Congrats on getting him that far and him still liking you.  The next 4-5 makes all the difference.  I hope my girls still like me when they are 15.
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

First of all, Happy Birthday !!!

I'm not well-liked around my house by teenage daughters, their boyfriends, my wife or my mother-in-law at present.  Something about me being too "black and white" on "everything".

The 9-year-old boy and the dog still seem to like me.

Yup! That was a throw together last minute for her... She's pretty dang good! It's a hobby of hers and with 9 kids she is getting pretty decent at it. I like to help a little myself on some things- here's one of my favorites from this year:

Meant to reply to this- here's his truck. It's the truck I drove him home from the hospital in, so it's only fitting.
87' Chevrolet 350TBI/400t

I paid dearly to regain possession of this dude in my divorce from the practice wife! She runs and drives out good. Bottom end is still factory- redid the heads circa 2002 or so. Plans are to re-finish the interior to work truck trim level and sand blast and paint the exterior. Prolly just hit the frame with rust converter and under carriage coating... Not going to go too full blown on it just for him to tear it up again! I restored it once in 00'. It held up pretty good. The clock showed 7k on it when I bought it and re-did it. I rolled the clock twice while I drive it- so it has at least 300k miles on it...

Oh right on! Every boys first truck should be a single cab Chevy if you ask me.

My first ride was an '89 single cab K1500...  ;D

He's gonna love that. 2wd or lowered 4x4?

So cool to have that truck with the history. I would love to still have some of my old vehicles to share with my kids. You are fortunate indeed (and so is he!).
