Morning Fred,
I hope all is well with you today sir. I have to let you know we are going to be delayed in getting the building out for another week or two. I know we said this week, and now that we are here we are forced to push out again on you but there is nothing we can do, it is out of our control.

The vendor supplying materials for your order and multiple others informed us that they are falling behind and cannot deliver on time. We are looking at at least 1 to 2 weeks more. I anticipate right around the end of the month.  I checked with Eric and he confirmed there is nothing he can do. I am sorry Fred, you have been extremely patient with us, please bear with us. I will get you a load date as soon as possible.

I got the final invoice today too. Even with tax little lower than I thought, but still not orginal contract price.

After the above email, here is my reply;

To:

Wed, Oct 12 at 11:03 AM

A week or 2 is what I figured anyway and works with my timeline as I don't live on site. Not sure if you were privy to this before.

I am limited to being on site Friday, Sat, Sun and Maybe Thursday afternoons. Now that we are into the school year, I am taxi for that. If we get into Nov weather will start coming into play for truck access. If it rains or snows a rig will not make it up the hill. I will supply you with the lat/long and lot # for delivery. Using regular GPS will not get you there with address.
The lot number for washoe county quickmaps is XXXXXXX. Thats actually shows the lot with roads.

I have a tractor and Skidsteer on site with real forks, not bolt ons. Neighbor has a big tractor with forks that will do really heavy items.

I think friday would be the best if possible.

JR, Heli Maniac

Got it, yes I remember speaking with you about this now Fred, thank you for your patience and understanding. I will be sure to share all of this with Ron Avey.

Well JR, how many times can they push you before you quit being MR nice guy. This has really turned into one big mess. I understand options are slimmer than slim but after reading all the complaints posted above you have to wonder.

I don't want to be negative

But this is just horse crap.

My question is, Why did they promise you a delivery date if they didn't even have materials on site to complete your building

Very poor project management IMHO

Two weeks, then another for some reason, then something else, then bad weather...

Not the first time I have been called the nice guy, but I have my limits and am awful close.

All paid up now, see if my guts right. At least it is ALL documented very well. Or a woop arse trip to Colorado.

Pad was signed off last week! Was beautiful up there but a little windy. Sat it turned, only got to 48, gusts of wind still.

Got to use the new air jack. Worked great in the dirt.

Even behind the tires its full of crud. Got the front/rear belly plates off. Good design being slotted with bolts on the outside edge.

Look at the pic on page 1 of this, you can see how it buried.

This is way worse than when I got it, but way easier junk to clean out.

Buy the way, it starts just fine now.

Now I am holding my breath on this date AND that the weather holds.

Well, so far still confirmed the 9th is the load date. I figure a day travel and hoping for Friday on site.

Spent this Friday-Sat on some basic stuff and found my Gen does not want to run now, so no air to fill Dugs tire.

Dug, took much of the time though,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

As posted prior, Dug is a mess with the little flood. If this is anything like what happens in a real flash or otherwise flood I feel very sorry for them.

So I had enough water to fill a 55 barrel and go it filled again at a neighbors. Ran the wally black max power washer for around 2 hours, what a mess!

Dirt was up about 16 inches inside the frame, worse than when I got it! But at least it was just dirt.

PW really wanted more pressure in, but it ran once going. I used it like a drill until I had channels cut through the much out the bottom. Needless ot say there was "ample" blow back at me and I got covered more than once.

It is still not quite done but starts up OK (little issue with bendix, dirt inside maybe) runs fine and the throttle works good now. You can even see the pump, filters and most parts now.

I had raked under DUG before the cleaning and now the dirt is up to the RR ties it is sitting on. I can run it once I get the tire resealed and back on. It does need some Hyd oil and a service for sure, dated back to 9-19 when I got it.

Well, still confirmed for this week. I may just rent a telehandler to make it easy. Hard part is it costs as much to get there and back as to rent!

Solid confirmation for this Friday, about 0900. Youngest coming up with me to.

Slab? Will start digging as soon as I have placed things where I need. Want to have room to drive around the forms if needed. Ground does not freeze but can't see getting cement before spring with the road and budget.

Where I am on that. I split the "fuel fee" and they jumper on that. I just wanted the building here! Final bill was just under 50K, I was expecting over 50 so better for me.

When I cancelled the building insulation, they removed from the doors too (I did not). They are sending that along too, but keep reminding them.

Have 2 neighbors up there with tractors (Case 580 size) and forks if I need help unloading, verified with both this AM.

that truck pulling in will be a great feeling for you.  Make sure you get the packing list and ID parts.  As hard as it has been to get the building, it will be worse to get a part next year if you discover it during construction.

Last year went through that at work.

Reason for being up there was the building was supposed to get delivered.

Thought the truck would be there, but he stayed in Reno for the night.

He was on site at 0900 and up the hill we went. Rain and snow tomorrow so timing is good, although at least 6 months late!

Those last pics were where I had a little issue last winter.

Made it onto the pad with no issues, took me 3 hours to unload. Youngest helped and the driver dove right in too. I was allowed 2 hours and slipped him a C note when done. L45 strained a couple times, but got all 30k off the truck.

Didn't get a chance to check the load out and it needs organizing now to do so. I moved it around some just as the sun went down and covered the one pallet of hardware.

Thx guys, sure doesn't look like $70k sitting there.

I will start on the foundation asap and hopefully poor as weather allows. Not real long winters there and they tend to be mild for the most part. It is a 6inch slabe and the pillar locations are 4'x4', way over kill. Plumbing, foam under the living area and a few "little things" I will add.

Yep, give or take a K here and there.

Couple of trim crates not in the pics. Was going to drone some, but batteries were not happy.

As said, I need to check it all in, stack way better and in a way I have room to work.

Here's a few pics after the building was delivered. I have organized and cleaned some of the pad since this, but it was dark so no pics.

Last pic is the entire property. Looks like I need to recheck my compass points as I thought the pad was set square N-S-E-W.

Just came back, snow falling about an inch is on the ground. Very nice really until the sun hides.

Finally got ALL the building organized, stuff was all over and hard to inventory. Covered the trim pallets at least, funny how little it look like.

Brought Dugs tire home to repair, just don't seem to get to it when working there.

Just came back from a day trip to the ridge, winter is there! Having the DMAX geared right made the trip up the road safer.

View was great, but 22F left my hands numb. Sure not as bad as Sam puts up with but when that little bit of sun was gone! You could see Christmas lights in the valley! I put a couple strings around the gate.
