First day of the new hauling job went well. There was a some of "you are doing it wrong" and I made a spectacle of myself unloading.  I looked like a total rookie backing in to dump. Tight quarters and unfamiliar trailer. Second load was a little better. Only took 5 trys.

Is the new tractor being delivered to the farm?  Or is it going to to the house to make the neighbors nervous for a few days?  ;)

Ran a Precision Rifle Match at the club Saturday. Had 61 guys come out to shoot.  Each one fired about 100 rounds throughout the day.  Targets were varied in range from 100 to 675 yards. Most targets were about  2MOA in size (12" target at 600 yards).  My wife came out to take some photos of the match.

Some good pics there, looks like mostly custom rifles.

I know the feeling. Times I can hit it dead first try, others I need to try and try. Long trailers are so much easier!

Depending on what you define as custom, probably 90%+.  There are a handful of guys still shooting the Ruger RPR.  They are a decent entry level option.  Decent number of people shooting and MPA rifle.  Based on the rule book most of those are "factory rifles".  Many people would probably consider it custom.

I've never seen as many lights on a vehicle as what I saw on this Caddy today. The pics don't do it justice.
I counted 16 "rock" lights in the wheel wells, rockers, and subrame area.
About 10 led strips for ambiance.

It came in for an electrical issue

Had the wife tell me someone keyed out Jetta,  rewound and watched the last two weeks of stored footage with no visible picture of anyone doing anything.

They got every panel on the car, tail lights included.

Anyone have experience with claiming that kind of thing on their auto insurance?  $250 deductible. Isn’t bad pending what the end results

Along the lines of your car being keyed, got into a verbal altercation with some idiot at O’Reillys who was letting his ~3yo daughter lean against MY CAR while he put tire shine on his car. Tells me to suck a **** in front of his kid so I called him out for talking like that in front of his kid.

Dave, if you have uninsured motorist , you might get covered for less deductible. Had front end damage in a parking lot and was covered that way. washington not Utah so not sure.

Echo. wife's Yukon got side swiped in the grocery store parking lot by a landscaping truck, whole side. uninsured motorist was only $100 I think and they re-shot most of the vehicle because of the blending.

Should have back handed him, then explained to his little lady that daddy is sorry for using bad language, then maybe returned to the young lad, and while employing some joint manipulation explained how he should apologize to you for disrespecting you and your property..

I'm correct in this right?

Anyone??

You could just “trigger” him by explaining to his daughter while standing there how to respect others property and how her father was being a poor example.  Then he would most likely turn red and try to start something.

Got the nephew started planting beans. Got 160 acres done plus a good start on another field. Unfortunately he is about out if fuel and the fuel truck is not keeping up. Again. I don't know what is going on but I am about to start buying fuel from a different supplier. Once we use what we contracted for the year that is discussion we need to have. This has happened way to many times the past couple years.

Watched a motorhome burn to the ground by my shop (no I didn't work on it Shawn).
The people in it got life flighted out.
I retreated when the ammo started popping right after the propane tank went.

yes, the siders found that gem of a problem early this morning.  now i have the mispleasure of calling every framer/construction company and get somebody out here asap to rip out the rot and replace it so the siders can finish....

this house has/had colorlok siding (they went out of business in 2003 i believe?) i knew of the rotted piece of siding above the garage door, but never thought it would be this bad.  but then again for this being a custom home, there was no sealant tape on any of the windows and as things progress it appears that there was no flashing above any of the doors either.

How does the studs above it look or is that just the frame around the garage?

I played show welder guy today

Welding on a trailer full of powder coat and nothing to clean it but higher temps lol

The start of my chain basket on our tilt deck, I added some angle on the front of this to keep them from falling out

Greaseable hinges for the door so we can lube them with everthing else.  The old set broke some welds. So new and better

Some 3/4 bar stock on the deck to help with wet days, going to use a stick welder and some hard face rod for a second pass to Thickin up the bead.

Dave, now you know how Ken feels hauling H around daily!
Living in the remote north hoping Ken doesn’t bring H up here any time soon…..

When do you get to Nv? With the dozer, not H.

I’m pretty sure this truck will explode at that point.    They did get a new trans box in it, that sure helped shifting.  Now the fueling issue needs addressed

Learned a few things during this week and half in the scrap iron hauling business. My trailer will hold 7 cars and I can buy anything that comes across the scales for scrap price plus a small handling charge. I haven't told my wife yet. Well, I told her about the car thing but not about I can take stuff home. You would be surprised at some of the nice stuff people throw out. Problem is by the time I see something nice the crane has gotten a hold of it.

Just got handed down the pipeline that I get to drive a dump truck after I get my road test done.

Blessing and disappointment. I really like driving the cool classic but there is some major simplicity to the day

Being from the Air Force and they stopped promoting Warrant Officers around 1960 so not sure if this is true or not but maybe the boss can answer this. Would this be a true picture boss? LOL

Well spring is almost upon us here.
Snow will be around till June easily based on how much is still on the bush.
Hauling dirt and gravel while it’s easy.

40 pails of dirt and 60 gravel so far. Hoping for a couple hinders of each by the weekend.
I’ve got a feeling the ice will be toast by Monday.

30-36 highs and 25-30 lows last few days. Nothing is freezing hard any longer. Calling for 65-70 early next week.

I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.
