Looks right on the edge, he may be OK.

Have a small issue like that on mine, but just the framing vs the wall.

Looking good though!

Wow, lmc it was $319.

Tries LKQ and they show a rack and pinion which is wrong.

Dorman #425185 is still $180 at rock auto.

Have a pick n pull nearby?

Stairway was a hotbox in the heat so I lined it with foam. Already had all but 1 small piece. Spreads the light nice too.

Doorway and cabinet roughed in.

Think the LBZ was harder than that as it has an O ring on the rear I replaced.

A couple pics also show how I put a DRO on it. Pretty simple for around $100 and it works fine.

On the new cabinet the X table now stays over the cabinet less the handle on the right.

Here is a pic of the mill after the fire in '06, only hard part replaced was the motor head.

Next I transferred all the tooling and such from the little cabinet to the new one. Half of this tooling is for my Emco Maximat lathe/mill. This is not the mill I just moved, it is parts of the lathe!

I thin the tooling is worth more than the lathe itself. This is all original Emco stuff from grinders to drill chucks the size of my hand. 4 jaw lathe chuck, rotary table and all kinds of custom tooling.

Here is the cover my buddy made. I think it is 18g and it fits great. I used a drop of silicon on the corners as they are open to the wood.

I have been looking for a wider cabinet for my Wabeco mill. It was a CNC mill and will be again but it needed a better home than the 30in cabinet it was on. I have done a full RnR on this mill after a garage fire, that left it in bad shape and cooked the CNC parts.

So I found a 46in wide x 24 deep Husky cabinet last week. I had also wanted something with drawers vs the shelves for access. Plus at $350 vs the 1000+ I have been seeing it was an easy decision. Siting on the old 32 inch cabinet the tray and X bedway hung off the sides while working.

Had a buddy at scouts make me a galv cover for it that fit great and the youngest and I did the swap today. I already had an attached chip tray that got in the way a little, but we got it.

I need to reconfigure the wheels on my cherry picker as they won't go under the cabinets, but that is for another day.

Started by cleaning it off some and wrapped a lift strap around the motor. This is a tabletop mill but still goes at around 200lb and is solid. We added double tape to tray under just the mill base. Then we centered and dropped it down, using a piece of flooring to get it centered before setting it down. I will then add a silicon bead around the tray keeping the nasty's from under it.

I had to use wood and clamps to hold it as I slid the flooring out. Rear mark was a little off but it was dead on in the front and the rear was flush with the cabinet back so I was happy.

Cat was interested in something in the kitchen. Next thing I know my son says there is a bat in the house! Probably came in when the upstairs was left open over night.

Oldest boy coaxed it into a box but it jumped out when we were going to let it go, wife made a huge issue of it! I did make him put gloves on, they tend to have rabies.

Well, went ahead and did it, drilled some holes for the vents. Beam is just 14x5 so there is a little more room than I thought. Still need to find a wider ridge shingle, may have to make my own as well as the venting itself.

Only did the 1st 3 bays since it will be covered soon with the hallway. Holes are 1.5 to give me an idea on the location both on the shingles and how wide my vent must be. When done I will cover 2 16in vents which one leaks and just can't seem to fix it. Have another leak from a skylight on the other side. The vent ridge will allow both of these to be addressed.

5x1.5in holes give me almost 9sqin so I may do 6 in the rest of the bays for a little over 10sqin. Not quite as much as the 14sqin I get with a slot but it will have to do.

If the injectors have been done on the LB7 and the trans is solid I would think hard on that over 6.0 gas rig. Yep, the HD1500 are a 2500 frame but a lighter 9.5 rear which is not a bad rear for a semi float.

I am leaning towards the holes, say 3 per section. Issue is still the vent material above it as it is designed for cutting a 4in or so slot in the ridge. Then they seal outside that with the cap over that.

So lets say 3-4 holes in each section. Puts the width to seal around 10 inches to be safe. That does not to sound crazy but most venting is made for that narrow center ridge. I was thinking of mesh that I can use wider and found something called smartvent; https://dciproducts.com/smartvent-off-peak-firewall/

So I have some options but need to look more.

I would do the holes up top JR. Fairly simple, efficient, and no fan needed.

Not sure, the ridge beam is 6in wide.  Small holes may work but I would need a 16in+ cap to cover both sides.

I think in the long run keeping the roof as is will be the best route and using a solar fan to pull air out is an option I thought of.

There will be quite a bit of space for the air to be pulled through, just have to get it out somewhere.

Sprayfoam for an r30 would be pricey and I still need to address the venting.

Nope, can't do that with this structure. The OSB is nailed to the beam in shear as part of the structure. A few holes are fine noted with 2 vents I have up there now for the open structure.

I think my only real option is a forced vent system either pushing the air down next to the beam or drilling a hole in the 2x10 on each rafter. However as seen by the pic I already have a notch on the bottom and
plan on leaving a gap there since the beam drops about 2 inches below the rafter. It would have to have a fan to work correct pulling the air out of the 2 roof vents now.

Jared, I have a venting problem in my upstairs main room. It has a versalam (16x6) ridge and 2x10 on 16c. I am going to insulate this with roxul 30 which leaves a 3in space up top I need to vent.

I was thinking about leaving a little space next to the beam so when I sheetrock I can pull the air out the bottom with a small fan pulling the air down and over/out.

Other idea is to drill a hole in each rafter near the top to pull the air across still using a fan to move the air.

So any ideas would be great!!

As good as the insulation is working. I ordered another 350sf for the rest of the main room upstairs. Summer is here and it is hot up there!

The main room will get this roxul 30/16 and the storage areas will get 2 inch rigid foam and vapor barrier.

Need to ask Jared about venting since the room has no room for regular vents.

Well, with the room done this is back on the table. Still a few thing to clean up and other home projects, but nothing like a 2nd story!

Near the end of the above picture the adapted fell and mucked up the TBI some, plus I never got the screw to loosen up. Ended up getting another TBI unit.

I am transferring the mill to a new drawered cabinet that fits better and allows access to the tooling vs the cabinet I have now. It is also wider allowing better protection for the mill.

I am pretty happy with the H1 wheels cept the wieght. I kinda like the idea of steel as they can be straightened out if need be, alum just breaks!

Mine cleaned up nice and the beadlocks seem to function well. They look to be the thick horse matting and cut to fit the rim is all. I few screws with sheet metal holds the shape. Maybe an product idea vs plastic or mag stuff. I did get these from a local off road guy but have not heard of them otherwise.

Yep, it was around $50 and took around 20 minutes to cut. Needs a little more but is pretty close.

I used to get oversize and put weighted bottles around the edge which was not bad. But everytime the wind blew it was a chore so going this way now. Still have to get the solar going too. Pump seized and I got a hole in a panel when building the room. Will see how the AC works as 90+ is predicted for monday.
