Hey there fellas, long time no see. Wanted to drop in to say hello and see how everyone is doing. Doing ok here, lots has changed since you probably heard from me. I think last time I posted we had just had our first baby, sometime early 2018. Anyhow, she's 2.5 now.. Daddy's girl for sure. Almost 3 months ago, we had our second, a little boy. I can't even begin to explain how much I enjoy being a dad, which is primarily why I have been absent from here for so long. All of my time is spent with my kids after work, and what little remains after they're in bed I try to work on my projects and chores (maybe a couple other thread updates needed!) Our chocolate lab turns 3 later this month, and has turned out to be the best dog. He's very gentle with my kids. Love that dog.
It's definitely been a whirlwind couple of years since you've heard from me. In addition to the enormous blessings of our kids, we've also had our fair share of challenges. We discovered some major issues with our house, and are currently in litigation with the builder over numerous construction defects resulting in severe water intrusion and resulting rot. We have a very strong case, based on the thousands of photos taken throughout construction, but it's still a slog and attorneys and industry expert witnesses are damn expensive. Our family has had some health challenges also. My dad was diagnosed with cancer, battled it, beat it, and is now in remission. Sadly though, my mother in law lost her 3 year battle with cancer a few weeks ago, and is now passed on to eternity with our Lord.
Lot's of good times though too! We continue to enjoy spending our vacation time camping, either up in the mountains our at our family friend's place out at the beach. Last year we upgraded RV's again, jumped to a fifth wheel this time. Zero regrets. Love the fifth wheel so far. The LBZ handles it nicely once I added airbags.... but truth be told I've got my eye on a Cummins megacab. Around the place, I've really got the shop dialed in, made some tool upgrades, built some stuff. May have to snap some photos and show you all what the shop looks like now.
Anyway, here's some updated photos of the family. Can't promise I'll be posting regularly, but will try to update some of my threads, and DOT up one of yours from time to time.
