With the size of that roof you could put two or three up there.  What brand did you buy ?

Shawn, I’m showing my disdain for light bars on red neck trucks.

Dave. It’s a consumable.  Paint flaked off from all the heat and smoke. Read. Excuse for a new one when theODK gets built

Charles, I get it. The size of the light bar has become a ego boosting device for short guys.... use short in whatever context you feel is relevant.

I really don't know what brand it is. I walked I'm the store, pointed at at the rack and said I want that one. I do know it cost $150. The guy said he's been selling them like crazy. It works great. I will be putting one on my planter tractor later.

Up at 04:00. Got pork butt seasoned and on the smoker. Pulled the toilet downstairs and re installed with new wax ring and bolts. No more wobley toilet.  Removed the condensate pump from the AC and blew out the line which was clogged. Replaced with new pump and some algaecide tablets. Kept the old pump for backup.

Organized a bit in the shop(at least enough I can get through the door) then went into town to the flooring store. They’ll be out to measure and provide estimate today. Went to Lowe’s for a breaker and for some electrical trim.

Now cleaning up waiting on some family friends to arrive.

Not bad productivity today. Only 7 cups of coffee....

So I have power to the guest house, he hooked it up with the cable that was already there. From what he said, the 2017 update doesn’t allow a common ground to sub panels from the main distribution. So he hooked up common neutral and two hots and now it is energized. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to get the box cleaned up, the ground bus bars were pretty oxidized and he was having trouble getting the screws broke loose. And of course the nearest location to buy new ones was Lowe’s 45 minutes away.  I’ll clean it up next week, flip the big breaker in the garage and deenergize it to do the work and then turn it back on. Just for reference, I attached a picture of my main distribution panel in the garage.

Yes, those 2 round delicious logs of pure gluttony are 3 lb fatties rolled with bacon.

And the pan next to them are raw almonds that i put a spicy seasoning on.

Did you use your home cured bacon? There is no substitute. Worst thing I ever did was cure my own. Store bought sucks now.

It's always my job to make the turkey. Salt and pepper, lay some home cured bacon on top.(black pepper and garlic flavor). 2 quarts of home made chicken stock in the bottom. Got the mini fridge stocked.

I'm hiding out in the basement kitchen out of the way of the women upstairs. It won't be long before they invade my oven. Too bad I already have my duck in there. They  will just have to wait!

I put the duck on a rack over top of a quart of chicken stock. I put some extra garlic in the stock and a couple Bay leaves.

Very nice Jon! I normally deep fry a turkey and the wife told me no to the dismay of our kids...…

Apparently I have upped the ante though as she had it in a brine all night and is now injecting it with enough butter and heart attack inducing compounds to kill a small army!

Honestly jon,

when i do stuff like that, i use some hormel black label bacon because its kind of in between the thick cut and the oscar meyer paper thin crap.

Now, when i do candied bacon type stuff i like to use wrights thick cut because of the consistent thickness and halfway decent flavor.

Homemade bacon is reserved for special occasions..... :beercheers:

Spending today and yesterday getting things together to take my dog Hank to Booneville, AR for the 2nd annual trip to the National Championships.  Cleaned and oiled the saddle and other leather gear and packing clothes for whatever weather comes our way. Will drag the trailer home from storage Wednesday to toss everything in and double check things before leaving Friday around 4am to avoid traffic stupidity; at least that’s the plan. 9-10 days of watching some of the best Brittany’s in the country and great people. Hopefully Hank has his best run yet and we’re successful in showcasing his abilities!

Well gentlemen, I’m back from Booneville, AR as of 8 pm last evening after a 13 hour drive hauling the camper. The drive was better than expected since......Hank and I WON!  Four full days of competition, 7+ hours a day in the saddle and Hank defeated 44 other dogs from across the Nation; each dog competing for an hour in pairs to select the winners.  I am truly blessed by God!

Don't think it matters much.  all the strength is in the other plane.  May have to space them out with a block to get them back in line

Never had any issues with them being bowed, they are usually pretty floppy.  They do come with a crown from time to time but by the time you add flooring and a second level that is all a mute issue
