Unplug the connector and look for discoloration of any more terminals. I would guess more than one was bad when they fixed it last time.

Dave, I would ask the dealer and let the rep know at the same time. $300 for that is OK if they actually found and issue and replaced it with a new harness, not a crimp!

I'm tired tonite. Took down about 50ft of old rotten fence and stacked it next to the roof tearoff. Neighbor was going to help, but had to work. Tomorrow they come get it all and some $$$.

Rented a bobcat today and the  rockhound attachment. Working on putting the yard back together, but the backyard is a swamp. Wish i'd splurged for a tracked model.

Some of you know from the prayer thread that my boss had a stroke Wednesday morning. He has no family. Never married. No siblings except a cousin in Florida who dropped everything and rushed up here. Thank god he did. Randy is so stubborn but cousin Kenny knows how to talk to him. They have been close since they were little kids. We have been clening out his house. We have to go buy him a new adjustable bed. We have to hire a carpenter to put a shower in his upstairs bathroom. Then the hard part. Gotta figure out his filing system to get bills pays. Then I have to learn how to run the combine and hire extra help. On top of all that I am his power of attorney so I'm chasing paperwork. AND we just got a letter from the accountant. He has terminal lung cancer and only has days left. We worked closely with him over the years. He does all the books. Its been a rough few days but I know we will get through this. Randy is doing good. Still has some bleeding on the brain. In a couple weeks when he gets stronger they have to do surgery on his arteries in his neck. They are critically closed. I don't know if they are clogged or hardened and shrunk.
We just had a talk last week about how he needs to let us do more in case something happens. Yea yea we will work on that he said. I walked into the hospital room yesterday. He said well you wanted to learn how to run the combine. You don't have a choice now. Oh and I have to keep a close eye on the markets. We still  have around 50,000 bushels of corn to move.

It appears from the picture you have no support under the i joists. If this is so I was wondering what you were going to do about that? You had stated to me something about notching the wall studs (maybe you did and I just can't make it out in the pics).

I saw they are notched. More bracing might be nice, unless he plans on dancing up there. I see the filler too, is it screwed or nailed?

If nailed I would at least ad couple timberlocks per.

Ok, I see now. He notched the horizontal 2x4 under them. I saw the filler block as well was just worried he scanned both the 2x4 below & the i joists into the wall stud. I was worried enough weight would then shear off the screws or nails he used. So never mind my mindless ramblings....

Yes. Traditional balloon framing. 2x4 let into the 2x6 studs with glue and screws.  Ijoists are installed with Filler blocks and nailed. Once t&g installed it won't be going anywhere.

JR I promise the two of us fat guys dancing won't move that floor.  It may move some onlookers to nausea but not the floor.  lateral movement is limited by several factors, not the least of which is the sub floor is connected at the sides directly to the studs via a 2x9 1/2 inch piece of lumber.  Lateral forces will be transferred to the end walls.

My son is putting up a larger two story pole building. That thing is really moving around when walking on the second floor. No problem he says, wait for the metal roofing and sides to be installed and the front framed in, it will be rock solid. What the heck do I know, never been around a metal pole building being built before.

I cut bracing for mine today out of the removed peak joist. Found out I need to shear the hallway wall below the floor.

When this is done I can park my truck on it.

Placed a game camera in the middle of nowhere this weekend. ..really hope no one steals it.

Lots of infrastructure for being in the middle of nowhere. Maybe get a dud camera to draw attention and then conceal the real one nearby. You'll get pics of people trying to steal the camera.

Or you'll get picks of migrant farm workers with backpacks full of meth and explosives looking for a better life in America

Funny, I was thinking to myself that wherever 'middle of nowhere' is, someone fenced it off.

Photographer: Dad, why don’t you set up a backdrop for baby photos.
Me: Sure, be back in 10 minutes.
Photographer: Um, you probably shouldn’t do that.
Me: Why?
Photographer: You’re going to get arrested.
Me: Won’t be the first time. Take the dagum picture.

Luckily the photographer is also my sister so she just gave me some lighthearted ribbing then went about business as usual. She may live in the city now but she grew up in the same place as me.

That is my grandpa on the mule, his Winchester, lantern, antlers from a buck he killed, and a box of ammo I found while cleaning out their house. The knife was handmade by my uncle from a plow point and a shed antler he found on my mom and dad's farm. The spurs belonged to my other grandpa, who wore them every day on their ranch in New Mexico during the late 30's and 40's. We also set up a similar scene with his rifle, and yet another with a rifle my wife's father gave to her. Some of these pictures will be Christmas gifts to mine and my wife's dads.

That is such a cool pic! Love it!

I'm impatiently waiting for my Black Rifle Quoffee.
They are opening up here, and I'm in for a free bag.
I screwed up and didn't try to get all of them, pay for the others, but oh well.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

I haven't downloaded them to the pc yet Bob, or I would post some. There are way more deer in that area than I could've imagined. So far, 6 different bucks (2 nice ones) and at least 3 separate groups of does, some with fawns that like to dive/fall into the water pit. lol 3 coyotes, a fox, and a couple rabbits. Birds haven't set it off because of the distance I think.

Thank you Ken. I’m lucky to have a wife who not only agrees to that kind of stuff, but is excited and participates.

I thought that tank may be a conservation project or some sort. Is it legal to hunt around those or is it viewed as bait?

I thought I would be able to rest once back at work but that was not in the cards today. Just got back at 2300 from our second hazmat call of the day. Dump truck driver forgot to lower his bed and caught a traffic light, which turned him over on the highway. Lost a lot of oil and hydraulic fluid.

You'd think they'd have some kind of safety mechanism to prevent driving  away with the bed up. Limit to 5mph or something so they can still spread the load out.

I'm surprised a traffic light would flip it. I figured if he caught the light it would just pull free - even the pole too as I thought most of those poles were the breakaway types ? Course I'm guessing when the beds up the stability of the truck changes a lot so might be pretty easy to flip at that point.

I’ve driven dump trucks quite a bit and you can definitely feel a difference in the truck when the bed is raised. Plus, looking in any of the mirrors would have revealed his error. I don’t know how he didn’t realize it.

I would guess either in a big hurry, or distracted driving while using cell phone, or bad case of driving while head where the sun don't shine. I have seen many wires down, bridges hit, trucks on side, etc. because of these distractions. Embarrassing for the driver, lost production for the company, plus the cost of the damage.

Got away for a little bit and watched my baby girl play some volleyball. 9th grade junior varsity. 3 points in a row serving. One mean redhead. Takes after her mother.

Youtube has MANY of those truck incidents.

Daughter loves volleyball too. It got clicky and she lost interest when it got to traveling and the HS teams. She is happy in cross country now. She's 5'9" and was really good.

JR- I am not that good at taking pictures as I go like many of us on here...I get distracted with the task at hand and before I know it I'm 8 hours into a project. I will post up some progress on here as I can/remember to.

Continued the DEMO DAY!......More DEMO MONTH! Removed half "wall" separating kitchen from living room and a tiny pantry for the double ovens...feels never ending. once the kitchen is out wood floors go in. Wish me luck
