glove liner.  These gloves never failed me. They can be hard to break in. The first week of wear it's hard to hold on to things. You might hate them the first time you wear them but once you get them broke in, I really like them, and they stay pretty water resistant.

Heckuva testemonial right there sir. you should sell them, lol.

I ran pigskin leather gloves from the co-op during Les Schwab days with winter stud and tire changes and using the dunk tank in sub teens, constantly dunking not terribly warm, but kept the fingers from hurting at least. I literally dunked them in metled SnoSeal every couple weeks until i wore holes in them from slowing down studded tires on the balancer with my hands. really tough to beat durability wise, and the hot SnoSeal really did the job of waterproofing and softening the leather.

I went and bought these aircraft engine covers on an auction. They weren't exactly what I expected. It was hard to tell from the pictures, but I figured they would be 6x6 (description says 6ft) with a one-foot lip around it. Turns out they are like a bag. 5ft tall and probably 4x4 wide with a zipper up one corner. So far, I am using one in the back of the suburban with a straw bale and a chainsaw in it. I'm packing for this weekend's winter campout. I don't know what I am going to do with the rest. I will sell some off here and there if there is any interest.  They would make great smoker covers or to cover a central air conditioning unit.

I found out today that my tractor is 1' too long for my dump trailer. And thats with no attachments.

I know it will fit in my enclosed 28', the question being.....do i trade/private sell the 10', 10k dump trailer and go with a 12' or 14'....?

What really got me to sell mine (14ft) was a small car would not fit and the doors close.

for now, i will keep my 10k dump and use my enclosed if i have to transport it somewhere.  I honestly can not justify another $3.5k to go to a 12' or another $6.5k to go to a 14'.

if when i get my tiller, i may see how much interest there is to make a little money with it tilling peoples gardens up for them.

Went on our yearly campout with the Nebraska preparedness network. You can find them on Facebook.
It was 14 degrees the first night 10 last night. That's is the coldest I have been out since I was a kid in Boy Scouts.
Zane did great making the beds up and he did awesome in our fire building challenge. You had to soak your entire fire building kit and your hands in cold water for 30 seconds to simulate falling in a creek. Then had to make a stand to dry a piece of t shirt. Really proud of him he did it all himself.
I actually won the Dutch oven cook off this year. I made a whole baked chicken with taters and carrots. Tiny trophy but huge bragging rights. There are a couple traveling trophies given out each year for different things. This little one is the most coveted of all.

Something a little different that I’m finishing up in the shop currently. Took a 14 bolt 10.5 housing and trimmed off the spindles then added a set of 2005+ Superduty Dana 60 inner c’s. I cut the c’s off a scrap housing leaving original 60 tubes intact then had the original tubes bored to accommodate the 14 bolt tubes. Used a .002 press fit on the two components.

So the 60 tubes slid over the 14s? This part confused me:

Once I had the inside diameter of the 60 tube bored out to fit the outside diameter of the 14 bolt tube they pressed on yes. The new Superduty 60’s run 4” od tubes.

I have heard of that before, like to see the results.

With the 3 bearings and 10.5 ring it would blow the 60 away in strength, sons the big housing.

Youngest "tested" pos for covid (which one I have no idea) so have to keep him from school for 5 days

Wife is going nutz saying get him tested again and all the crud. He felt bad this am and tested with a home kit, now he is fine. Sounds like the reg flu to me, probably milder. Per the CDC there have only been 80k deaths from "covid only" like the reg flu in 2 years.

I am so tired of this crap,,,,,,,,,,,

Sorry to hear Shawn.  If its as contagious as reported, then you’ll have it soon. And that might be a good thing.  Omicron seems to give backward protection against the other variants but the others don’t provide protection against Omicron.  I believe once this works its way through we’ll be at the endemic phase and can get back to normal and punt all these control freak politicians to the curb.

Yesterday I had to go put two new batteries in the bus.  3 months after the warranty on the AGM platinum battereies from Advance Auto ran out….   Went with OReilly AGM Platinum Series this time.  Changed them in the parking lot so I could only do a cursory terminal cleaning.  Will take them back off and deep clean and coat them with anti corrosion gel.

Sorry to hear that. Son is not bad, wife got sick as crud after getting both the vax and booster.

Did you get the table set up? Might have a little work for you.

No, still moving and finding homes for stuff as I do that. Did get floor to mezzanine insulated.
Living in the remote north hoping Ken doesn’t bring H up here any time soon…..

Charles, have you found that the AGM last that much longer than a regular battery to warrant the cost? Or what’s the thought as to why buy the AGM? We need to add another battery to the dodge and was planning on just adding another regular napa battery.

I spent the last two hours of my day wrestling this together

Transport guy called in,
Loaded a mini X breaker hammer into the rubber tire skiddy, backed that on up there.
Dropped all the buckets to the mini 50 next to the trailer so I could reach it from the deck with the mini.
Chained up the 350 bucket and drug it on to the trailer with the mini and tipped her over flat, picked up both my mini buckets.
If our 350 Deere is full of fuel I have to get a over weight permit or leave the small bucket behind so picked that up,

I cleaned out the chain box except two binders and one chain I wouldn’t strap a ATV down with.

Then blasted down i-15 northbound home

No not really.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.
