It all looks good, that cap you have on the drop pipe can be drille / tapped for npt pipe fittings if you didn’t want to remove it.

So that the water does not remain captured in the sump, I drilled a 1/4" hole in it so that the water constantly drains off.

I did a little observing and learning during the subsequent rain shower, and determined that a 1/4" hole is a bit to big for a light rain, as the rain fall will not overcome the 1/4" hole's capacity to drain the sump, meaning all the catchment gets drained off and not captured. I think I'll plug and drill a 1/8" hole next.

Don, the volume of that drop pipe is considerable, I’d not go smaller on the hole. It will plug, install a valve & crack it slightly. Then if you want to clean it out, crack the pvc valve wide open.....

I have a broil King which I bought at Lowe’s 3 years ago, I had a Weber before that & couldn’t pay the Weber price comparably. The broil king has worked flawless & it’s a great unit for the money.

Not sure Ken’s angle but as a business owner I have always carried cash. If I find a good deal they always want cash & as they say money talks.

I used to buy used machinery, more times than I could count I would show up to buy one piece. I always paid in person in cash. Then as a deliberate habit would make sure there were a lot of hundreds extra to flash & do so purposely. I normally walked away with a ton of equipment dirt cheap. For the record I never lost money on equipment, much of it sat in my shop in storage until someone walked in & needed it worse than I. First time I ever did this I had a 12k 20’ deck over & 4 2 inch ratchet straps. I left that place loaded full and hobbled it over to HD to buy a dozen more, lesson learned......

I know of a state park in northern Indiana that has primitive cabins you must paddle in to, again not right area but close on other things.

« on: May 16, 2018, 10:11:00 AM »
Mornin fellas.  I have been searching for a weekend getaway place somewhat close to us that’s along the lines of 4wd access only and completely secluded.  Preferably in the mountains of TN and NC.  I am located in Georgia.  Im looking for a private poperty to rent out for short term where I can reset.  Id love to fish, cook, brew strong coffee and sip some great Borbon in the evenings.  Just a disconnected getaway for the wife and I and to show the kids round natures beauty.

All my searches have come up with properties geared towards hot tubs and pool tables.  Ok hot tubs would be nice but certainly not necessary.  Im looking for simple and very private.  There has to be a website or some way to contact people who are in the same mindset.  I find this difficult to come across.  Can anyone suggest a direction?

Thanks all,

Jonathan

Closest thing I know of is to run the hatfield and McCoy trails, camp out etc. You're walking a fine line of primitive but want some amenities' still. Probably wasn't helpful but it's the best I have for ya.

Shawn I’m not a fan of being told who to vote for but what about Heller, Castle Doctrine and other wins for armed citizens?  If not the NRA then who? It takes big money to lobby and change laws.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Charles, I give money to GOA. As far as the NRA, my thinking (from things I keep reading) is they are getting bought and paid for bit by bit. Little bites here and there, one day you will wake up and they will have given in to a ban on semi autos, then bolt guns etc. They’re walking a very slippery slope, their funding has been record setting as of late.

Shawn, I know you feel the opposite way about the NRA as Ken does about Hildabeast, but we still love you guys!  The important part of the post was this:

What AR-15 can fire 600 rounds per minute?

Now I know what to do with all my NRA chotchkies, when’s your birthday Shawn?  I even bet we can get Ashley to slip a bumper sticker on your rig the next time you visit! LOL!

I think Don said it best, when a liberal starts talking we quit listening.

AR-15 at 600 rounds a min? See Don’s statement & don’t give Ashley any ideas....

http://www.captainsjournal.com/2018/05/13/oliver-north-supported-the-assault-weapons-ban/

Let me break this down one more time, the NRA is not your friend and is not worthy of your donations or support. They will sell you down the river for any opportunity to gain more donations, money is power after all.

So some dem from Nev said F the NRA? I agree.......

15 mins of welding....

I think it was worth $30

5727
When I had the dually & prior to fixing the tailgate that the prior owner jacked up I ran it with no tailgate. I hualed skids of steel often, in order to keep dumb forklift drivers off my bumper I had a piece of 2x3 1/4 wall tube about 3’ long that had a short piece of 2 sq to fit into the reciever. I suppose it would have distributed the impact across the front of the liberal Prius cars making them more happy. Guessing it may also pass muster on some of these any hitch laws when not pulling trailers.

5728
Why? Were you welding on wood top tables too?

5729
So I bought a standard 20" box fan from HD and a couple 20" filters, figured these fans get a million miles on them in trailer parks across the country why not my shop too? Using some scrap wood I had laying around and misc woods screws I threw this together in 20 minutes. I essentially pulled the back vent panel off and attached a standard air filter. Simple and cheap, we'll see how effective shortly. My plan is to hang it up near the ceiling in my shop near my work bench, it will move some air and filter it too.

So I decided before I torch the folding metal table with wood top I picked up for free off of a local porch using it as a welding table, hey it's better than Don's cardboard tables.... I would invest in another inexpensive option. They had these at our local tractor supply for $99, it even comes preassembled which I thought was a nice feature. It has a semi flat sheet metal top and is fairly sturdy. I wouldn't go pounding on steel with it or mount a vise to it but for various welding jobs it will give me a portable option in addition to my big heavy welding bench. For $99 it seems to be of good quality.

Folks, There is another issue regarding my using this truck as a driver.

Suffice it to say it is problematic that this truck might ever be operated legally on a public road...

Dicks sporting goods, it appears over the last couple months they have been in full decline of 2A support, and are now outright looking to destroy particular weapons they have in stock.

http://allnewspipeline.com/Backlash_Begins_Dicks_2nd_Amendment.php

I feel like they did something to this effect after Sandyhook. But a good reminder as to why they or any of their subsidiaries do not warrant our dollars!

Dicks has also hired lobbyists to work against 2a in DC, mossberg & Springfield have cut all sales to dicks in response. Just a thought when spending money on firearms.

God help you Sean. The 2 biggest hurdles, when they walk and when they drive!

Grandma just gave her 2001 Camry to me for the oldest, who is 15.5 now. I dread the insurance but the car was the right price with only 159k on it.

The 2000 xj on her own policy (which is cheaper than being on ours by $100 a month  ) is still $154 per month for plpd.......

The power of persuasion, you need to be in sales Nate.....

So I picked up a crate I shipped to myself from Indiana last week. It had 1800# of steel components in it which I unloaded and started sorting today to take inventory. Things are moving along, I tend to believe I’m slower than I used to be although I feel like I’m moving just as fast.  At the end of the night I’m exhausted it seems so sleeping hasn’t been an issue.

Baylee, if she passes her driving test in the am gets her license, not helping me feel any younger.
