Guys, thinking about getting another dump trailer. Things have cooled down some and see them all over now.

Most run right in the 8k area for a 6x12, 10k. I seem to recall a couple of you guys have a factory nearby that sell direct, or you have an "IN" to get them.

Still kinda looking local, but a little road trip would be great with boys out of school.

When I close on selling my farm (Serious buyer looking this coming week) I'll be selling mine. I'm admittedly too far to come but its a 17,500. 12-footer. You want them shorter unless you're hauling brush. Just a little gravel will overload almost all of them

Thats why I'm looking for a 6x12, great size, figure 2-3ft walls. Run a 8in board along the top to save it. Think I can get a 14k an they badge as a 10k. Many states now are adopting this 10k trailer rule unless you have a CDL.

Boys out of school, youngest got a 4Runner,

Older boy graduated, of course I had to attend that!

Wifes BD (yes I got her stuff/card we went to local casino for dinner and I won a little)

Anniversary (right?)

JR, my trailer is a 6x 12. I often wish it was 7 wide as extra foot wide would be good. I use three 2x6 on the top of metal. Really helps with the unsecured load laws. I need to get stake pockets on the end gate for additional height at times.

Finally got back up there after a busy June. Left half what I wanted to bring up home, such is life!

Road was grown over so spent a couple hours on that. Need to make a real drag and spray it some. If I could keep the growth down a drag would be way easier.

Did a full service on the Kubota, right at 2500hrs now, runs great! Oil was about the worst. Hydro looked great but still think I should change the filters. It need a couple bucket links up front. Pricing now as the bucket is pretty sloppy on tilt. Replaced 4 pins last year but its the links and pins. Pins are not pricy but I think the links will be. I did add a grab bar on the right side. I had had a strap up there as when driving I would push down with my arm and it would get pretty sore (nerve type). Simple conduit and a hammer with self tapping bolts, works great!

Didn't work on Dug at all. Never got to the ram rebuild but I did get the kits in. He will be needed soon!

Then I marked off the foundation to really locate it for some digging. Ended up moving it over about 5ft into the rear wall, then twisting it away from the road. I needed the extra room to try to make the county happy with a fire turn around that will never fit unless I cover the natural water run off. We will see.

I now have 15ft on the rear and left side. Wall is pretty solid in the back there, maybe push back some later. However the left side wall (west) near the front will be pushed way back and will really open it up.

I then dug a couple test trenches down about 2ft, final will be around 3 but still need to final level and bring in base. These were both in the rear where it was cut down, so still some hard stuff under there.

The Kubota struggled with a couple rocks, which I figured. The breaker will come in handy for these spots and I need the Cat Exc up there. The Kubota's breakout is 4500lb, the Cats is almost 10K, so between the that and the breaker I should be fine. South/West corner is right next to the pillars are stacked (white stake right under the septic)

Dang, no updates here but I was up a couple weeks back. Thats the weekend I felt like crud and ended up in the hospital for 4 days! They still don't know what I had????

Got a load to take up, but stuff around here has kept me busy and I have to save for cement now.

Figure I need 1300' ft of #5, about 3-400 of #4 and a lot of stakes. I have found about 40 so far and a bender I got for a C note. Had a line a about a 150 but they were sold before I got there, bummed.

I need to get the truck bedslider down as I have a good load to take up. Kinda eyeing another 20 ft container too, but looking for a real deal and I can haul myself.

Did score about 60 more stakes, so think I am good now. I had some, bought about 100 and got a bender to boot.

With how I am doing the foundation (3 parts) I should be good.

Wondering is its still all there? Showing 50f high and 32f low, not bad.

I did get started on this, but ran out of steam and time.

Trip up this weekend went well. Loaded up the rebuilt slider and it never even burped.

Fork extensions, tarps, rebar bender and about 60 stakes in there too. Need a few more stakes though, to many shorty's.

Haven't been up in a month, hate getting sick I'm to young!

Rearranged the building moving it all up to the front edge away from the foundation work. Everything started right up, love good equipment.

Worked on the water runoff, cutting a swale along the west edge. North wall needs addressing to as you can see the runoff down the face. I have a ditch cut up there, but think this is just above it. Looks like some shovel work,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Lots more room now, needed to address the tarps on the building hardware. I may move the sheetmetal onto the container roof.

No pic of the retarp, got dark but a single 18x24 tarp covered it all fine when I move the roll up door rails up front.

Another trip in the books. Good to be back on it.

Just did lots of organizing, dropped off the compactor and the repaired ram for Dug. Ran out of daylight and energy on this trip.

Did manage to repair the Kubota's brush guard. Had a bend that has been bugging me and I want to put a flood light down there, 16in fits just right. Used a new vevor porta power. Had the right adapters to do the job.

Filled up the Dmax for way less than Kali prices. With the big tank and being the daily anymore I hardy ever need to top off down here.

Dug is back up, finally got the ram on. Now to figure a 12v servo to run the quick attach on it and the Kubota. Hydro would be a pain.

Tarps holding up OK. Got the 12m HD this time.

Road was slick as heck coming in, melted before I left.

Spring for the foundation, building summer. Living quarters right after. With the weather turning I can't see digging the foundation now.

