Which Drone?

I would like to purchase a drone to help me document trips, the farm, events, who knows what

I do not know enough about the subject to even be dangerous

I do however know what I would like to get out of one:

Long flight time of 25 minutes or more
I would like it to couple to my cell phone
Simple controls
Follow me mode
Good terrain and hazard avoidance
Some return to home automatic safe mode if:
   It gets lost
   Looses signal
   Battery gets low
GPS coupled
Moderate cost
Great camera which is stabilized
Not too large
Proven
I want to see what it sees from my controller or cell phone
Autonomous mode so I can hands free and have the thing film me and the boys doing things like fly fishing

I was looking at the Mavic, then the Holy Stone HS 720, then...

What would you folks who are knowledgeable suggest I purchase?

Most of the utube guys I watch (and pretty sure JR approved) use some version of the DJI mavic...the Zoom model is pretty popular.

Its looking more and more like the Mavic. Ken thinks the zoom model. Cost would be considerable, say $1300- $1500 all done. We'll see

I would wait for JR to chime in, he seems to be the SME. Not that any of your suggestions are invalid, I would imagine his spidey senses are tingling as we speak

Norm posted a review of one a while ago. But honestly Best Buy has a good selection of drones, I've been looking at getting one to document hiking trips or  just general exploring.

More research today. DJI pro or zoom seem to be the ones I am gravitating to.

I want strong autonomous obstacle avoidance, and those have it.

Missed this until now.

I have the parrot anifi like Norm and really like it. About 1/2 the price on the Mavic. Good camera, all the features you want. Got mine referb but on the fritz with the TX getting dropped.

The DJIs are good, good support drones, but many don't like the price and size. The Anifi does not have avoidance which could be handy.

The zoom looks like a good choice. Mavic tend to be noisy too.

That was shaping up to be my first choice, but when I read it didn't have avoidance, I moved on

Unless you are flying through and around things, little to worry about.

If you are flying via the camera your OK. For looking down like I do its great. It sits where you put it, then returns home with the push of a button.

I also chose it as the screen is above the controller, not under it.

Think it depends on where you are and you use. If you are going to use the follow me mode with crazy surroundings, maybe. It is not full proof either.

I set height and distance and go with that. I hit return and it goes straight back to where you launched, then down.

Now, I believe the camera on the DJI might be a little better, but the Anifi did what I want.

If you don't use OA, look at the Mavic Air too.

One thing I like is the anifi is quiet, all the DJIs tend to be noisy from all I have heard.

That depends, this might be the first time something ran into the big green tractor instead of the other way around.
