To many little fires going right now, then I got a bug last night. Felt like someone turned a switch off. Slept for 12 hours and going again, slower but going.
Pouring a 3x3 slab for the pool heater then hopefully get that 9.5 under the sub.

Hang in there Dave. I know there are days/weeks like that.

Dodged another bullet there it seems, good all around I hope.
Maybe something a little smaller for the farm later? Would be even more self sustaining that way as long as you have chain saws that work,,,,,,,

Dang Nate, that looks like something you'd find in SF!!
I was thinking more like this;

By the way I think its a great idea, same reason I went solar, my summer bills were killing me. NG is reasonable out here and heats the house and soon the pool.

Sounds like you have a winner there Bob. Those decks come in nice for pit stops too, but the ladies need other equip.
Ours were I/Os (gas and diesel) and we left them in the slip, had 2 in diff locations as we have over 80 square miles of water. Even have a set of locks! Only thing that came in and out with use were 2 jetskis and a semi-rigid with an OB. We took very good care of our stuff and when out of the water we had the free labor detail it for us.

Hmm, Don is quiet after that info. Hope it works out. Wasn't there a note about using US pipe as in made in Kansas, I think I see a china stamped on that.
Dave, they have crazy burn laws out here. I am not in one the zones though and still have a real fireplace. I also think wood burning for home heating is exempt, was here last I checked.

Very nice Bob, reminds me of the Almar boats when I worked. Suspension seat and closed cabin, nice for nice weather Our boats held up very nice in the brackish water. Must of set you back about the price of a Duramax!

Dropped the axle on the 1500 and got the 9.5 on the M/C jack for welding pads and shock mounts.

Have talked to Tate a little. Prob keep the axle as it is more or less. Sure gears and rebuild even keeping the ford brakes.
I do need to address the tone ring, which looks to be a 55. Kits are around for it, about $100 and machine the hubs (which I can do).
Also need to address the tcase. Will need a yoke eliminator kit and rear case since I got the rub. Thinking about upgrading to better case and going manual. Its a 263XHD and there are a few compatible (mp1225/6, mp1625/6). Need a 29 spline input and a 31 rear slip.
Lots of little things to get together.

Hoping I can use most pf what I have for the dodge dana 60 on the ford. Which outers might be a question with the ford hubs, but the outers can switch over right? Fords are .6 longer and have diff brakes than the dodge.

I want to start getting parts for this as I rebuild the front end.
Pretty sure I can use almost everything from my dodge dana 60 on this, cept the gears and that is covered. That should cover the cross-over steering and internals, less outer 35s?
So I need spring brackets, springs, shocks and hoops. Not sure if I want to fill the frame when I cut all the stuff off. It would look cleaner though. Also do I need a panhard bar, GMs don't use em. Then a pitman arm for the crossover and I will use tierod ends. A anti sway bar is in the plans.
Hopefully Tate and Sean are watching this and will chime in.

Leaf springs? Can't ride worse than a torsion bar and its a truck. I like a firm ride not an Escalade.

Why not get the newer ford front end style sas kit. ?

Well, its $1500 to start with and not made for my axle. It has crossed my mind (carefull) Plus I want leafs so I don't have to mess with coil over mounts and coil overs that cost as much as the truck! The normal spring for this is 47in. If I use a gm 56in spring I can get about any rate I want and they are cheap!

Those are the STT, I got the MTP made for DT by Cooper. They have a little friendlier center treat for maybe longer wear and a touch quieter.
Those are the 37s I'm getting with my worn 35s behind em. Nice thing with DT I can get either tire!
We need to talk some more to see what I can get from you on this.
I understand, hit me up this week and I can text you some pics etc until new site is ready.
Will do, plus the gears. They are Tate approved,,,,,,,,,,,,

Nice thing is I have most of the axle/steering parts already. Sean has a set of RC gears. I make hangers, go with chevy 56in springs (cheap with many options) and I am set. Biggest expense will be shocks.
Dang, those 37s are big!!

Those rocks would make a heck of an obstacle along the main road or even a way to block the main entrance if that ever arose. Place a few in the right spot with a "key" to knock out.
There are other ways in/out if I recall.

I see them on CL for around 25K around here, not terrible.
I can see a trans build for me in the next year or so. Never had an issue and has the transgo jr, but I push it time to time and it gets hot to easy.

Got a set of 12ton jacks stand today at HF. I know the 6tons above will hold it up, but they were maxed out for height. Plus the Dmax is next and it is a little heavier than the old sub.

Got the 60 out so I can wood for the fence tomorrow. $8 dolly from HF and a couple 4x make for easy moving. MC jack was not working at all!
Listing a few things on CL and pirate to recoop some funds.

Last contractor in my house was fired. Ceiling was out by a 1/2 inch, floor was wavy and he used sheet rock screws. Best part of it all was my dog bit his worker, and he had never bit anyone before

Got to work on the 1500 sub to get it gone. Great inside cept headliner, just 87K miles. Rear is blown so I'm shoving a 9.5 with posi under it.
All new brakes, tires and wheels. Turns over but won't start, I figure the old alarm is the issue.

Which cognito lift do you have? The 4-6”?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yep the 4-6 front non torsion bar drop and I have their upper A arms on the truck now. New Timken hubs and few other little things. I just looked and just the kit is $1780. Going to throw it up here, CL and pirate PDQ. Would add the UCA too but they are still in use, those are over $500 now! I figure $1500 for the lift and other stuff, add $300 for the UCA when they come off. Guess I kinda did put it up here first

Well, with life doing its normal thing all this has been on hold for the past year.
I have decided to go SAS though and found a Dana 60. Selling the cognito stuff will offset its cost. It is a 1988 HP from a F350, 4.10 open (per the billvista code) Mounting is 36.5 and have been researching kits, but looking more like a complete DIY. Need to get Spartan running first since I just paid the tags for another year and need multi pass vehicles.
Got some 37/12.5-17 Coopers MTPs for it too, so the lift is needed for those. Will move the axle 1in forward with 5-6 lift on the SAS.
Also got some carb legal manifolds for the exhaust as I still have to mess with Ca smogs.
