I would talk to him for sure. Even 225k is not bad but I would do the tranny while out.

I hear of many of these going 400-500 so with the EGR delete you should be fine.

Mine is 162k right now and runs great.

I would like to address some of the turbo setup too. It works, but I see issues with it. As is, it puts out 4psi, which I read can go as high as 10, but 8 is safe. The oil drain is 45* off center and they mangled the AC stuff to get it in there. Plus I want my AC back. Need a new housing, evap and dryer.

Biggest is where the turbo sits. It should fit forward more with the intake forward. I think the air filter is an issue too. Makes three 90* and then is really taped to the filter housing which looks like a DIY box that is cold air at least, 3in. Easiest fix here would be the Banks pass manifold, but they are $350. It would require a new downpipe (inside the frame at least!) and a crossover. I have looked the van and HMVV manifolds, but they just don't seem to work.

New air filter sitting on the pass fender is the way to go. Then I can get cold air from the window area or a snorkel. Research shows a 95+ gm truck filter setup may work. I am leaning towards that or a round HD tractor filter if I can find the right one.

The 6.2 is growing on me more and more, but it will never be a 6BT either.

Been buying parts and struggling to get it to start all the time. Got a similar battery and redid the cables (what a mess) using military style clamps. Most cables got new crimped and soldered connectors. Will add the correct color heat shrink when it comes in and + post covers.

Now it starts great but the glow plugs just seem to run work when they want to. Picked up a bypass setup that uses a relay and momentary switch, that is next when the rain stops some with the lift pump/filter.

Rear door opened up for window motor. Needs a new lock solenoid also and someone removed the little rod for the manual lock I need to find now.

I have seen were they have a relay kit for the windows so the switches don't do all the work.

Also want to find a remote kit for it and add a solenoid to the rear door. Any of you guys have a system you recommend? There are so many out there it is nuts!!

Are you doing a multi tune Don or just 1 tune?

My wife and daughter have the same BP.

I would think O2 content/transfer too, almost like COPD that my mom had. 95%+ at rest, down to 80 when she moved around but she smoked for 40 years.

Time for a specialist!

My new system is 48v and 4000watts. Using an SMA inverter that also has 1500 watt AC when the grid is down. Installed system is 4000w also, with a SolarEdge inverter. It only operates when the grid is up (as most do) so what I don't use, I get credit (very small). It will pay for itself in another 6 years.

I agree on the 48 volt panels and prices have really come down. Half my panels are new, half are used (1-2 years) but the price reflected that. Backup batteries are easy to series, but you need a lot of capacity to runs things of grid and not kill them.

My new system will supplement my old system and I will post the setup and both inverters when I do it. In a new thread of course. That will not be the new property, but that will get a combo of it all and maybe wind, we will see.

JR I can hook you up with some pics of the "junk" if this freezing fog ever goes away long enough, I was out wandering the plantation here looking at assorted relics and assembling my plan. This might be kinda fun....like a barn find but all scattered LoL

They have always been a mystery to me too, but learning. True with LU there should be no slippage and less heat. But depending on tune and the converter stall it could unlock a the slightest peddle pressure.

21-22 sounds high for a cruise RPM, should be under 2k with OD.

I doubt the actual block is damaged, just the cam bearings. Getting all the crud out is the ticket then have new bearings put in.

You will basically have a new motor.

You say time is no biggie so that would get the most bang for the buck. Used motors will always be in question some.

Oh, those bumps have a lot to do with the front suspension. Stock trucks ride on those so when you lift you are running off the torsion bars alone. Good tires and shocks (bilstien 5100) you will be golden.

To fix the front seat recline there is a small collar on the powered screw you remove. Cut both sides with a Dremel and hit a cut with a chisel and it will pop off. You now have full reclining seats!

I'm thinking that and wireless for a few prime spots with solar power. Since I won't be there some of the time I want to see what/who comes and goes in realtime and game cameras.

Might not even have any power at first, so gen and solar will be options.

Don, do you have a few cameras setup just for fun? Specially with all those machines just sitting there.

I second, wait 3rd now, on pulling the motor. Has to be someone nearby with a picker. Dang they are under $150 new and always handy when a tractor won't fit.

I would go with the 285/295 75 17s in the cooper STT. Once you go past 17's the prices go crazy.

Cooler may not be a bad idea. Lifetime make a 50qt cooler now that is just $97 at wally. Might fit in there just right and even uses a hose fitting for the drain (yep, been eyeing them) Couple blocks of ice, some jugs and you are good for a week. Blocks are easy to find and can freeze the jugs when you get a tel for a shower and such. Plus you have all that extra water on tap

Keep the uptop load simple and light. Store all the chairs and such inside when you drive, can always take em out when you sleep.

Do the front seats fully recline?

Mission Creep, was there ever a doubt  :beercheers:

That is still pretty good either way. You do have the time of cutting and moving wood too, but as you said it is a trade off.

Sorta the way with solar here. Getting better but I spent 18k putting it in, got $6k back on taxes (not a write off) and with just using gas now (cooking. heating, hot water) my winter bill is $125, summer les than $60. Then with the true up (what you use over producing) I pay about another $100 a month. Now they have a new rate setup too where power will be the most expensive from 1600-2000. Just right for the high use AC people. Now I only have a 4k system that pretty much works from 0900 to 1900, but adding another 4K this year on the southwest side that will catch all the late afternoon and more winter sun.

Are you getting a second battery for the fridge? That will draw all night. My little seat cooler killed my batteries in a day!

As for mileage, I had 285's on mine and got 16mpg driving 65mph like a baby. Hope the mods help with that.
3 maybe 4 can sleep inside if you must. Hvae you done the front seat mod for full reclining? 10 min job.

Go synthectic rope on the winch, good weight savings there. Plus you can always double up the line for pulling power with a good snatch rope/strap making up for the length. (Nate)

Saw this bill yesterday. Very little chance it will ever get further and they will not be even close to a vote in the senate.

If they get full control like here in Ca, we are in deep trouble!
