Been kinda nice here too. Rain but nothing like last year. Speaking of leaves though the front yard is nasty with those little buggers. Tree is finally done losing em though. Chopped of a branch that overhang the neighbors trailer. Now to see if I can top my tree. Getting out of hand and helps the solar too.

Well, I'll just stick with walked away for now. Inflation feels more like 20-30%, not even including fuel costs. Plus being on a fixed income doesn't help, best I see is 3%.

One reason we chose it, lots of parts!

What 305? Out of the elky, thats gone as well as the LS swap I had. An LS may be in the future though.

Him getting a DL in Kali being under 18 is a chore. Got his permit the other day, can't even practice until he gets a "paid" lesson. Then another 5 hours after that and when he gets his CDL he can't drive with anyone whos not under 25 for 6 months. Shoot, I walked in on the 16th and drove away!

Been ordering parts for this for the past week. Mostly little stuff, TBI kit, door pins, Battery hold down and such.

So the other day I tore the TBI apart, today it stopped raining so I got back on with my boy. Did a reseal on the TBI and it fired right up! Let it idle some, checked fluids and told my boy to jump in. Drove it down the street, seemed to shift good, sounded good (has a flowmaster). No powerhouse but it felt good, can't believe I drove a standard cab for a few years.

Stock is just 160hp, looking to bump it up some with bolt ons, maybe even a cam and rockers. Doing the TBI stuff first, simple spacer and air cleaner bowl.

We are talking cam, rockers and a 2.5 Rough Country lift, tires and a rear locker. He like the prerunner stuff and look.

Well, as stated we made a change. The 4Runner is (made a $100 on it) and found this 1993 GMC Sonoma, 4.3 6, 4L60 trans 4x4. Pretty much stock, but non running when we got it. Son always wanted a truck, I talked him into the 4Runner (was pushing for a Cherokee actually)

Interior is OK, but needs TLC. Blue/grey interior, bucket seats with little jump seats in the back. About what you would expect for a 30 year old truck really.

Body is OK, but needs TLC too. Biggest thing is the left bedside is pushed in a little, but some came out with a suction cup aleady. Besides that a few small dings, but nothing needing real bodywork. Stock 15 tires and wheels and I think and open rear with the RPO codes.

When we got it, tags were expired (2 months) and it didn't run, has a fuel leak on the TBI.

Was a chore getting it onto the trailer being a non runner. Drug up a sloped driveway to the downhill street (both were steep) The little 2500# HF winch could not do it. After I drug it up to the street, I jumped in and rolled it backwards onto the trailer (everyone was screaming at me). Ended up not getting far enough onto the trailer and with the engine in the rear the load was way off. First timed I braked it was a wild ride, so we found a flat area and pushed it forward as much as we could after turning the still loaded bucket. Was fine after that.

For those that don't know that area (most of you) there are 3 ways to Clearlake. 1 is through Napa and a pain to drive in a regular car, 2 is via hwy 101 above Santo Rosa (same road type) and the way I took is up 5 through Williams which is way better for trailers. Trip home was uneventfull after that and fuel was even 50 cents less a gallon on HWY 5, so I filled up.

Floor is still going, been under the weather since last weekend.

No corona or other crap. But after I started coughing blood up a little I got to the DR today. I have that darn RSV or whatever they call it. Lungs clear, ticker looks good but little sleep and hacking will drag you down some.

We did manage to sell the 4Runner tonight, will deliver tomorrow. Made a $100 on it and I got $50 for fuel. Course I blew most of that getting parts already.

Yeah, my youngest thought the gehl could go anywhere being 4x4 (I had a moment or 2) and he got really stuck in soft soil. Took a few attemps, but he got out with the bucket.

Getting a tracked unit stuck take practice, big hole you said?

PGE charges $10 to be on the "grid" with solar. My trueup this year was over 3K. I am adding more panels to offset that more and the new invertor supplies 1500watts if the grid is down (SMA).

I have about 4k tied up in the off grid system at the Ridge. 48v/200ah system which I plane to add another 4 batteries too. My panels are older, but the price was right. Also setting it up to allow easy adjustments and may even go with a tracker on it. Right now I have 2x100watt panels charging the the lifo's in parallel and a single 12v agm. With a 2k invertor it runs the micro easy and the fridge is doing fine (500ah running thet!)

New tech is just getting better. The lifo 200ah batteries are now $200 less than I paid. You can run em to almost 0% and they have a 3000 cycle on that. Unless you have real dedicated system even a few panels will keep them up for days.

I will still run a gen for now when demand/220 is needed. I like diesel as it keeps for years, however propane is good if you can get it and it doesn't like the cold

Here we go again. 4runner is proving not prime for the boy, he wants a truck. Sure a Toy would be nice but pricey, but he like the older S-10/S-15 GM even better. So this followed us home today (10 hour day as the winch gave out).

Plus I know these trucks, just like an G-body (el camino-monte carlo). Parts are cheap and plentiful, even have some laying around.

4x4, V6 4.3ltr, body straight but a few dings. Has an oil leak by the pan and a throttle body leak, minor. Got for the same price as the 4R which is now on FB.

Had it back about 4ft to far on the trailer at first which showed its ugly head at the first stop. Couldn't load nose in because of terrain.

I think a solar setup for the farm is something to look into.

Yes I know you have power, but just think how nice it would to not have to worry about it if something is down or going on.

Get some lithium batteries, a 10-12 panel array and a simple 50kw converter. I have the similar at the ridge and it will be my main power for sometime. 48v systems (seem to be most eff) and about to double the battery storage (400AH) With panels and batteries good for 20+ years you are set forever.

Money always seems to be the culprit.

Started doing the floors in the house yesterday. Hoping to have the living room and hallway done by next weekend. Will leave the rooms for later.

There is a soft/low spot in the ply right where vacuum is. I had moved a vent there sometime ago. Now the vent is right in the middle of the room, so that needs to be addressed too. Plus the rabbit had free to run around (see all the stains) and the vent is about destroid now. I will move the hvac vent to the wall by the closet and replace the plywood.

Yep, those look like road tires. Good for better MPG but no real teeth to bite.

I have a multi machine both here and the prop. Haven't tried yet as I can barely move in the garage again.

One at the prop is a HF unit, think DC only. Home one is an ac/dc unit now that I know AC is better.

Got a 55amp Yeswelder (very cheap) for the droid, supposed to work. (none HF start) If not I have an older 42amp thermal dynamics unit. I want a dedicated unit for it.

There 3-4 inches deep in my front yard. These are nasty little ones. 2-3 trips on the roof cleaning/clearing gutters (I have gutter screens).

Is the pool heated now? I couldn't dream of that here without going bankrupt.

The time has been good for this. At least 2 seasons to settle and compact more. Most of the build is near the rear and west side. The main fill is a turn around/parking area or will be the patio area.

The 2 test digs I filled are still requiring a hammer to break some of it up.

Spring for the foundation, building summer. Living quarters right after. With the weather turning I can't see digging the foundation now.

Until then I have the solar and septic to finish. Funding and being on site are the main issues. All is paid for but the foundation and living area.
