Was a deal made with the wife on getting a housekeeper? With this monster I know my wife would freak.

Nicely done sir.

We did too. We love our choices, but admittedly we were stressed about the reactions from family and friends! Until it was done we were so nervous that something would look wonky or clash

You guys have a knack! Everything looks great

I can so testify. I have 5320 Ft2 and I can say there is absolutely NO WAY to keep it clean. Especially with kids and animals.
I hire one of my girls a few times a month @ $100-$150 a sitting and I'm getting the work on the cheap.
Judging from looking at that thing, and all those kids, you're talking a deep cleaning ($$$$) probably every 6 weeks, and cleaning every 2 weeks at a bare minimum!

I don't think it matters. Our last house was close to 4K sq2 & new house is 3k sq2. With kids & a dog it doesn't stay cleaned.  ::)

Looks good HC, hope you enjoy it for many years to come.

Looks great! For cleaning you might take a look at one (or a few ha!) Of the iRobot vacuum cleaners. Reviews on them now are pretty good. You could have one do downstairs at 2AM or so when everyone's sleeping and then the other set to do upstairs at noon or something when everyone's at school/work.

I doubt they will ever do a true deep clean but seem to be just the thing for the needed daily sweep for sirt, pet hair etc.

We have one, they work good. We don't run it at night as it does "bump" into things & tended to wake light sleepers in the house. We use ours just on the main level.

Have been looking at those bots for some time now, glad to hear they works better as it is on the list!

When we moved to CO & lived in an apartment for a few months last year we bought one at Costco. We have a Golden & her hair sheds like crazy. I literally had to clean the roomba daily but it worked flawlessly if it was kept cleaned. Now dog is outside or in her kennel (at night) here at our home & I clean it once a week. You would not believe how much it picks up. We keep it on first floor & it runs daily while I'm at gym in morning. It also forces you to keep stuff picked up & put away.

It's refreshing to know I am not the only one with this issue.  My wife is awesome at many things, cleaning is just not one of them.  Her idea of cleaning is to call someone to do it.  So quite often I end up doing it myself then spend the money on something that I wanted to buy anyway.  If she is gonna pay someone, it might as well be me!

Basement

Foyer - from basement stairs

Living room

Kitchen

Mud room

Laundry

Office

Master

Master bath

Master shower

The baddest fridge in the history of fridges!

Mommas work station (in progress)

Office

Coffee service area (runs between master and office)

It's all still pretty dirty and we are about broke! But I'd say before long we will have a nice "little" pad to call home sweet home! Our vision has really come to life here. It's so exciting seeing all the pieces come together!

Looking good Blaine!  I love my built in fridge and knock on wood, no problems in more than 8 years on this one.  Those things cost as much as a small car.

I really dig the mud room (or in your case, the locker room)  People in the south don't seem to do that very often.  If I build another one, I plan on having one.  I've been designing a simple farm house over the last several years as a "maybe one day" kind of thing and I want a large separate room to enter from the back with the extra fridge and freezer, big double utility sink, bulk storage pantry, washer/dryer, and coat and boot storage. Maybe even a small shower if I don't put one outside in the shop. Tile floors sloped with a drain in it.  When its dirty, hose it down and be done
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

x2 on TRN comments on the Mudroom - really a great idea!  I'd love to be able to come in, sit down and take off the outer layers without spreading mother nature around!  Love the look of EVERYTHING you guys have picked out- classy and top notch.

Really happy for you all to be able to enjoy it soon! :)

That fridge is massive!

I looked around a long time trying to figure out what to do in my new garage.  I didn't like the solid color look or the cost of the good epoxy products.  But I refused to do the cheap floor paint that you find at big box stores.  I had done that before and it didn't last well at all.  I wanted something I could apply with a roller, basically gave a gloss shine to the concrete, was durable and was reasonably priced.  I finally landed on the Legacy Industrial HD6525MMA sealer and couldn't be happier.

I should have known better than to post without a picture.  I started a thread for it, and anyone else that has preferred concrete coatings so we can have a quick comparison of several options.
