Some thought provoking thoughts
« on: February 19, 2015, 08:10:26 AM »
I just attended the CGIA conference (Church Growth International of the Americas) in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

We had the great fortune of listening to many anointed speakers. One of those presentations is summarized in the earlier post I made, "A four letter word."

There is too much that happened to write about, best shared in the shade of an Oak, near water, sippin' on sweet tea sitting in an annarondeck chair!

So I just picked some pretty good quotes from my notes:

* We are a world living in fear, we ought to be a world living in awareness. Israel lives in awareness

* A man who is out of touch with God is out of place

* Revival is about the disruption of the status quo

* Passion supersedes your personality

* Men who have no convictions will tolerate anything

* ...In being in the way, the Lord led me...Gen 24

* Well, Jesus, I see we are still on the same old terms, good night.

* If you judge yourself, then God won't have to

* You can talk about God, or you can talk to God

* If you fail a test God has put before you, then you get to take that test again!

* If God is testing us in something, then he must have taught us something

* Can you love people when they aren't being good?

* Faith that is not tested, can not be trusted

* We are a "who-so-ever" church

* Love God, then do as you please (think about it...)

* We need the touch of the master's hand

I hope that some of these touch you as they did me...God Bless!

its funny that you talk about this.  this is something that I have tried to instill in many of the young Soldiers over the course of my Military career.  as well as many of the civilian people that I have had to deal with.

truthfully, I really do believe that this statement is something that a majority of this world is lacking.  if we as humans (americans) took our convictions more seriously, then we would not be in a lot of the negative situations that we find ourselves in.
If you need the promise of eternity in the kingdom of heaven to be a good person … You were never a good person in the first place!

Old school country artist Aaron Tippin:

"You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything
You've got to be your own man not a puppet on a string
Never compromise what's right and uphold your family name
You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything"

Simple and straight forward and often made fun of as being cheesy. I like it, Dad and Grandpa liked it. It should be part of our American pride and traditions.