Until then I have the solar and septic to finish. Funding and being on site are the main issues. All is paid for but the foundation and living area.

JR, do you think your fill has compacted enough for foundation installation? Might do some testing and bring in a big compactor if needed. Would hate to have things settle on you after putting in so much time and work.

The time has been good for this. At least 2 seasons to settle and compact more. Most of the build is near the rear and west side. The main fill is a turn around/parking area or will be the patio area.

The 2 test digs I filled are still requiring a hammer to break some of it up.

Went up Sunday just for once over. With all the holidays I hadn't been for a few weeks.

Was just gorgeous! 50f, sunny and everything was just as I left it. Tractors all started fine and I found my laser/level setup charger that was MIA.

No sign of any real rain or snow, lots of horse poo, but none sighted this trip. Reset the trail cam as the solar rechargeable batteries didn't cut it.

Another great weekend up there. Tad on the chili side at night (30f) but manageable with the igloo and a buddy heater.

Kubota gave me a run with the battery acting up. After 4 years the corrosion has done its job and we had a no start issue. Jumping it was a joy being in the container, but I had 20' cables. My little jumper box did no good with the corrosion and even though this has a jumper plug, I don't have the lead for that (will remedy)
Battery tested fine along with charging system. But the cables and such were in need of attention. I had to run to a nieghbor to borrow a brush. Cleaned everything including grounds, coated much of the contacts with grease. Now she starts right up.

Everything else ran fine but the gen, so no well output yet. That and septic (my real goal this weekend). Lots of finding stuff in the container (did I mention its a mess?)

Road is more than clear, no ice at all and someone dragged it so the TH needs to get up here soon. (no more container sleeping?)

Sounds like good building weather. Get the toy hauler up there and then let the building begin. Looks like you searched out a very nice spot to spend your time doing whatever. Work a few hours, tinker a few, take a nap and start over. Or not.

Had that happen before. I was fine, but a kid who was with me parents called search/rescue. I asked what was up when I came down of Saddleback mountian in Scal (great off roading), err 45 years ago!

Would see guys jump off in hang gliders from there, now thats crazy!

Dang wish it would warm up some. 20s at night are just a little much for me in the container.

Is a nice 50 or so during the day so I get some done. Kubota still giving me issues. Pretty sure its the battery and will change the clow plugs to. It runs, then get rough and dies, so maybe injectors? All are easy to fix and crazy priced.

Got a good foot of snow last week, pretty much melted now. Also had a visitor passing through, nice sized critter.

Dang camera keeps going off. 10-15 pics a day and nothing. Not sure if its the sun or something going by the lens fast.

Picked up a load of #5 rebar this weekend. I need 65 to go around the foundation and a few more for the massive footings. I got 73 I think for $800, less than 1/2 the retail price. Finding #4 is easy, just need that to wrap the together.

My youngest found these thrown over a wall by the freeway, think almost 100 of them. Just the right shape to for wrapping the #5.

Plan for this week load up the trailer with stuff to leave up there and get a battery for the kubota. Still have to fix the generator (got a kit off amazon) thats blowing smoke like the float is stuck. Got a little ecoflow that works good to. Ran all my stuff last time and it runs a little compressor I got too. not having air up there is an issue with a few things (flat on the gehl). Of course if the gen gets running OK then its a non issue.

Plan is to take a bunch of goodies up this weekend. I am keeping too much stuff here and adding to it. Didn't get the bucket nor the pole done for last weekend and hoping the weather is OK.

Gen repair parts, rebar and the bent rebar son found.

Getting the bucket ready for the new ears, cleaned off the old whatever mount. Then ran out of acetylene, might try propane and trade the tank for another ox.

Welded a plate on a 6in pole for the solar array so it swivels, giving 20% more power or so. Just 8 panels for now, 200watts each.

Heading up in the AM for the day, kids back in school monday and to cold right now for overnights in the cube.

Anyway, got a goo trailer load to go up. Just missed a load of 4x4 welded cement wire today for free. Was twenty 4x20 sheets in town.

Odd stuff like solar mount (1/2) BBQ, and that load of #5 rebar. Bucket is coming back again. Just couldn't finish it, rained when I went out but got a little done.

Also got a nice PC rack that will be the home for my solar setup. That will clear the paint cabinet for, paint!

Got some done on the solar mount cap. Had to spread the pipe so it goes over the other 6in pipe. You can't just buy this, it goes from 6 to 8 inch!

Bucket got it mounts fully removed and a bar added to move it around (works great!)

Got a load delivered to the site. 85 #5 rebar, bunch of #4 bends, cabinet, material lift and more. Bucket came back as I didn't finish the mount.

Great weather, mid 50s during the day but flipping cold when the sun sets. Not Sam cold, but too much for me now.

Can't get the kabota to run at all now, still thinking fuel issue. Cranks and sounds fine with a new battery. Found these cracks in the wheels. Will need to address, welding should be fine.

Gehl fired right up but it what looks like a hydraulic leak. Everything works great otherwise. Oh the battery switch went bad, but got a couple new ones.

For you guys with shops these material lifts are great. Used they go for around $500, but saves your back. I use to load the trailer too.
