Bobby. I now know why they charge so much to detail. I’m working a few panels at a time and it’s taking forever.

Nate if that’s a “man bun”, ask my daughters what I think of those. Told them if they ever brought home a guy with a man bun I’d cut it off.

Koot, looks like you need a little more clay bar lube. Seems to be leaving a little behind.

Well here’s the first load. 24 tons limestone.

Definitely wasn’t his first rodeo. I’ve tried to spread gravel like that and it ain’t easy.

Happy 4th gentlemen.

Happy Independence Day. Think about that next April 15th

Ken. I walked along side the belly dump as he rolled forward and was able to work the external control for the bottom gate to release the amount of material I wanted.  I wound up with a  nice mound of material about 200 ft long.  That allowed me to work the FEL back dragging with the floating bucket to spread it. Back and to the left and back and to the right and I was able to make a fairly neat job of it.  Have a few thin spots I’ll get with the next load and finish on out to the road.

Should've known you had a hand in it Charles. Looks pretty good. I might be faced with a similar gravel purchase in the next few months.

Well. In the shop in 96 degree heat and finished compounding the dually and then put a coat of wax on it.

That is a lot of real estate to work.

But the result is pretty nice.  On to the interior tomorrow. Of course it’s raining and predicted to rain all weekend.

Guess it stays in the shop for a while.

Is that sand or smoke?

Late last night a real deal rocket scientist slipped up a little and poured diluted mineral spirits on potassium. Potassium and water don’t play nice with one another.

Luckily he wasn’t hurt but the building was a pain to ventilate.

Started my truck search hard and heavy again today and found two possibles. A gold colored 2004.5 LLY long bed with cloth seats. 145k miles with an asking price of $17,800. He other one is a white 2005 LLY short bed with leather. 94k miles and he’s asking $20,500. Both 1 owner southern trucks so no rust. The 05 sounds like a better deal but the original owner was a smoker. It has new leather on the front seats and a new headliner but it supposedly has a little smoke smell left. A coworker who owns some rental houses swears an ozone generator will get rid of the smell. Anyone have experience with that?

Love sodium. We got to play with it in organize chemistry lab.

A tight container with a few small holes in it.  About a pound of sodium and toss it in a koi pond and walk away.  Some kids are such hoodlums.

Normally it comes in as a huge wall (like in the sahara movies) 30-80 miles wide, a few hundred feet tall, with rain behind it. Usually over quickly (the dust part) but last night it was sustained 30-40mph for close to an hour..shutting down I-10 for a while.

I have a ozone generator for the house and it works ok. For the truck I would just use regular coffee in an open container. We used it for refrigerated semi trailers and it works like a champ.

I messed up the go pro when I put in on my helmet,  every time I thought I pushed record I was actually turning it off.  So I have lots of video of my helmet hanging on the trailer, or staring at the dirt, or actually video of me taking a leak.  So I won’t be posting any of those sorry

Went fishing with the boys. They played on the kayaks and I caught a couple. One nice 18in rainbow, sure tasted good!

Let them shoot the 23 a few times and the 22/45. Lake was full, temp about 85 and the few boaters left us alone!

Did some dirt work this morning and came across this small crater. I had some old fireworks from Mexico stashed in the shed, and used a few the other night. There was one that I thought was a smoke bomb, almost the size of a tennis ball and made out of plastic. Luckily I decided to play it safe and I tossed it like a grenade. The gravel hit everyone, windows, and rained down on the roof. My ears rang badly. ...was going to keep it to myself but what the heck

Bought a new toy, I mean tool for working around the yard. My wife wanted something that was made for cutting on hills , we live on a ridge line so we have 20 degree hills on either side. She didn’t like the feeling of the upside tire lifting on the lawnmower when she used it. I always like to act like I’m on one of those big expensive racing sailboats and lean way out, but I’m old school.

It’s a Steiner 420 with a 60 inch deck, powered by a Kubota gas engine, 21 HP.

I cut sideways on the slope outside the kitchen yesterday without any problems except a little slippage on the three foot tall grass. Runs good and makes a nice cut on the parts of the yard that were already cut this year.

The last few days I have been in one of our remodel homes.  Damaged by a water leak, homeowner wanted some other things done so we are doing some wall removal, some new built in closets,

I started paint prep since our painters are all to busy to get to them

Here is the closet in the master.

Found a good deal on my wife a new “Mom car”. 2013 4runner limited with 65k miles on it. Purchased from somebody’s grandmother for payoff. She got all the bells and whistles she wanted and I got the only thing I wanted which was 4x4.

So far I am impressed with this thing. Rides much better than I thought it would.

Charcoal is a pretty color, the redwood interior really sets them off too.

Does that year have the hydraulic suspension on the limited?

Yes it does. I think Toyota call it XREAS and it works very well. It feels similar to the air suspension on the Rebel I had but better. We drove a 2015 Trail edition with a Toytec suspension system and a new 2018 without XREAS and neither one rode as good as this one on the road.

Nothing wrong with it, we would have preferred it. There was only one new Limited white pearl w/redwood in the state, and I called them to tell them we were on the way to get it. We arrived 45 minutes later and it was getting prepped for someone else. They said we should've put down a deposit but didn't ask for one when I called them...err I was so pissed.
Underpaid and misunderstood since 2014
